So the girls are rumoured to be releasing a collab with another artist soon and Nathan Dawe liked the following tweet fuelling rumours it it could be him .

He’s had a few streaming hits this year so this could potentially be good for the girls if true .

He remixed Break Up Song a few months back also !

This could potentially be a big hit for them both! I mean look at the success ‘Lighter’ had.. if this is true and it goes top 10 it will be their 3rd top 10 this year

As much as I'm excited to hear the girls on a proper DJ dance track, it does seem a bit odd considering Sweet Melody is showing no signs of slowing down.. I know they can have 2 but knowing Little Mix's luck it will somehow divide the attention rather than bring in more lol

True, never understood artists who release anything in the last 5/6 weeks of the year.

Dance artists like this tend to hang around though, so maybe it'll hang around through the Christmas music in the lower 20s and then peak in the New Year.

I can very much see that being the title. Little Mix's biggest strength is a "tears on the dancefloor" type of track and people love that from them.

I'm sure/hoping it will smash but a bit concerned about them being a bit overexposed at this point with Sweet Melody/the album/The Search and having released two other singles this year and Jesy's absence being all over the media.

I guess it depends when it's released and if they're going to try push it alongside Sweet Melody or wait until that dies down first...

The only thing is that nothing they’ve posted hints towards another music video filmed with the exception of when Jade posted that selfie with her new hair and the bedazzled Jade hat. They might’ve filmed this & SM back to back though. I can’t see this not having a video since it’s HIS song his label will be dealing with all of that

Nathan’s previous single was available to pre order like 9 days before it was released so he will probably do something like that again. That would mean the announcement is tomorrow! Even if he isn’t doing that, the latest it will be announced is Friday

This will probs be a generic club bop but they've never really done that before so I'm looking forward to it. Lighter was pretty good.

Also seems like they're co-leads (Nathan Dawe & Little Mix) so should boost their Spotify profile a bit. Hope they do a Mabel and add it to Confetti too.

I really hope the label do what mabel always does and adds it to the streaming versions of the album.

It will help them in the album charts SO much as it'll mean Holiday's streams won't be weighed down.

No Time for Tears - weighted down
Sweet Melody - weighted down
Confetti, BUS and Holiday will all be counted in full towards the album.

Which label is promoting NTFT? Nathan Dawe's?

Who knows what the plan is. Do you think it's possible the Confetti album gets a re-release in 2021? Now in the streaming era it's really hard for any post-album single to become a huge success. Usually it just doesn't work, so many artists release a lot of singles before the album and then their eras die soon after the album's release.

Little Mix released three singles before this album plus a few instant grats and I just don't know if any other song on the album could work as a single. Now they are releasing a collaboration with Nathan Dawe. I suspect there might be a few more singles (new material) released in 2021 and then an album re-release. The girls have a tour scheduled in 2021 and a re-release would make the album relevant again in time for the tour. This might explain why they didn't release a deluxe version of the album along with the standard.

I think most songs on this album were made with the intent to be singles, as the album is literally just a collection of singles. Happiness, Confetti, A Mess, Breathe are all top single contenders.

Is that the one that’s just studio footage with only Jade? If they’re gonna wait that long to upload it (which I understand because they want to have it smash after Christmas), I don’t get why they couldn’t film an actual video. We’ve seen the impact the Sweet Melody video had on the song and a real video without Jesy would still be better in my opinion than a behind the scenes video.

In all seriousness I also agree to an extent, I think it’ll definitely be a strong top 3 hit at least. Nathan Dawe is slowly growing and people enjoy him. People also like dance music & Little Mix are currently going from strength to strength too w/Confetti & Sweet Melody. Wouldn’t be shocked if this was massive in the UK.

The fact that Nathan is growing with each release and that LM have just had a big hit makes it even more likely imo, obviously it wasn’t based off of the sound of the song except the snippets we have heard, that’s just obvious.. My opinion could change when the song is released on Friday of course by as of now, i still think it could reach it due to the two artists involved, the sound of the snippets etc...

this is really fun! it's a dance song so it's not groundbreaking, but the vocals are really good. Perrie is really impressive, she has a really good vocal moment at the end. Jade is all over this song. Jesy is very present and doesn't just get a line (she gets the second verse and a bit of the bridge)

How can you go from Sweet Melody into this? It's like ordering steak, having the steak and wanting a cheesecake for a desert to be told that there's none and you've build up high hopes because the steak was so good.

I like the bridge which is easily the highlight of the song and Perrie's vocals are insane but the song itself is a bit too generic for myself, Jesy's verse seems so out of place in the song too, I'm sure it will grow but it's huge a disappointment and very underwhelming and it feels a step in the wrong direction for them as artists? It just seems like a sigala / becky hill reject for me.

I'm sure Capital will spin the hell out of it though but I can't see it being a long running hit - i expect more of a Holiday chart run with a top 10 debut.

