The losing entries:

Another round over and another 2 victims. We say goodbye to the QUEEN OF POP Madonna and the KING OF DANCE Calvin Harris. I don't know what happened with Madge sad.gif absolutely gutted that they've been eliminated. Maybe dandy* (I think) was right and it was too "of it's time" despite being a Madge classic. The Calvin forum has absolutely NOTHING to be ashamed of. If you'd have told me that the Calvin forum was gonna finish top half of the leaderboard and beat the likes of Madonna, Rihanna, Beyoncé & Ariana... I'd have laughed in your face. But for whatever reason, it just was not meant to be </3

Round 8 will be starting on Sunday, 9th June morning and once again will last two days with a one day playoff round. Mods, entries need to be PM'ed to Jonjo by Saturday evening at 23:59 (tonight). Remember it's gonna be our LAST double elimination!

Thanks so much for the amazing participation once again in round 7 and for giving us a personal best of 98 Votes for the game heart.gif

drama.gif Phew! A pretty close result against Calvin Harris. Well done for making the top half of the artist forums, Calvin mods!

I'm pleased that the 4 artist forums I co-mod (Britney Spears, Girls Aloud, Rita Ora & Spice Girls) have all made it into the Top 10. wub.gif

I'm glad that Calvin Harris went really further in this competition and he was close to get into the Top 10, so congrats to Dan and Lewis for doing that. I think my only complaint to them was using "We Found Love" so early, but I agree that they shouldn't be ashamed of anything at this point because I'm kind of sure they exceed the expectations of some of us, including mine.

I don't think it's a mess. I mean, posters tend to like/stan for female artists, so it was understandable that this scenario would happen, although I thought it wasn't going to be closer. Also, the Girls Aloud AF has more members than Calvin's, which is one of the newest AF and a little risky-ish too.

Not a bad placing for Calvin. From my perspective it seemed like after 'I Need Your Love' almost eliminated him, they treated every round as if it were their last and picked the most popular song left, starting with 'We Found Love' - that's not what I'd have done, but considering how many artists have been eliminated with their big guns still remaining, maybe it was a better strategy.

To be fair, it only really worked going with some of the big hitters... I doubt we'd still be in if we went with Blame, The Girls, Outside, My Way etc so the big songs had to be used really to see how far we'd get. I'm happy we got that far to be honest! Losing out to Cheryl was going to happen, and even though it was close, GA clearly have a bigger following on here.

very disappointed round
to think that Madonna is out when having the best discography of them all, and people like Zara or Dua are still in even if they barely have 2 good songs :/

also can't at the hate for Florence :/ she's one of the most talented singers the UK has seen in the last 10 years

Like A Virgin apparently wasn't that popular amongst buzzjack crowd.

And we are voting here for songs as have been said numerous times before, regardless of the fact that she has the best discography of them all.

Yeah people can't seem to grasp this concept can they. Still, Like A Virgin is one of my faves from her so shame it bombed here.

Calvin did extremely well to get this far, probably the best he could have achieved really.

La Isla Bonita
Vogue + Forbidden Love
Papa Don't Preach
Frozen
Hung Up
Like a Prayer

Is what was to come - we just needed a song for this round. What would people have gone for in retrospect instead of Virgin?

We had The Power of Goodbye, Jump and mainly Music as key potentials.

Did you send Ray of Light earlier? Think that would have done very well if not.

Yeah we sent that in Round 1. Like a lot of people, if we knew how many rounds there would be we'd probably have kept that for later!

I think Music could have been better choice. But that's just my opinion.

We very nearly went with Music as it's recognisable and modern but it's quite a polarising song within the Madonna fanbase. We figured Like a Virgin would be more popular with general fans.

That top 3 is on point *.* As for Madonna, I prefer most of her songs on that list over 'Like A Virgin' oops. Shame to see her out with so many classics left unused!

Preferring one person's song over another person's song is not the same thing as "hate".
