BuzzJack Music Forum _ UK Charts _ YTD T40 Albums (with estimated sales)

Posted by: vidcapper 23rd November 2019, 07:53 AM

V2 :

YTD Sales : Please read these guidelines before you request sales estimates, it makes my task a lot easier.

1. Be specific - please name the artist and title for each entry you'd like an estimate for.
2. I log sales for all albums that have charted this year, but only update those that have sold enough to reach my 200 position tracking range
3. If an album isn't in the current Top 100, I won't be able to update its sales until Tues. Also, please don't ask about ex-T100 albums too often - once a month at most)
4. Remember to check the thread before requesting estimates - they may already have been answered. Also, no more than half-a-dozen requests at a time, thanks.
5. Please note my figures are combined sales & streams, and since I have no way of separating them, I cannot provide a split.
6. While I am no longer estimating singles sales, I can provide YTD singles positions from C+, and I am still maintaining my sales archive based on published figures (PM me if you want to see it)

Thank you.

Ed definitely needs a new version of his album too to catch Lewis now. Amazing to see ASIB still comfortably top ten, might stay in top 12/15.

Posted by: Steve201 23rd November 2019, 10:12 AM

Lewis will pull ahead now easily enough - be the biggest seller over the next 5/6 weeks and end up on 600-650k

I really thought Ed was gonna go for an expanded version cos sure he has some leftovers
we already know the duet with Ariana that was accidentally put on Spotify a while ago

He obviously isn't doing this album for it to be as successful as possible. It is a bit of a vanity project, he isn't doing any performance promo. I'm not sure he was gunning for anything bar doing something different from his recent norm.

Posted by: Steve201 24th November 2019, 01:11 AM

He's not done bad then has he!

Posted by: Bjork 24th November 2019, 12:14 PM

he might not be doing tv promo but
the album and singles are pushed on Spotify like crazy, same for radio
thats promo too
he's constantly had 3 songs on all imaginable spotify playlist for the last 6 months

It's not like Ed has any say in Spotify or playlisting. Of course his label will be pushing for playlisting and to earn what they can out of this project but I think it is clear this wasn't Ed looking for massive commercial success. This is more a massaging his ego project, which at this stage of his career ge can do.

Posted by: Steve201 24th November 2019, 01:19 PM

Hope he waits until 2021 to release new proper material again!

Posted by: Bjork 24th November 2019, 01:25 PM

I think Ed/his label are obviously looking for chart success, as much #1s and as much $$$ as possible
the album has done worst than divide cos the target audience this time was younger + the CD market has collapsed

Posted by: Steve201 24th November 2019, 03:06 PM

That's a good point but I think he could end up becoming oversaturated if he releases next year.

Posted by: slowdown73 24th November 2019, 07:23 PM

Lewis Capaldi should get a big boost this week with the reissue of his album.

Posted by: Steve201 24th November 2019, 09:34 PM

He should be top 3 behind Robbie & Coldplay!

I know you don't really follow the singles much but do you know the total so far for 'Bruises'.

Wow that's decebt, knew it would have decent figures due to it being popular all year before it was chosen as a single.

I edited my post just above Vidcapper's as I had similar sales to what vidcapper had but thought there must have been a mistake (for example 'Dance Monkey' is above 'Bruises on the year to date chart but overall has sold less). I'd forgotten that 'Bruises' dates back to 2017 and that the week the track first charted, back in February 2019 (at number 95) it had already sold just over 200,000.

Seeing Coldplay rather weak first week sales, I think there will be no change inside top 10 of the year. Both Robbie and Coldplay may score top 20 at best.

Class it had sold so much before charting!

Anyone know sales for Mabel ?

High Expectations
Ivy To Roses ?

Posted by: common sense 30th November 2019, 10:06 AM

With 215,200 needed for Top 10 I think Robbie will easily be in there by Dec. 31st.
