1980s Top 40 Rate - The Synth Off Part 3
Hoorah, we've finally filled all 40 positions in our Ultimate Top 40 final. 11-40 have been firmly decided, but what about the Top Ten (and the wildcard)? Below are the winners vs the runner ups of the numbers 1 to 10, plus the 41-75 rates: 1. Madonna - Like A Prayer vs Black Box - Ride On Time 2. A-Ha - Take On Me vs The Pogues Feat Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale Of New York 3. Kate Bush - Running Up That Hill vs New Order - Blue Monday 4. Prince - When Doves Cry vs Madonna - Open Your Heart 5. Kate Bush - Babooshka vs Fleetwood Mac - Little Lies 6. Teardrop Explodes - Reward vs Rufus & Chaka Khan - Ain't Nobody 7. Prefab Sprout - The King Of Rock N Roll vs Abba - Lay All Your Love On Me 8. Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark - Enola Gay vs Michael Jackson - Smooth Criminal 9. Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush - Don't Give Up vs Echo & The Bunnymen - The Killing Moon 10. Michael Jackson - Thriller vs Pretenders - Don't Get Me Wrong 41-75. Journey - Don't Stop Believin' vs Jesus & Mary Chain - Just Like Honey If you want to change the outcome, this will be your ONLY chance to do so. Simply pick your winner of each peak position. If there is a tie, then the original victor will secure their place in the final. A very short time for this I'm afraid - until Tuesday 14th July - 6am ish in fact. So, will all the winners be safe? It's up to you. This post has been edited by AH Gold: Jul 14 2015, 06:18 AM |

Jesus (and Mary Chain) why on earth does everyone love Journey so much? Oh well, I'll vote for JAMC anyway! Will be disappointed if Prefab Sprout go as they've been on the list since the very first rate (and LAYLOM is not one of Abba's best either)

Journey - Don't Stop Believin' it pained me not to vote for The Pretenders, Pogues & Kirsty as I love them just as much as the rivals.... as for this heresy that LAYLOM is not one of Abba's best, I'm aghast! Oh. Yes. It. Is. The one I don't get is Prefab Sprout. Not only is it not in the same league as the others, it's not even the same league as much better Prefab Sprout tracks like Cars & Girls, Cowboy Dreams, Faron Young and many others fabulous tracks. Basically it was their annoying novelty song Pah! |
