How I compile my charts:

With a few exceptions, I don't go out of my way to seek out new songs - I usually wait until I hear them on the radio. I mainly listen to Radio 1 and for this reason, most (though not all) songs in my chart are those which are played on Radio 1. I don't usually add a song to my chart until it's started gaining some airplay.

Songs generally tend to climb gradually as they grow on me, peak and then fall fast, so the chart looks similar to an 80s/90s singles chart. I also usually get bored of a song within a few weeks, so songs don't generally tend to hang around the chart for more than a few weeks - typically around 9 or 10 weeks for a Number 1.


This week's chart commentary:
* The Vaccines make it three Top 10 singles in a row and their sixth altogether, as 'Dream Lover' climbs to #8 this week; they have never missed the Top 20 on this chart.
* All Time Low get their second ever Top 10 single with 'Kids In The Dark, following 'I Feel Like Dancin', which made #8 in 2011.
* It looks like Wiz Khalifa & Charlie Puth's collaboration 'See You Again' has peaked at #21, making it the lowest peaking official Number 1 of the year so far on this chart.
