Really looking forward to this.
Hopefully we get an album this year, or even an EP.
Good to see she has lined up the follow up to let's go home together, I kinda see this as an important single to get right to keep the momentum going.
Think this ia a make/break moment, hopefully they get it right, and she canestabliush herself as a proper artists that people follow and buy albums from rather than an anonymous backing singer (sadly) like Becky Hill or Raye
She needs a hit in her own right, to be honest.
But whether a banger or a ballad will do it is anyone's guess.
Ella will feature on the new Rudimental album on a song call Handle My Own.
I don't really know what I want from her.
I adore Take Care Of You and Dream On Me but they weren't successful. I find Let's Go Home Together okay but not really a sound I enjoy her on much, but it was successful and I want her to be successful so...
Play to the hetties, I guess, sis x
Ella is in quite a strange marketing position. Not really a ‘cool’ dance artist for a younger audience like Becky Hill is, her latest ballads didn’t seem to cut through and in her heart she loves soul, RnB, Gospel but that doesn’t sell!
For a solo single she’s probably best keeping to upbeat pop. But clearly needs a very very good song to get anywhere.
Ps. The poppy Take Care of You just got accredited Silver so it’s done pretty well tbh. The charts are increasingly difficult and stream playlist dominated and maybe we need to move on from just judging success by them.
It's hard to know what would be the best sound for the next single, I'd live it to be a pop banger and a big hit for her.
I'm not really confident she can achieve a hit single totally solo, but I want her to do well and I hope 'Let's Go Home Together' has at least set her up for whatever comes next.
i imagine it'll be much more singer-songwriter orientated than the dance stuff.
Even she can keep getting hits with features etc I'd be happy, I'd love solo hits but anything is better than nothing.
I'd rather have an album that more dance collabs, it's been 8 years since Chapter One!
I never thought her follow up album would take as long, we could be looking at a 10 year anniversary before album 2 comes.
well I think there was a 2nd album that never happened cos of Syco
there was an album with Syco (I believe the lead single was called 'Ugly') and they decided to drop her in favour of Louisa (for some reason the thought of two female artists was too much work?)
Simon Cowell had big plans for Louisa from the off but ella shouldn't have been punished for it, her debut was a great success and its such a shame the momentum was lost.
If that's actually true, it turned out to be an incredibly stupid idea.
Very stupid i agree, i remember Louisas year on x factor and from the start you could tell Simon wanted her win, why he ever prioritized over ella is beyond me as ella was doing so well..
I would welcome this new single to come soon.
Let's Go Home Together has achieved a good Top 40 chart run and needs to be followed up quickly.
I’m sure we’ll get something within the next few weeks.
At least I hope we do. If I was to guess I’d say July 30.
Let's Go Home Together is now certified Gold (July 2).
Sorry if it's already been mentioned.
New single out Friday called Risk It All, and is a collaboration with House Gospel Choir and Just Kiddin.

Sounds decent - back to another dancey song by the sounds of it!
I’m liking the very brief snippet.
Agree it seems like a dance song but I also think we’ll get an acoustic/piano version of it at some stage as well.
It sounds shite
Not sure based on the snippet.
Sounds a bit Eurovision and not in a good way.
Strange marketing going a gospel choir route, although she does personally like gospel tbf.
Just when you thought she was trying to modernise the ‘old person in a young body’ image…
But in the end maybe that’s what makes her more unique??!
there was me expecting another 'lets go home together'
I like Ella and would have liked to see several of her singles become hits... but from the snippet it sounds like this is going to be another "nothing-new-non-event".
i'm guessing shes not recording an actual album if her music is all over the shop
I'm not too sure about the snippet but I loved both 'Take Care of You' and 'Dream on Me' so still perched to hear this in full
I really hope we do get a proper album soon, I’d even settle for another EP.
It's so hard to know with Ella, I dont think she has found her groove with the direction she wants to go in, each single almost feels like a stand alone single. I'd love an album from her but if she does it's hard to know how many of the recent singles would be on it. All this aside its good to see having some success with the singles.
I find it curious that she's not doing more songs in the vein of Ghost. This sounds very Becky Hill from that snippet but I'm not mad.
I actually love the sound and idea of this!
It's rare we get a gospel choir featuring in a dance track!
I agree though, surely there isn't currently an album coming? The tracks are all over the place.
Unless they're doing the classic 'You have to prove yourself popular' before we can give you an album...
i assumed with the success of 'lets go home together' and the lack of success of the 'dance' songs, the obvious direction was an indie-pop record but alas it seems not.
I’m not sure radio will be straining at the leash to play some ‘gospel dance’!
But hey happy to be proven wrong…
Lets go home together was a big success so part of me thought she might go for that style of song again as in a slower song, i do enjoy her dance tracks in equal measure though.
Just gave this a listen and it’s alright.
