Thanks for posting that was a great read. Agree. The article hits on a few points why Kylie is successful and it is true. Kylie has always showed resilience and never gives up which many admire as it is a wonderful trait to have. There was certainly a time when it was not coll to like Kylie as most had wrote her off believing her time had well and truly passed. Kylie been Kylie more than proved everyone wrong. The article also triggered me with Parlophone, once Kylie signed it was really was the time when Kylie became a serious live performer and really started putting on spectacular shows that captivated everyone. |

Interesting excerpt from an OCC interview with Natasha Bedingfield on how Kylie ended up with a writing credit on Cheryl's 'Love Made Me Do It':
QUOTE In the interim between albums, Natasha has enjoyed songwriting both for herself and other artists. Most notably, Cheryl released one of Natasha's tracks in November 2018. Pop fans were shocked when it emerged that Cheryl's Top 40 comeback Love Made Me Do It had her, Girls Aloud bandmate Nicola Roberts, Natasha and Kylie Minogue listed as co-writers. With 18 Number 1s between them, that's a lot of female star power. How did the track come to be? "I was writing with The Invisible Men - I love them," Natasha explained. "I think it started as a song title. We were just having fun... there was no purpose. We just wanted to write a really good pop song. It just kind of came together and we didn't talk about who it would be for." So it wasn't a case of Natasha inviting Kylie, Cheryl and Nicola around for a glass of wine and some nibbles then. She said she "wouldn't imagine Kylie and Cheryl being in the same room together". "A lot of times Kylie and Cheryl seem to have the same songwriters, and often have little bidding wars over songs so I've heard," Natasha told us. "That's not what happened with this one, but. Kylie changed some words, she's not big on writing. She's like 10%. But then it was just better. And then they used that for the Cheryl version. I wonder what Kylie's exact contribution was. I hope to God it wasn't the "I'm such a sucker, I fall in love with every fucker" line! |

I'm assuming she's added the "and I'd do it again" bit. Sounds like they could've fitted a random "yeah-yeah" bit in there and Kylie's actually added words to it.
Can't see her writing any of the other bits, most of it sounds very Nicola/Cheryl. |

Fever and Aphrodite place among VICE's 99 Greatest Dance Albums:
QUOTE 34. Kylie Minogue: Fever [Parlophone] 2001 Fever explores the ins and outs of sleepless nights on the dancefloor from moments buoyant ("Love At First Sight") to sensual ("In Your Eyes") to hypnotic ("Your Love"), all soundtracked by cold-hearted machines and a popstar's redolent soprano. Robots, a one-word refrain, and a vexing A-minor key helped make "Can't Get You Out of My Head" Kylie Minogue's biggest hit. 10. Kylie Minogue: Aphrodite [Parlophone] 2010 "Can you feel me on your stereo?" asks pop goddess Kylie Minogue on the title track of her eleventh studio album named for another goddess. Shedding the skin of introspection, Minogue unabashedly puts her hands up on the dancefloor. With production from Stuart Price, Calvin Harris, Ingrosso, Nervo, and Richard X, it's like b2b night at your favorite glitter rave. Two of Kylie's best albums, very pleased to see them both recognised among all those classic dance records. Surprised to see Aphrodite place above Fever and to be Top 10 too! |

The 1989 version of 'Do They Know It's Christmas?' has finally been officially uploaded on YouTube in celebration of its 30th anniversary:
Kylie has a prominent part in the song, including singing the opening line. What are your thoughts on this more upbeat, SAW-produced version? |

I do enjoy this version.
The original is much superior but this would be my second most liked version. |

I loved it when it was released and for a few years preferred it to the original but I much prefer the original now.

I always welcome a Kylie song used.
That said, i don't enjoy Wow as much as i once did. The version on the Golden tour was very weak. |

Where I live Corona virus is starting to spread and our town is all but closed. Stay safe everyone no matter what part of the world you are in, we are experiencing really worrying times so let's hope we can all come out of this on the other side.

It's a strange and scary time and just shows us all how precious each day is as we never know what's lying around the corner.

From Who Magazine:
QUOTE Beautiful People 2020: Kylie Minogue Reveals She Still Finds It Difficult to Talk About Cancer Diagnosis
Life dealt Kylie Minogue a cruel blow when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005. Aged just 36, the Australian golden girl was in the middle of her Showgirl: The Greatest Hits Tour when she received the life-changing news. “It’s always such a difficult question to answer with a neat sentence, but cancer changed many things forever, and some things didn’t change at all," Minogue, now 51, tells WHO. "My view of the world was different, my destination, for the most part, was the same. Broader, for sure. I was even more passionate about the people and things that I loved, but life as I had known it was on hold." The star admits that at the time, "I tried to be positive, but I was also realistic with the need to allow some space for all of the other difficult feelings and emotions." For Minogue, it was those around her – both family and strangers – that gave her the strength to come out the other end of her diagnosis. "People shone so bright for me in those dark days. The strength my family showed was extraordinary. The love, support and the kindness of strangers! I was so very aware of, and grateful for, all that had gone before me." But, if Minogue were to sum up her experience in one neat sentence, it would be: "The research, the trials, the heartbreak, the loss, the progress, the love and the hope.” The singer has previously said she finds it difficult talking about her cancer diagnosis. "It’s deep and it’s long and it’s involved and it’s hard to really say what it was in a neat package," Minogue told ITV’s Jonathan Ross in 2015, adding, “It’s pretty strange.” |
