I can't call a winner out of this bunch (only that I'm pretty sure it won't be me :'(), it was very varied and I couldn't call who was who either.

NocheLuna up next who was repping the #foreignbloc this contest! He is revealed as the person behind Japanese rock band CLØWD. So nope, it wasn't Iz. Fun fact, I just looked on their website and not only have they listed the basics on their profile section like each band member and the instrument they play, but also their blood types and the kind of cigarettes that certain members smoke if applicable. So yeah, came out of there knowing more than I expected to! Anyway, back to the votes. NocheLuna not only lifts fellow unmasked member Dexton off 0 but also changes the leader due to his 12! This is now 'Go Go Go' by Panic Is Perfect which has received votes from both members so far. Also in this small club are Lomboy, Gretta Ray and Yellowcard.

That's interesting. Blood type must be something that is much more widely shared in Japanese culture I assume, it's on things like HeroAca mid-episode cards as well.

03. PeteFromLeeds ● Weathers - 1983

Next we go over to Pete who is currently sitting pretty in the top 10 at this very early stage with '1983' by Weathers. The chorus of this one definitely gets stuck in your head easily. Weathers are a band from Los Angeles and they have so far toured with both Saint Motel and Nothing But Thieves! Pete ensures that Panic Is Perfect are still leading, but AS IT IS are hot on their trail after receiving a full 12. Lomboy doesn't receive any points this time, so is kicked out of the little club of songs that have received points from 100% of participants so far, but Gretta Ray and Yellowcard are still there in addition to Panic Is Perfect. Will these songs stay up there at the end? Only time will tell.

Another on the "I thought that was Iz" train. Interestingly, in Japan, your blood type is seen like horoscopes is in the west, as in it can determine your personality traits (and of course, is b.s), and Japanese people are genuinely surprised when they meet people who don't know what their blood type is.

My blood type is A- , which means I can donate my blood to anyone with an A or AB blood type, but can only receive blood that is A- or O- . My dad's O- (the universal giver), which is the hardest blood type to get a transfusion with.

04. HarryEzra ● Boy Azooga - Face Behind Her Cigarette

Now it's time to unmask Harry's song! Flynnonda may be an underrated nation in BJSC, but right now in Nuggets he's sitting in the top 10 despite his own votes being revealed. His song was the incredibly catchy 'Face Behind Her Cigarette', which you could sing along to with ease as the video kindly provided onscreen lyrics. Boy Azooga apparently have a bit of a fanbase already, as their album was riding high in the top 20 of the midweek charts but sadly dropped out of the top 40 by the end of the week. Poor frontloaded hens. Harry's votes lift CLØWD off 0 and also change things at the top slightly because AS IT IS are now tied with Panic Is Perfect, exciting! Panic Is Perfect and Yellowcard are now the only acts who have received points from every voter so far, as Gretta Ray receives nil this time. Additionally, Kaleo is the first act so far to have received more than one set of 12 - all of their points so far are comprised of 'em!

The ordering of the songs for me was really odd, when cutting down to my Top 18, every song between #12 and #24 made the cut (oh and Loverboy came last in my votes so I'll predict Bré sending that one )

Loads of Asian acts seem to overshare information for some reason Like you can always seem to find the exact heights etc. of all members of K-Pop groups on their websites. Very strange ~

So it was NocheLuna playing the 'fooling us into thinking his entry is Iz or Brett' card this month really loved that one! Dexton's entry was a goodun too and definitely not the kind of thing I'd have expected from Dexton actually!

Wardy is our fifth reveal of the night! It turns out that he is behind Icelandic group Kaleo who are currently smashing it in the top 5 here *.* it came to my attention recently that 'No Good' features in a car advert when it popped up on my television during the England vs. Croatia World Cup match (triggered </3), that real life relevancy! Wardy's votes continue the streak of Panic Is Perfect and Yellowcard receiving points from everyone so far; the former are back to solely leading. His 12 to 'The Banished Heart' pushes that to the brink of the top 5! He lifts both Cherry Monroe and Ty Segall off zero points also. Still 7 songs left to be lifted out of that awkward situation.