I prefer Let’s Go Home Together but it’s still decent. Hoping it’ll grow more.
Nah not for me.
The chorus just doesnt cut it.
A very strange single choice.
It's not terrible. I quite like the production on the chorus tbh
I’m gutted this is such a poor single choice!
It’s so bland
I think this is quite alright!
Remains to be seen whether it does anything though, I'll be forever bitter about 'Dream On Me'.
Yeah its okay.
Standard Ella generic dance song.
Doubt it will be a hit, but I thought Dream on Me would smash and it didn't make the Top 100, so what do I know?
'dream on me' was never going to be a hit lol
Dream on me should have scraped top 40. The problem was the sample wasn’t upfront and strong enough.
A missed opportunity.
This song just doesn’t have a good enough melody.
btw this just sounds like 'highs and lows' by Emeli Sande to me?
It's grown on me a little with more listens but still think it's not quite there.
for what I understand she said on a R2 interview her 2nd album will be out early 2022,
won't feature no duets and lead single will be out later in the year (Nov)
so... not sure what this is really...
This is a decent song, but just a bit generic. I agree, Dream On Me will be one of her best and deserved so much better .
I'll take "early 2022" with a pinch of salt, at this point she's the girl who cried album.
That 2nd album is so long coming that i wont get my hopes up, risk it all isnt bad but i think going to be very throwaway and forgotten quickly.
99 in todays mids.
Eeek, looks like it’ll miss the top 100.
Ya it's looking that way unless things improve in the next week or 2
The acoustic version is out today and I rather like it.
I hope the acoustic can get it over the line into the top 100.
Makes the top 100 this week at Number 100.
#100 is better than nothing but that's such a misfire, don't know what they were thinking when releasing this...
It almost feels like they don't have a plan and record one song at a time and release it.
I think there may be some link with the Gospel group via Rudimental on this.
Whatever it was a dud.
Hurricane with Ofenbach is much better, but I agree there’s little focus. And how this all fits with a new album who knows!
Ya i agree, i thnk long term focus is missing and each single is like a one off, based on the last few releases you just couldnt call wha t her album would be like. I would like all the recent singles/features to feature on her album even if only on the digital version to help streaming but i really cant see a full studio album coming for a long time.
I think 'Let's Go Home Together' may have just been for Tom's album? If you ignore that the other recent Ella singles are a lot more cohesive.
Risk it all is 96 in the mid weeks.
Agree with those saying it's a dud, unfortunately.
Hurricane is a lot better.
its very strange what her and her team are doing... there seems no executed plan behind anything they do.
They had a hit with Tom Greenan, so the sensible thing would be to follow that sound but alas they've gone back to the sound that she's had zero success in as a solo star?
The problem for Ella and dance music is it probably isn’t a sustainable option for her. She needs a well known collaborator to create a hit single and she’s gone through quite a few already! She’s probably got Joel Corry, Shane Codd and the likes of David Guetta, which is very unlikely, left on the list!
I’m sure her heart is more in RnB and Soul, but pop is where she needs to get to maintain a profile.
For now the reality is, 7 years after Ghost, she’s a jobbing artist earning where she can.
I’d hope she could launch a pop oriented album for Christmas, then push it through on her support tour for The Script.
Longer term I could see her moving to TV where she seems quite comfortable and talented.
I think Ella mentioned on het Facebook or Instagram stories that she was doing an album shoot today. Or was I looking at an old post?
Just Kiddin VIP Mix;
Ella could nearly release a greatest hits as her 2nd album if she includes all her collabs and solo singles.
KC Lights remix;
With risk it all only making number 100 and her feature on the ofenbach track and the Paige Dougall track both not charting, its just so hard to call everything with Ella. Lets go home together has had a great chart run and gone platinum but there is huge inconsistency with both her music style and chart success its hard to see where she will be in the next year or 2.
I would love if she became more established in one of her fields of interest, dont get me wrong i totally understand she needs to earn money like the rest of us and hats off to her, but i would love to see become more established again and in the ideal world have a reasonably successful second album.
Looking at next year she has a European tour supporting The Script so that may give some opportunity to develop a mainland Europe presence. Maybe more dance features like Ofenbach.
In the UK, she seems to know Joel Corry well so I can see a collaboration there. Maybe another duet, even with James Arthur. And at least one solo single like Take Care of You. I just can’t see a solo album getting any traction or her ‘traditional’ music like on the Glorious EP.
I think the year after next is when she can hit real problems with this rambling approach.
A Joel Corry based on his current success would be a great coup for Ella, and maybe she will get a couple of more features which all helps keep her name out there, it will be interesting to see what songs she performs as the support act on the Scripts tour.
i really would (if i were her team) push her nearer The Script than Joel Corry. Obvs i wouldn't say no to a dance banger but it really doesn't seem to be something anyone wants from her...
