This Friday (6th May), the compilation BBC Radio 2 Sounds of the 80s: Volume 2 is released and the tracking list shows that All Saints have covered Madonna's beloved 'Like a Prayer'.

All Saints have exceeded my expectations with their comeback album so I'm looking forward to their interpretation of this classic; hopefully it follows on from the R&B, soulful sounds of that album with a controlled amount of harmonies.

Sounds more early Girls Aloud ballad than All Saints but I like how mystical they've tried to make it sound.

Oh it's terrible. Although I'm not surprised as the song really should never be covered.

Covering such an iconic song is always going to be hard, but I could just envision Florence + the Machine doing a wonderful interpretation with a full scale orchestra and make it sound really dark and chilling. I think that sort of tone is what All Saints were going for but didn't pull off.