06. Bré ● Ought - These 3 Things

Time for the most wordy votes so far *.* although there was not a particularly high bar for this Bray is behind the very cool song and video combo courtesy of Ought, who have been receiving critical acclaim for their releases so far. But... BuzzJack are being very harsh critics on this one is seems as Ought are yet to pick up a point! Bray said that he hoped you guys wouldn't pay dust to his The Cure soundalike while stanning the other one. But that other one is currently sitting in joint 10th, oops. I wanted to keep this 100% in order of receipt so no #Jadedecides type scenario here I'm afraid. My entry and its fabulous bassline (that seems to be my Nuggets thing thus far) deserves to be doing better right now tbh!! jennylee is the bassist for indie rock band Warpaint so you may know of them. I've had this song in my back pocket for a few years and nearly sent it to BJSC early last year, but instead it becomes a Nuggets entry for me. Will this be a big flop after my win or could it pick up? We shall see. Back to my votes - the mesmerising 'Loverboy' gets top points from the host and is on the brink of top 10 as a result. Points for Kaleo (the first to not be a medal position!) ensures that 'No Good' stays in first, but it's all change elsewhere in the top 3 as Bloodywood and Oceans of Slumber are up there now as well, hell yeah! Next up are Jeff's votes! His song is revealed as ALASKALASKA's catchy tune 'Meateater'. This one came with a pretty memorable video as well, incorporating Snapchat filters and even superimposing them into meat. The band's website goes for a similar eclectic aesthetic. 'Meateater' doesn't seem to be catching on too much right now but there are a lot of votes left so there's plenty of time for things to change. 'The Banished Heart' receives its second 12 of the night so that is now our new leader! Ahh, so it is Mattias who is behind my favourite song of this edition! He stated that he did not think his song would receive top marks this time, but that has turned out to not be the case thanks to yours truly, yay! 'Loverboy' feels like such a trippy throwback and I love the colourful video too. Fun fact: Lomboy front-woman Tanja Frita is a native-born Australian, but has lived in Sweden, Spain, Belgium and now Paris, the birthplace of Lomboy. Goals. 'Loverboy' is currently sitting pretty in the top 10, can Mattias stay there all night? He faces competition from songs that are suddenly picking up steam. AS IT IS felt like they were clinging on in 10th for ages without receiving any points, but now a boost for Gretta Ray has pushed her in and them out at last. 'For You, And Your Denial' gives me serious Green Day vibes which is always a good thing. Will it hold up by the end? Frank's own votes make things very exciting at the top, because he snubs Oceans Of Slumber but gives Bloodywood a full 12 so it's a TIE up there - gahhhh!! 14. Riser ● Cherry Monroe - Satellites

Next up we have Jordan! So I mentioned the fact that this was geoblocked on plug.dj, without thinking that it would narrow down who had sent this. So if you read into the band a bit more and found out that they were from Ohio then you may have been able to put 2 and 2 together... oops I promise that was the only accidental spoiler I gave away! So it may come as a surprise (it did to me anyway for some reason!) that Jord has given his top marks to a 23 minute epic. I thought Haken would be lapping up the 12s tbh, due to the nature of it, but this is only its first 12 of the night. Jordan awards points to Bloodywood but snubs Oceans Of Slumber so the former is now solely in the lead! Elsewhere, Yellowcard climbs into the top 5 and ALASKALASKA registers a climb in the top 10 - that has really picked up after the slow start.

