BuzzJack Music Forum _ R&B and Hip-Hop _ Savage Remix feat. Beyoncé

Posted by: Infludexton* 30th April 2020, 03:25 AM

A remix was released last night by Megan Thee Stallion featuring Beyonce on her latest single Savage! All proceeds go to coronavirus relief smile.gif Beyonce feels like a big part of this song compared to her remix feature on Mi Gente or even her chorus on Walk On Water tbh. She reminded me of Lizzo on first listen but she's already growing on me better laugh.gif I can get behind more urban features from Bey tbh this is great music.gif

This is currently Top 20 in the UK and Top 15 in the US, boosted by Beyonce plus it's already a popular song through TikTok etc.could this become a really huge hit? ohmy.gif

I am enjoying this

LOVE THIS!!! I loved how they reworked the song for this remix with Megan putting in new verses. Bey's flow changes up so many times in this remix. I prefer this over the original to be honest.

It's a marked improvement from her other features across the past few years. As you mention Dexton, her presence is all through the song and it's not a random tag along. I like it!

It really surprises me how Beyoncé is all over this song - I was expecting a half-arsed verse tacked on the end. I really like it.

Screaming at her mentioning Only Fans, get that coin girl *___*

This is really growing on me with every listen! I checked out the original and this is infinitely better in my opinion dance.gif

Yeah I much prefer this now compared to the original wub.gif

This is up to #4 in the US now! A fantastic boost for the song given the remix was only available for one tracking day *.* Beyonce isn't credited just yet as the original counted more sales however I highly expect her to be credited next week as the Savage Remix streams are far greater than the original. If this makes it to #1 then it'll be Beyonces 11th #1 single in the US (including DC + solo)

Posted by: dan-G 6th May 2020, 07:42 AM

it’s being predicted to rise to number one next week!

Posted by: Infludexton* 8th May 2020, 05:53 PM

#3 this week in the UK!

Glad the song is getting the success it deserves, especially the remix as it makes the song so much better! Shame it might have to block Say So if it goes #1 in the US though, wish they could both get there

Posted by: Euphorique 8th May 2020, 11:37 PM

I wonder if she'll get the credit in the US

Posted by: Infludexton* 9th May 2020, 02:08 AM

I believe she will be credited in the US as the Savage Remix will have far overtaken the sales of the original and that’s how credits work over there! Similar to when Perfect/Duet were charting and the credit changed back to just Ed Sheeran after the remix hype had died down. Meaning IF it goes to #1 she will be credited, likewise how IF Say So goes to #1 Nicki Minaj will get the credit also

Hopefully it can be #1 this week and next will will be week #2 boosted by this Major Lazer remix - which unfortunately uses the original vocals instead of the remix but should still help overall!

It doesn't just depend on sales, it depends on airplay too. The airplay of the original seems to be higher - its the reason people are already saying Nicki wont be credited on the Say So charting, cause the airplay for the original is huge

Oh definitely, airplay will take the longest to update to the remix too and even then chances are the original will still get a big clump of the total airplay.

This is up to #2 in the US just behind Doja Cat's Say So! A fantastic climb if not a #1 but fingers crossed this can overtake Say So eventually

Seems like leaching into hit songs of other artists is Beyonce's only way of getting chart success these days. teresa.gif

This is incredible, one of the best songs of the year!

Was there any talks of a video?

it is now at US #1 - giving Beyonce her 11th #1 and she's the first to have #1s in the 90s, 00s, 10s and 20s with new songs (Mariah previously did it on the technicality of AIWFCIY being #1 at the end of the 10s/start of the 20s).

Amazing! cheer.gif I’m so happy this has gone #1 wub.gif Savage truly deserves it, I wasn’t a big fan of the original but Beyonce just elevated it to an incredible level

For reference her previous #1s were: Crazy In Love (2003), Baby Boy (2003), Check On It (2006), Irreplaceable (2006), Single Ladies (2008), Perfect Duet (2017), plus Bills, Bills, Bills (1999), Say My Name (2000), Independent Women Part 1 (2000), and Bootylicious (2001).
