its so unlike sia but that is part of the fun. i struggle to comprehend how shakira would have actively turned this down?! did she hear it in tinny demo form. it's testament to her artistic idiosyncrasies that when you listen to this it's so ubiquitously shakira.

Baffling, to the degree of the Leona and Nicole (alleged) snubs of 'We Found Love'! Must've been a timing thing as there's really no other explanation considering it's absolutely tailor-made, as you say.

Anyway, I championed this as a single too long ago so am well over it at this stage :/. May well get a second wind if I can't escape it on radio etc. though~

I think it was meant for Shakira's self titled in 2014 I read, and she turned it down because she already had Dare on the album. Which still doesn't make sense, Dare is like a Poundland Move Your Body and I'd swap it out in a heartbeat, plus what was wrong with having both anyway? laugh.gif As Jake said perhaps it was just a rough demo and didn't have the same magic the version we know has, I suppose we'll never know! It's completely baffling regardless.

You have to wonder if it sounded different as a demo? The Sia song on 'Shakira' is a little meh if I remember.