15. King Rollo ● Haken - Visions

As if it was going to be anyone other than Rollo who was behind the 23 minute epic courtesy of progressive metal band Haken we already had a taste of the group in the special 100th edition of BJSC but that kinda went down like a lead balloon as it came last... oops. But Rollo's votes here have just come off the back of a 12 for Haken, plus he was spared of any mehs on plug for an ultra long song, so he must be doing something right! Rollo is the fourth person tonight to award top points to Oceans Of Slumber, deeming 'The Banished Heart' his favourite Buzzjack-related discovery of the year. But he gives his silver to Oceans Of Slumber's biggest rival right now, so Bloodywood remain at the top! This is an almighty battle at the moment, I'm on the edge of my seat and we're only around halfway through elsewhere, Drab Majesty have re-entered the top 5. (lol at 'I'm Not Typing All That Out' btw )

Rollo just outdoing himself with the song length there were a couple of parts during the song that sounded very similar to Anathema so that makes sense (and other bits that sounded like Muse and System Of A Down iirc). Quite the journey of a song, I threw it a few points since I enjoyed nearly every part of it.

16. Iz ● Bloodywood - Ari Ari (feat. Raoul Kerr)

Well... I was planning this to be in order of receipt but then I was confused about a set of votes so I'll be coming back to those next and we'll move on to Iz instead who was up after that person. He is behind one of the two main contenders right now and performs a bit of a foot shoot as he puts Oceans Of Slumber back in the lead, oops. But things are very close so he could still get back up there. 'Ari Ari' is something so different in this contest and stands out for miles ("diversity's a gift" after all *.*) so I can see why things are going well for it so far. Indian street metal is clearly awesome if this is anything to go by. Metal is not usually my genre of choice but I can certainly make an exception for this. Iz's entry may not be entirely typical for him (i.e. is not Japanese) but at least that 12 certainly is. I'm sure many of you presumed that Iz was behind CLØWD, I'm sure I would've been if I didn't already know. His votes actually send 'ANTITHESE' into the top 10 for the first time tonight!

Jüpiter now! The confusion I was referring to in the last set of votes was '+3 Avex' which I was puzzled about, but it had to be Ayumi Hamasaki (the name of her label and the song title is in Japanese so fair enough) so crisis was quickly averted. Anyway, back to Jupiter. His entry is courtesy of Italian gothic-rock group Domina Noctis (or "lady of the night") which is currently scraping in the top 20. I expected a bit more for it with that soaring chorus but there's still time I suppose. These votes create a 10 point gap between Oceans Of Slumber and Bloodywood, after gifting the former 7 points and snubbing the latter. 18. Leonardo ● Panic Is Perfect - Go Go Go

So it is Leonardo who is behind the song that was winning near the start! I had received 3 votes before plug.dj and it was right up there at the time, so I was surprised that it didn't quite set the session alight. That's what I get for making assumptions after three votes! It's still holding up okay in the top 15 anyway. Panic Is Perfect have recently released their first album and describe the 'Panic' in their name as being more related to adrenaline than anxiety. As for Leo's votes, he snubs the top two contenders and just increases the totals of Drab Majesty (his 12), ALASKALASKA, Yellowcard and Lomboy instead who aren't too far behind. He also helps out a couple of the more underrated songs here from Ought and Only Sun. Also... look at Ellie and the Oscars go! That stalled on 0 for ages and now 'Dancing in the Rain' is in the top 10.

19. WhoOdyssey ● Only Sun - So It Goes

Next up is WhoOdyssey who is a new face around here. His song is currently suffering from an almighty drought, after receiving 10 points near the start and then just 1 since then, hmm. Perhaps it still has time to recover a bit. I like the sound of Only Sun tbh, they don't seem to take themselves too seriously and have a self-deprecating attitude. Also I can't stop thinking about the parallel between the music video for 'So It Goes' and the infamous butter dance lady, after Bray pointed that out on plug. Anyway, once again the top two here are snubbed and instead WhoOdyssey points a lot of the songs that were right up there at the start. Those 10 points to Yellowcard put them just 20 points behind Bloodywood, maybe this isn't such a two-horse race after all? His votes also push AS IT IS back into the top 10 following top marks.

So it was Addy who was behind this song that went down a storm on plug.dj! I was trying to find out more about Ellie and the Oscars, but a dog grooming place of the same name just kept coming up instead but yeah, it's clear to see why this made such an impact as the chorus is very instant and packs a punch. Addy's votes mean that 'The Banished Heart' has now passed 100 points. It's only 6 points away from my winning score from last contest there are more participants than last time but still, impressive! Addy's 12 for 'Meateater' shoots that into the top 5 for the first time.

