Yes. That's right! Her most under appreciated and less talked about self titled third album, 'Britney' was released.
Lets talk about how much 'Lonely', 'Cinderella' and 'Before The Goodbye' would have smashed had they been singles instead of 'I Love Rock n Roll' and 'I'm Not A Girl...'
Then we have the absolutely wonderful 'That's Where You Take Me'.
What are your highlights and lowlights?
Yes, it also means that 'Slave' is over 13 years old!!! It'd be such a smash if it was released today!
Edit: oh and thank you Tyler! <3
I put in the full cover picture without tags, because it is flaw free.
This era was iconic. Slave alone slays my existence. Before The Goodbye and Lonely should have been singles. Also Bombastic Love and Cinderella . This album deserves more love from the fanbase, I think it really cemented a lot of her young fans as "fans for life".
Also it gave us this:
Personally I think it's the best pop performance of our generation.
I was thinking the other day how old 'Slave' is, I really can't get my head around it! Still sounds so so fresh.
'Britney' is my second favourite of hers, so underrated! 'Slave', 'Boys' and 'Overprotected' are three of her best singles for me. As for album tracks, 'What It's Like to Be Me' would be my favourite, as well as 'Bombastic Love' and 'Lonely'.
And the artwork is by far her best of any of her albums. The Britney logo isn't great but take that off and it's perfecttt.
Slave and Boys <3
BTG, Bombastic Love, Lonely deserved a single treatment as well. Flawless album with no fillers at all.
Her 3rd best album after In the Zone & Blackout and one of the most iconic album covers ever.
love the urban feel that Slave, Boys and Lonely have!
of the classic pop I ADORE Let me be!!! one of my fave Brit tracks... I also love What is like to be me...her only collaboration with JT!
Far from my fave Brit album but again A GREAT POP RECORD.
Such a great album, and a nice transition between the pure pop of '...Baby'/'Oops!' and the more mature 'In The Zone'. 'Britney' didn't stray terribly far away from pop, but it had more of an urban edge than her previous releases.
I don't think it was mentioned, but it was recently 7 years since the release of 'Blackout'.
I have never actually listened to this. INAG srsly put me off.
No other songs on 'Britney' sound like 'I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman', not even the other slow moments on the album. I'd say that most of the album tracks are more in line with 'Overprotected' over any other single taken from it.
Let Me Be >>>>>> life
Cinderella is quite frankly my jayumm
This album is ALL ABOUT "Anticipating" It would have been useless as a single but it's so much fun! The performance from the Dream within a Dream tour was amazing too, I can't find a proper link on YouTube though (only the performance with the studio version playing).
