Good afternoon everybody
1995 1- UNCHAINED MELODY/ THE WHITE CLIFFS OF DOVER- Robson & Jerome (314,000) 2- DREAMER- Livin Joy (81,000) Livin Joy increased sales but dropped to number 2 (well of course no wonder with the massive sales Robson & Jerome had) |

Afternoon everyone, hope all is good! Ecstatic to be hearing Galantis in today's chart!
My retro faves~ 2014 1- I WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN- Rita Ora (105,095) 2- WAVES- Mr Probz (65,047) 4- SUMMER- Calvin Harris (38,286) 5- HIDEAWAY- Kiesza (30,428) 6- ONLY LOVE CAN HURT LIKE THIS- Paloma Faith (29,007) 7- NOBODY TO LOVE- Sigma (27,410) 9- CALM AFTER THE STORM- The Common Linnets (21,018) *.* 10- FANCY- Iggy Azalea Ft Charli XCX (19,595) A bit of a shame that we're STILL waiting on that follow-up from Rita, massive promo chance missed too with The Voice UK now over. Oh Calvin why. On a sidenote, it was incredible to see The Common Linnets top ten this time last year! Such a soothing and tranquil offering from The Netherlands last year. <3 2010 1- GOOD TIMES- Roll Deep (48,593) 3- O.M.G- Usher Ft Will.i.am (38,521) 4- STEREO LOVE- Edward Maya Ft Vika Jigulina (34,896) 5- CANDY- Aggro Santos Ft Kimberly Wyatt (34,354) 6- SHE SAID- Plan B (32,700) 7- SHE’S ALWAYS A WOMAN- Fyfe Dangerfield (29,505) 9- TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE HEART- Glee Cast (23,274) *.* 10- ACAPELLA- Kelis (21,800) I was OBSESSED with that Glee cover haha, if I recall correctly did it not go to no.1 or 2 on iTunes?! Seriously one of their best though, a stupendous vocal from Lea Michele that IMPROVES the screechy original (oops unpopular opinion - Kath back me up! ) for me. 'Stereo Love' another wondrous new entry also, weirdly took a good few years to grow on me but now is a firm summer favourite. 2005 1- LONELY- Akon (59,772) 2- FEEL GOOD INC- Gorillaz (37,737) 5- SIGNS- Snoop Dogg/ J Timberlake/ C Wilson (19,931) 6- IN THE MORNING- The Coral (17,210) 8- I LIKE THE WAY- Bodyrockers (12,391) 10-SWITCH- Will Smith(11,198) Oh my GOSH *me, Iz and Jester instantly faint*, my second favourite song of all-time sitting at number two there! What an utterly pleasurable journey it takes you on, they're still yet to better it for me. 'In The Morning' is also possibly quite forgotten now but an 'oh yeah!' moment when you play it. 2000 1- DON’T CALL ME BABY- Madison Avenue (94,000) 2- OOPS!...I DID IT AGAIN- Britney Spears (80,000) 3- SEX BOMB- Tom Jones & Mousse T (66,000) 5- BOUND 4 DA RELOAD (CASUALTY)- Oxide & Neutrino (36,000)* 10- TOCA’S MIRACLE- Fragma (26,000)* 'Don't Call Me Baby' sounds SO nineties (although it is actually from the 90s, I believe this was a re-release?) so is a bit of a bizarre chart topper in the noughties. Very understated dance though, I like! 1995 2- DREAMER- Livin Joy (81,000) 4- SCATMAN- Scatman John (55,000)* 5- SOME MIGHT SAY- Oasis (48,000)* 8- BACK FOR GOOD- Take That (30,000)* Robson & Jerome really were the musical DIARRHOEA (if they were even interesting enough for that title x) of the time weren't they. I often wish I was alive to experience all the wonderful 90s music at the time but then I remember there was stuff like that in the chart, so woeful. Generally quite a poor top 10 on the whole anyway, besides one of Oasis' best. This post has been edited by Jade: 17th May 2015, 02:53 PM |

Robson & Jerome really were the musical DIARRHOEA (if they were even interesting enough for that title x) of the time weren't they. I often wish I was alive to experience all the wonderful 90s music at the time but then I remember there was stuff like that in the chart, so woeful. Yep, I was totally obsessed with FGI on here for years! Don't Call Me Baby was a 99 re-release, for no real reason it just exploded in 2000?! Wait until Robson and Jerome kept my favourite song of all time off number 1 (Common People). Now that is something I will NEVER get over (chart-wise). |