I liked 'Dancing In The Rain' (not far off my commiserations) but I definitely thought the plug reaction seemed a little too much, 13th is more the mark I'd have expected for it rather than it being a winning contender like plug seemed to indicate!

Oh was it geoblocked?? Sorry! Yup, this was a local hit here at least 10 years ago when I was in high school, and I just rediscovered it and decided to send it here! Not at all surprised at its underperformance so far but not bothered either (I'm still a couple pages behind though!)

Tbh having Haken as my fave surprised me too, while parts of it were a bit dull I really loved the majority of it and it's rare for a long song to hold my attention like this did <3

Meekul in voting early shocker?? or maybe he actually voted late and I pushed him forward for #lidlgaterevenge? who knows! Well, Michael actually does snub Bré and me here his song 'Can't Hardly Stand It' was easily the oldest entry here as it dates back to 1956. This has legit been stuck in my head all week. Michael stated that he was going to come last with this entry. He's certainly done well to eliminate the competition here as The Tallest Man on Earth had 1 point until these votes. But he still faces 'competition' from poor brave Amadou et Mariam for that last place spot. He gives 8 points to Oceans Of Slumber so that extends its lead once more. He also pushes 'Soteria' back up to fourth and 'Dancing in the Rain' back in the top 10!

So it is Cody who is smashing it right now as the one behind 'Soteria'! I guess we should've all known, the band has 'wolf' in it after all. This was compared to some respected acts like Bon Iver and Sigur Rós on plug.dj and I can definitely see why with the gentle vocals and gorgeous build-up. Cody's votes provide a 12 to Bloodywood, could they still be in this?! He still awards 4 points to 'The Banished Heart' however, so it has a 25 point lead currently. Finally, CLØWD are back in the top 10 thanks to the 7 points they receive here.

Hey, it's our loss, they were nominated for a Grammy Award so who needs Nuggets x Cal was of course joint last with Charlie Feathers but his 1 point to that means it's just him now. Poor hen, maybe Michael is going to escape last after all. It's safe to say that Cal and Mattias will be on each other's Christmas card lists, for Mattias is the one who gave him the single point and Cal has returned that with a full 12 to Lomboy here! Brett next! I'm quite disappointed that his song isn't doing better, it was incredibly instant for me and I thought upon first listen that it could be something that would do really well. Clearly I do not know this contest very well at all yet. Brett's favourite of this edition is '1983', his 12 makes that another one of these last minute top 5 contenders, exciting. Drab Majesty is now joint 3rd with Yellowcard also. He snubs the current leader but chucks 4 points to Bloodywood, so the Oceans of Slumber lead is once again cut down, but this time to 18 points. Two songs have now officially beat my points total for Men I Trust - 'Lauren'. Now we have Jacob, the second of our lovely indie mod trio! It turns out that he's behind the rather dark entry 'Jilly's On Smack', which is about a friend who disappeared into the world of heroin. A pretty awesome song which has consistently been floating around the 11-20 zone here! Jacob's votes ensure that top 10 positions are still being shaken up, as Kaleo climb from 9th to 6th and Yellowcard are more secure in 3rd now. Also can we just... 27. SevenSeize ● Ty Segall - Californian Hills

Final indie mod judgement now with the SevenSeize votes! He was behind the wonderfully trippy (got some strong psychedelic Beatles vibes there) and boisterous 'Californian Hills' which is currently sitting in the top 20. Definitely one of the best music videos in this contest along with Ought off the top of my head. Seven snubs both of the top 2 here but his votes ensure that we have a new 3rd place this late in the game, that is Kaleo! It's all so close in that region. Primus is also a late top 10 contender, right after Jacob's votes! Seven is also the only person to point both of the songs that received 7 mehs on plug, book-ending them in his votes in fact. Lol at Charlie's points all being 1s *_* so, we’ve nearly reached the end. Is it going to be Oceans Of Slumber taking the crown? Or could Bloodywood still be in with a chance? It could still happen if the next voter has pointed ‘Ari Ari’ and the poster behind ’The Banished Heart’ was very silly and is subject to a 12 point deduction for not voting.

