New album!

QUOTE
Sia has confirmed that she has finished work on a new studio album titled 'This Is Acting'.

The singer, who released latest solo album '1000 Forms Of Fear' in 2014, has already written and recorded its follow up and reveals early details of the record in an exclusive interview with NME which is on newsstands from tomorrow andavailable digitally.

Claiming that she only released '1000 Forms Of Fear' to get out of a record deal, Sia said: "Basically, I put this out to get out of my publishing deal.

"I was planning to be a pop song writer for other artists. But my publishing deal was as an artist so I had to put one more album out. I didn't want to get famous so I kept all the songs I wanted and had a lot of fun making it."

However, the success of the album has spurred her on to make more music. "I'm super productive. I have a full album ready to go and it's much more pop," she revealed. "I'm calling it 'This Is Acting' because they are songs I was writing for other people, so I didn't go in thinking 'this is something I would say'. It's more like play-acting. It's fun."

Sia has written songs for Beyoncé, Eminem and Rihanna among many others in recent years and 'Wolves' her collaboration with Kanye Westwas revealed earlier this month during New York Fashion Week.

Elsewhere in the interview she discussed the possibility of playing live as well as what led her to retiring from living life in the public eye.

Excitement! I'd like to hear the first single from it by the Autumn. But the prospect of a tour is even more exciting.

I really hope it's more like We Are Born that 1000 Forma Of Fear but I won't hold my breath. She says "more pop" but I think maybe another direction entirely, I stil think WAB and her previous eras were more alternative but equally also quite poppy so it's hard to tell. 1000 Forms Of Fear was ok but it just didn't have the same Sia magic that made me love her.

We Are Born is one of the greatest albums of the 21st century, but sadly I can't imagine her doing that kind of music anymore.

It feels like 1000 forms of fear is only just starting to make an impact after a quiet start. I don't think she should rush releasing another album just yet, not at least till the end of the year.

Excited, but I hope this doesn't mean that 'Big Girls Cry' doesn't get released as a single sad.gif

If this was still the 00s I'd settle for a Big Girls Cry / Fire Meets Gasoline double A-side.

I wonder if she's getting her face out for this era.

I hope she re-releases 1,000 forms of fear to include California dreamin, deja vu and you're never fully dressed without a smile. These are all fantastic tracks.

Wouldn't that make for a pointless re-release?

Plus they wouldn't exactly fit on the album either.

The style of those songs isn't that different to some of her other singles so don't see why they wouldn't fit on the album.

'You're Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile' is cheesy pop and 'Deja Vu' is disco pop, I can't think of anything else similar on the album.
