Good evening and welcome to the official beginning to the 74th edition of Buzzjack Song Contest, reporting live to you from our most populated city Hyosan in Daehun.
Let's get the dates dished firstly, shall we?
Confermayshuns will begin NOW and end on Saturday 4th April at 11:59PM GMT BST. No entries shall be accepted after this period of time.
Crucial information are as follows:
01| You MUST be a member of Buzzjack for a period of 3 months minimum before you are eligible to participate in this contest.
02| Don't bother sending the artists that placed Top 3 in the previous month, because that's just Ramrynian-like (I joke Ryan!)
03| We all know by now that songs that have been previously submitted cannot be sent again, am I correct?
04| Do research prior to entering your song and compare it to the updated veto framework.
05| Eurovision songs (either this year or any year since the formation of it) is BANNED.
06| If you failed to vote overall last month, then unfortunately you'll have to just speculate.

I get the distinct feeling there are a few people plumping for a song that won a song contest on a redacted other forum by nearly 2 to 1 over its nearest competitor

Word on the grapevine is it's been entered like 5 times anyway so it'll almost certainly be vetoed. Maybe someone will then send it next month and win, taking a leaf out of Yu's book ~
It is actually a very good song! Not surprised at the high demand.
I assume you are actually entering this month?! Cumulonimbia were sorely missed in LXXIII.
Was going to change my entry and go completely veto-scraping this month, might still do if someone else has already taken the entry I want.

There have been some problems at work the past couple of weeks and I've had next to no time to get the surprise ready. It will definitely happen, just not sure when (hopefully in the next couple of months when everything has calmed down)!

Big hits in PJSC often don't cross over in BJSC anyway - Oh, Be Clever's 'Next To You' did (yes I'm calling you out on that Yu x) but many others haven't at all, including CRIMINALLY 'Tigerhead' which was a deserved smash on PJSC but somehow DNQed here.
And as I said earlier, the song that came 2nd behind Billie on PJSC only came 14th here (Marian Hill - I'm quite surprised PJ were more receptive to that than we were to be honest!)

Yeah, the opposite seemed to happen with Elizabeth Rose, came 10th in our contest but 32nd in their contest!

The best thing about PJSC is how well Asian entries tend to do there. Megitsune was a top 10 IIRC and Iinadukeblue managed to come 2nd <3.
Plus I find it funny how often entries turn up in both contests in the same month, and not only by the posters who enter both.
So weird how they do it all in one thread though, must be SO confusing.
(oh yeah, and I haven't confirmed yet, I am still taking my time to mull ~)

Only tangentially related but you should check out Hushkanukia's entry from last month (Jessica Lee 'Boomerang') if you haven't already, it sounded exactly like something I'd imagine you sending

I haven't seen it mentioned once here and the franework says nothung about youtube views, else the entries with 100 million+ views wouldn't get through.
And nearly every song charts low somewhere.
It just doesn't measure up against the framework.

Each little veto point gets added up to a total and if it reaches the maximum veto points it gets vetoed. All the little things like charting on the Hot 100, even charting on too many Personal Charts (which buggered up my fab entry

It does measure against the veto framework. "Chinese Food" has charted in the US in the past 24 months, which means it qualified for the 7 points along with the insane media coverage on the song giving it an additional 12 points which brought it down.

Actually, the veto framework is vigorously followed and many things over 10 points are put through.

If you're looking for potentials I suggest Yougling (?) for Patrice Wilson's other produced songs (that he produced Alison Gold's 2 songs and Friday) you could get lesser known songs from him. The view count thing just gives you a basic idea of how vetoable a song is. Chinese Food has 16m views whereas a song like Get In My Car has not even 0.5m views, so it probably has not been featured in half as many news sites or even has a thread about it!
