New single has been confirmed. The title is currently unknown but it will be out this Friday 28th
Wait, I am so ready for this! Their last few eras have slayed my life!
Oh my GOD
So so so excited!!!
I wish I was pleased about this but I've not enjoyed their progression into softer, teen pop rock territory. I know they've always been marketed towards teens but the music has lost its edge, like they're trying to appeal to just the wrong type of teen.
I CANT TAKE ALL MY FAVES RELEASING RN
Fall Out Boy - Young And Menace
That chorus is a MESS! I really don't know if I like it or not. It's so distracting and just pure noise... Everything else was nice and felt like it was building to a chorus that just doesn't deliver!
My sentiments exactly. Oh, Fall Out Boy, what happened to you?
It reminds me of Take You High by Kelly Clarkson....only noisier and shit
Oh no
I actually liked the chorus and the "oops i did it again" line but that was it oh my god what are they doing?!
This is a hot mess and a really bad attempt to be like Queen.
Okay I listened a few more times and I love it now, carry on FOB
I LOVE IT
The squeaky parts ruin the whole track! Not a fan I'm afraid!
Love Fall Out Boy, but after listening to the track, the screechy bits put me off entirely, I was really expecting something else better, it was painful to listen, bit of a mess really.
This is going to be even more divisive than the title track on AB/AP and I know already which side I'm on *.*
gimme ALL the distortions and insane artistic growth
I like it a LOT! Although I was getting Sleigh Bells from it, not Queen...
I am not a fan on first listen very dissapointed
Fall Out Boy doing dubstep? Maybe I'm biased, but I think I approve of this.
(This sounds NOTHING like Queen? )
Lmao I really don't hear Queen either at all :') I had the same initial misgivings as others but it's growing on me a lot so I really like it! Ofc it's different for them but as with Paramore I like that they are going in a different direction.
This is BRILLIANT. Loud and beefy and roudy and everything I didn't know I needed from FOB *.* Extra hyped for the album now!
While the song is nothing to write home about, at least the band is changing it up because the last couple of albums were throwaway and nothing special. They were really just coasting on their 2007 fame and it's getting hella boring.
I agree that AB/AP was pretty boring by their standards but Save Rock and Roll was a good comeback mainly because of the mini movie thing they did with their music videos/The Young Blood Chronicles *.*
I ended up loving AB/AP, I think I might say it's my favourite album of theirs now. One of the few bands who've never had a duff period or any signs of slowing down for me, and this is exactly the song they needed to keep it going.
Their rap remix album was great! Really showed a different side to them and so does this new material.
All this song left me with was ringing in my ears :/
The new single is great and the video is so powerful! I dunno what y'all are hearing as I am hearing an aboslutely amazing lead single and I am so excited for this entire campaign! The song is beautiful and I am addicted to it.
What an awful racket.
Next track 'Champion is out on Friday
Video is out!
They are talented in different directions. That's why I like them!
I can't decide if I'm into Champion or not, it just seems extremely repetitive
I don't see why so many people hate on FOB for changing up their style since they got back together, bands need to experiment with new sounds and change it up so they aren't churning out the same stuff. New stuff has been different, and definitely a bit more mainstream, but still very good music, not to everyone's tastes I understand, but good nonetheless
Yea exactly, bands have to evolve if they're going to progress with different music trends etc and I think Fall Out Boy have always been sorta outside of any genre anyway, there's always been various elements influencing them so I never really felt you could say "Oh they're a pop punk band" or "they're just a rock band", they just have their own distinct sound so I think it's pretty easy for them to experiment. Clearly Mania is going to be very electronic and poppy in comparison to anything else but I welcome it and being a long term fan of them, I trust where they're taking this new direction, I love Young and Menace so much, I hope there's more of that sorta thing on the rest of the album
I also think when a band has a really distinctive vocalist who isn't just limited to one style, they can pull of a genre switch and Patrick Stump has one of the most unique sounding voices I've ever heard. Look at the likes of Paramore or Panic! AT The Disco, Hayley and Brendon are both insanely talented singers who can pretty much sing anything which is probs why their movement away from their original sound works so well.
Album has been pushed back to January 19th
Next track is available now
YES!!!!
THIS IS SO GOOD!!!! SO much more instant that their last one, more of this PLEASEEEE
FOB are one of my favourite bands, cant beat the 'from under the cork tree' days but this is fire!
this is defo the best song of this era so far
Ace Of Base - All That She Wants
but more generic
crap
Not a patch on Last of The Real Ones but still pretty good imo
I've been listening to this so much today and I'm obsessed, this bops so hard and the drum track is AMAZING, especially in the middle eight *.*

