was literally just pining for new material! y a s s

Posted by: danG 11th September 2016, 05:36 PM

this better be good, though I've not got my hopes too high considering it's for a film (and the same one that produced Ellie Goulding's poor single)

It's out on Tuesday. I'm assuming it'll get a Radio 1 premiere or something and then be out straight away.

Posted by: Taylor Jago 11th September 2016, 06:45 PM

Hopefully it's good!

Apparently it's out on Tuesday. Why are people releasing their songs on Tuesday all of a sudden?

Posted by: awardinary 11th September 2016, 07:09 PM

Such a shame Worship was a flop. sad.gif

Years & Years making a ballad is like suggesting Westlife would release a club anthem! blink.gif

They premiered the track at Bestival and you could watch it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFPfqr40XNM.

That said, I can't wait to listen to the studio version to be honest!

sounds like Y&Y by numbers. i'm in.

Posted by: lewistgreen 12th September 2016, 06:27 AM

Premiering on Radio 1's breakfast show tomorrow.

Posted by: Bjork 12th September 2016, 07:02 AM

so Tuesday now is the new international release day? smile.gif

Posted by: *.* 12th September 2016, 07:09 AM

tbh it's a great idea to have Tuesday as Global Release Day because that way songs have time to pick up momentum before debuting in the top 40, and they'd presumably debut a week on Friday.

People have always ignored the normal release day, it happened when it was Sunday and it's happening when it's Friday, it's not big news tongue.gif

Really hooked on this wub.gif

god i luv em

Posted by: dandy* 13th September 2016, 04:59 PM

After being initially unimpressed, they've gone and sucked me in again... still a bit of a Communion leftover but that's better than most indie pop acts could hope for.

Posted by: mdh 14th September 2016, 06:42 AM

Getting into this. It's just paint-by-numbers Years and Years really, nothing particularly special but it's nice.

Posted by: Joe. 14th September 2016, 06:47 AM

It's bit generic, but I like it and hope it grows.

Posted by: Bjork 14th September 2016, 08:07 AM

disappointing, sounds like a Communion leftover rather than a stepping stone to album 2 :/

Posted by: Klumzee 14th September 2016, 10:57 AM

Got to hear the premiere of this live at Bestival! Didn't totally realise was going on at the time (LOL) but it sounds a lot better in studio than live. To me it was v. Y&Y by numbers but the chorus in particular sounds brill in studio! Surprised it's not really picking up a little bit more on iTunes but I suppose they haven't really left us alone for the last couple years!!

It probably is. That's often the case with Soundtrack sounds. They get bought from album leftovers and are just re-mastered somewhat.

Reduced to 59p on iTunes can't see it having a huge impact though?

Posted by: Martyn 30th September 2016, 12:01 AM

Why are Years and Years not pop?

Posted by: jakewild 30th September 2016, 08:10 AM

luv the vid. still a solid bop but i am definitely ready for a fresh batch of material now.

this is prob a top 3 of theirs for me now. master of the catchy hook ❣️

Posted by: Inna Selez 4th October 2016, 06:23 PM

Don't know why Olly reminds me Johnny Weir. Maybe because of his dancing and plasticity?

Posted by: Cameron 4th October 2016, 08:20 PM

Absolutely love this!

Posted by: Juranamo 4th October 2016, 08:43 PM

Don't really understand why this isn't taking off, it's such an undeniable jam. sad.gif

Posted by: jase. 4th October 2016, 09:37 PM

It's very camp wub.gif Really liking this now!

Posted by: Karma 4th October 2016, 09:49 PM

Really surprised this isn't doing as well as I expected.