But you have to remember this isn’t their song. It was written with the intent to be a dance song- it also isn’t a Sweet Melody follow up. It’s not fair to put this in the same category as their singles and judge then as such, they’re a featured artist. It may not be brilliant but it certainly isn’t their fault..

Eek, I'm kinda disappointed. Not a fan of the slow sections in Jesy's verse and the bridge, definitely takes away from the high energy of the chorus. Think it could still be a hit for them though.

Yeah; I think that's what sets it out for me too. Only You is nice and I enjoy it in some moods but it lacks a chorus, and had a lazy drop whereas this doesn't chicken out and gives us a big anthems chorus. I agree it's a bit faceless, but what do we really expect from a dance collab?

The lazy drop in 'Only You' is what puts me off too. I had a listen back and Little Mix's vocals were more distinct in that than I remembered, but the rest of the song just wasn't for me. 'No Time For Tears' might be quite faceless in its production too but I'm much more fond of this type of summery house style.

I’ve tried so hard to love Confetti because I genuinely like the girls a lot I even went to the same school as Jade but it just hasn’t grabbed me as a whole album their weakest album except for DNA. But this track with Nathan is fantastic and will fare better on the charts than what anything left on Confetti would.

Kinda irritating seeing people not understand that song isn't the girls' song but rather someone else's and they are just collaborating, so it's not their sound lol like it's a dance song by a new UK DJ, it's not going to be imprinted with signature sound and dripping with his personality.

The girls do enough, they sing their assess off and it still has that playful Little Mix sound, especially where they break the melody and rhythm apart for Jesy's part, that's a classic Little Mix move.

Meh I can see Little Mix doing better than him on streaming sites though surely. Liam won’t peak on streams just yet but I think the girls fanbase combined with Nathan’s and possible good playlisting etc will see them debut higher than him officially. They’re actually in a good position right now to drop another track. I think Sweet Melody has really turned things around for them not like they were in the s*** before but I’d say it’s their most popular song since Touch so they may as well strike while the iron is hot and get something else out there as the Confetti era will likely not get any more single pushes till spring time.

AJ Tracey (this would never have had a higher debut than him, imo) and a Miley Cyrus promoted album track (which is obviously receiving major hype atm).

I think it's just down to people starting Christmas early this year and not bothering with NMF and just getting their Christmas decorations up etc.. The impact date isn't until Jan so no cause for concern right now (and it's performance on Apple Music & iTunes tells me that it's obviously connecting with people)

(Still a much lower debut than I'd have expected though)

Dance songs are weird though... they either take off straight away or take a couple of months. Nathan's team have the intention of pushing this after Christmas. I assume the earlier release is just to get some familiarity to it so that it's in the prime position to take off?

Tbf, I don't really know how dance acts manage their songs as I don't follow them (genuinely seems to be a new one every other week that randomly takes off lmao). I just think, with this one we (really) have to be patient and trust that Nathan and his team know what they are doing/have a plan in place. I genuinely can't not see this becoming a big top 5 smash. It seems to be in line of what the public usually love from these dance artists to me lmao (only difference being that this has a more melodic chorus!)

Songs released around this time never do well during their first few weeks, cause of Christmas, and once Christmas is over the remaining songs left in the top 50 are usually the newer songs that were released in December and then they increase. So it’s a smart move, it’s just important for stans/chart followers etc to remember that songs won’t rise much during this time

Only You has a bit more emotional depth behind it but the lack of chorus really hurt it and the breakdown wasn’t enough to make up for it.

No Time for Tears sounds more Little Mix, it has a massive chorus, complex vocals, disjointed chorus/verses etc. Also Perrie’s run at the end is probably one of her strongest vocal performances.

People just aren't streaming the normal playlists apart from really big hits now. It's the only time of the year where "today's hits" isn't the #1 playlist on Apple for example: two Christmas playlists are ahead.

Nathan’s team have planned this release very well. They obviously know the Christmas songs will leave the charts very soon so they are slowly increasing playlist support to get it higher on streaming ready for the first week after the Xmas songs leave.

I think it will peak around 5-8 but i wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a long running top 3 hit like Sweet Melody. Another top 5 hit would be amazing for the girls. I cant see it BUT i do still think with the right moves and if everything goes to plan then it MIGHT go number 1 (but i would say the chances are quite slim now) so yeah a top 5/10 peak.

Very promising to see it reacting well to the Apple music playlisting too

Bounce Back is nowhere near their worst, it’s somewhere in the middle for me. BB is certainly better than their LM5 singles at least.

NTFT is better than the awful OY but it’s still a bit meh for a dance song really. It’s a shame they never worked with better dance producers like Calvin Harris in his peak (their vocals would be sublime on a We Found Love or a Call My Name!).