So it is Leww who is behind 'The Banished Heart'! I'm sure he couldn't have imagined how much impact this last minute entry was going to make in the contest. He is officially the WINNER of Nuggets 10 with a 16 point lead over 2nd, a huge congrats to him! I suppose a full house of woots on plug.dj may have been a strong indication of this victory tonight. Leww is a brand new winner, with his previous Nuggets peak being 3rd back in 2014 with the fantastic '2020' by Suuns. This time he's done it with one of the longest songs in the contest, as 'The Banished Heart' clocks in at over 9 minutes in length. It boasts a beautiful build-up, with the final couple of minutes being a pretty intense listen in particular with the heightened instrumentation and lyrics such as "I'd die to be yours". Elsewhere, our brand new winner Leww has given top points to ME right at the end, boosting jennylee into the top 15 which I'm so pleased about! His votes also push Drab Majesty into 3rd place but that is about to face a deduction... oops! Bjork, dandy* and dhwe all failed to vote, but which entry are they all behind? find out in the next post which will also include the final scoreboard featuring broken ties. Ooh one more thing, Amadou et Mariam have actually received more points at last so they now tie with Charlie Feathers!!

Congrats Leww, no one can stop you winning all the contests, even this one that you rarely even enter! I kinda found 'The Banished Heart' a little underwhelming, not because I didn't like it (I had it ranked 15th) but just because it seemed like it's the sort of song I should really be loving - and all the people whose taste I usually share did love it clearly! - but something about it wasn't totally connecting with me. I did at least really love the last couple of minutes of it, that saving it from being ranked a bit lower for me x perhaps I'll have to give it another listen or two.

Drab Majesty was really good, y'all are hoes for giving it 9 times as many points as my song which was somewhat similar to it but hey, I accepted the flop a long time ago when I got fewer woots on plug than 'The Bus Song' Gah at the deduction for that costing it so many places, at least it was still top 10 in the end. A bit of a mixed bag of results all across the board, only three of my votes made the top 10, really happy at least for 'Soteria' being up there and 'Ari Ari' living up to the plug hype <3 jennylee, Ty Segall and GIRAFFES? GIRAFFES! are all wayyy too low. I'll be back with a vengeance (and a song that stands out more most likely) for Nuggets 11 anyway ~

Congrats! A worthy winner that has grown on me a bit since I voted (I didn’t even realise I voted so early until now tbh ) although Kaleo is still a highlight

I think that’s my highest position to date in a BJ contest No more shade from Bre about being a contest flop x

I didn’t even think about falling into my usual pattern and sending an Australian artist, but I didn’t send one to the Pop forum contest so figured why restrict myself here... and found something way better than I expected Thank you to everyone who gave Anna Calvi points

Congrats Leww! While I didn't vote for your song it's a very worthy winner and reminded me of my favorite Evanescence song ('Good Enough'), love her voice! That is an absolutely solid top 5 too, probably my favorite ever in fact. Yay for ALASKALASKA and Ellie and the Oscars in the top 10 too!

Great hosting Jade, loved the recap video, always helps remembering the less memorable entries.

Congrats Leww, not entirely my thing (I'd love a 4-minute version without the slow parts), but definitely stood out from the bunch!

It's good to see that Ari Ari lived up to its hype, I'll revisit it for sure and I'll check out the band too.

I'd take 4th any day (well, 5th, but a deduction is a deduction), I thought 'For You, And Your Denial' will be about 15th at best. It is one I listened to quite a lot back then (it is from 2011), I'm happy that many of you enjoyed it.

Great contest Jade - really enjoyed most of the songs entered. Glad Drab Majesty gained so much support, thanks to all who voted them! A shame to see them tumble due to my lack of votes but still top 10 is great and things were so close that there’s no way I wouldn’t have voted for some of the tracks that overtook them anyway.

Definitely my favourite edition to date
