Taylor Swift (via Facebook): I can't believe I get to work with Aaron Dessner. When Aaron came into my life, I was ushered into his world of free-flowing creativity where you don’t overthink, you just make music. His generosity of spirit and humility bleeds into every part of his life, and that’s why so many artists have jumped at the chance to be a part of his collaborative project, Big Red Machine. A song we wrote (which also features ⚡️Justin Vernon✨) is out today! It’s called Renegade. Thanks Aaron for asking me to show up at your party. bigredmachine.jagjag.co/renegade

Like it but wish it was a proper duet, it's really a Taylor song

I like this a lot! It reminds me of 'Long Story Short' without the catchy hook (but a decent one nonetheless). Need to listen to it a couple more imes but I think I already prefer it to at least half of the 'evermore' tracks...

BRM also produced it though? That's like saying everything Calvin Harris is the lead artist for but has little to no vocals on, means he is the feature on those songs...

Exactly, their new album in general is very feature-heavy

Big Red Machine's new song "Renegade," featuring Taylor Swift, has topped this week's new music poll.

Music fans voted in a poll published Friday (July 2) on Billboard, choosing the upbeat collaboration between the indie-folk duo of The National's Aaron Dessner and Bon Iver's Justin Vernon and the pop superstar as their favorite new music release of the past week.

"Renegade," which will be featured on Big Red Machine's upcoming album, brought in nearly 72% of the vote, beating out new music by jxdn (Tell Me About Tomorrow), Doja Cat (Planet Her - Deluxe), Imagine Dragons (“Wrecked”), and others.

It is super obvious that this is just a song that got left off 'evermore' (I know people were saying it sounds like the last 2 Taylor albums but I still wasn't expecting it to sound this much like it, thought it'd be at least a tiny bit different stylistically given that it's meant to be a Big Red Machine song). With that said, I do think it's better than quite a lot of the songs that actually did make the album so I'm very happy it's been released after all, great song x

I was also thinking it's quite similar to 'long story short' in particular so a good shout from Jonjo ~

it feels a bit more... poppier... than most of 'evermore'.

Lol that was pointless, I got hyped at it being a pop version but it’s just a radio edit with identical production that’s slightly shortened and has the swear words blanked out

yea that 'pop version' is a waste of time.

Can someone enlighten me who Big Red Machine are? Are they producers? WHy do they only do BVs on this song?