Maybe I just have too high hopes for this But until we're certain of how it looks likely to be performing, I'm not gonna panic too much. I think it sounds like Nathan and his team have a solid plan in place.

I think they originally were aiming for the #1 but the song clearly isn't catching on the way Sweet Melody did, but I think it could go top 10 given how good Atlantic are. And solid longevity once it's top 50 on Spot.

Yep, it's stable. Needs to start making moves on Spotify now that their numbers are starting to pick up again, tho.

I wonder if now that Confetti 100% cant be number 1 this week, there will be a streaming party for No Time For Tears at some point in the next couple of days? Tomorrow is focussing in getting SM on TTH but on Wednesday there could def be a push for NTFT to get a push! In a bid to capitalise on the planned buying on iTunes/Amazon push!

They announced they would be doing a mass buy event in time for NTFT on impact week (I assume physicals week?) it's no good organising one for this week, having it fall the following week and having no funds to capitalise on the impact week/when everyone else has already bought their copies etc..

I'm holding off from buying all versions until physical release week, personally. I'm streaming though!

I don't know why this isn't taking off i've been playing it constantly since release. I think it's been cock blocked by Sweet Melody which judging by their previous 4/5 singles wasn't supposed to still be troubling the top 20 never mind being number 1 at this point.

Why’s Nathan doing this now?

Next week it will just fall again and then runs the risk than fans downloaded early so the plan of buying all on release won’t have the same impact!

Seems really odd to me he should be encouraging streaming

Also it’s a dance track...Clubs are closed. I don’t think that helps.

Also if you look at Paradise that was released a whole month before and has only just started to gain traction into the top 10.

If a song is going to sell, it’s going to sell. Clubs may be closed, but ‘get out of my head’ is currently selling well despite this and it’s also a dance track.

NTFT will do well if people like it. I love it so I hope it’s another top 10 hit for the girls!

I guess I’m sure Get Out My Head has been impacted too though, I’m sure it would have been even bigger / climbed much faster with clubs open.

The weekend effect was definitely still a thing.

Just hope it keep climbing, Amazon and Spotify are letting it down at the moment.

Yeah I think Get Out My Head could have been a full smash like Head and Heart without lockdown. GOMH is another song (like Sweet Melody and NTFT) that isn't on Today's Top Hits and seems to be lower on Spotify (#19) than expected.

It's sad that an American playlist has so much power over our charts. Makes me kinda happy about Amazon/Apple Music getting a bigger market share.

You can all slag me off but in a weeks time we'll come back to this discussion....

No Time For Tears is appealing to a broader range of fans including Nathan Dawe fans. Having a clip of a teen girl dancing around in her room with her walls covered in Little Mix posters seems very odd and juvenile.

Granted it's not a Little Mix and LM aren't in the video but we go from Sweet Melody to something like this which is the complete opposite of a slick 'cool' video.

Everyone knows I'm widely hated on here but you have to real about how the current charts work and cutesy let's have a boogie to the song in our bedroom just isn't a vibe.

I like the song but it’s not like the videos gonna get that many views anyway. I can promise you, we will not be discussing this take in a week, because we will all have moved on from the the video already.

Also, a lot of Little Mix fans are teenage girls. And as a woman who was once I teenager, I’ve really grown to resent the idea that having teenage girls as your fanbase is a bad thing.

With all due respect Sweet Melody was such a success largely because everyone was talking about how good the video was, weeks after and even now.

I'd go as far as saying most teen girls actually hate Little Mix and it's seen as uncool, hence why Little Mix have been struggling on streaming platforms despite BUS/Holiday selling well they did really struggle to stay top 20 on nearly all platforms only really staying in the top 20 by default as songs hit ACR (I could ask all my sisters friends who would all say they disliked Little Mix's music and she's 15, However she liked SM.

NTFT is another song which is way more relevant with other dance songs blowing up, I just think it's a mistake to then have a cutesy bubblegum pop fan lead video and Nathan at a bowling alley..

Joel Corry should have been more of an influence.

It's all just my opinion, I really don't mind if you all give me hate on me I'm used to it

As someone who works in a secondary school with teenage girls every day, I can assure you Little Mix are very popular with them! not to mention there being plenty of teenage girls at the three Little Mix concerts I've attended

You're referring to Little Mix stans though, which represent a very small group of younger fans.

They might be present everywhere on social media but there really isn't many (1/3k comments on insta photo's etc which include WW)

I for one, never post about Little Mix on Socials and neither do my friends who are big fans.


Surely it's obvious with the average streaming positions on all platforms for BB, TAU, BUS, HOLIDAY were 20/30's and they all struggled to stay high, unlike WLM (Which again alot of stans hated but it had a broader appeal because of Nicki)

Sweet Melody is perfect because it steers away from bubblegum cutesy pop so appeals further but then is still 'Little Mix'