Thought this was out this month on the 19th?
yea im pretty sure it is?
I haven’t given much listen to any of this after Young & Menace, but thankfully the other 3 singles are far from it and I actually quite like them
This is gooooood
I'll stop wearing black when they make a darker colour is a MOOD
Pretty annoying radio 1 seem to have abandoned them after many years for this album!
Omg okay this is pretty good but out of the 5 new tracks, the only one I love is Stay Frosty Royal Milk Tea, the others are kinda meh but will probs grow, my initial rank...
HOLD ME TIGHT OR DON'T > Stay Frosty Royal Milk Tea > Wilson (Expensive Mistakes) > The Last Of The Real Ones > Young and Menace > Champion > Bishops Knife Tricks > Churches > Sunshine Riptide > Heavens Gate
I’m liking this more than I thought I would, HMTOD is a bop & Young and Menace is actually growing on me in the context of the album despite hating it last year
the vocals on some of these songs seem to raw and unedited as if they were recorded after first attempt. it's pretty interesting to see that with a mainstream artist like FOB. can't say i liked the album much tbh. some good melodies and i feel 'young and menace' could've been amazing without those cringeworthy vocals in the chorus
This is such a grower of an album imo, i am really liking it but I don't understand why they needed the extra time to "up the quality" or whatever they said as I do agree that it sounds quite raw and almost demo-y in parts... I dread to think what the album was looking like around the original release date when this is what we got Not that it's bad, it's just not up to their usual level. I also was kind of surprised it's only 10 tracks long and we had 5 of them before the album dropped, you'd think when they delayed releasing it they would have maybe included some more new songs so that we weren't already sitting with half the album, that's gonna kill their sales as well probs.
That kind of release strategy is something Fuelled By Ramen have been doing recently with their bigger bands, I had to actually check that FOB weren't signed to them but I forgot Pete and Patrick have their own independent label that I now know is an imprint of FBR so that explains that...
Fuelled By Ramen used to be amazing at handling alternative artists but they've not been too great for the last few years, like they almost neglect their new/up and coming bands and then they kinda play to the commercialisation aspect with their bigger bands, it's about sales and promo with them and trying to get the most out of the fanbases but this releasing half the album beforehand is shite and is gonna set the album up to flop. It's like they're over hyping and then everyone's just like aw was that It?? They should be using some of that promo space to try and get word out about their new bands, not telling people that one of the biggest bands on their label are releasing an album soon for the 500th time :') what's the point of fall out boy being on their own label if they're gonna make the mistakes their previous label are making
Hold Me Tight Or Don't has been playlisted by Radio 1!!
Amazing start for this as the album has debuted at #2 in the UK.
Oh boy. Music reviewers haven't been very fond of this album from what I've seen.
"Hold Me Tight Or Don't" is growing on me rapidly!
I’m getting into his a lot more now, Wilson has become a clear favourite and I think it could even hold up against some classic FOB songs in time
This is such a great album, I really like it! They produce a lot of quality albums, I have enjoyed their last 3/4 albums.

What is everyone's thoughts on Fall out boy's new single 'Church'. Personally always had a soft spot for this band and enjoyed quite a bit of their later material. In my opinion this is probably the best song they have released in years though, great vocal lines and a nice bump and grind to the track.

Bishops Knife Trick is the next single, I love this video.
I thought "Last Of The Real Ones" was the new single? Though I guess it was sent to radios in mid May which is nearly 3 months ago already (wtf)
