BuzzJack Music Forum _ 20th Century Retro _ ROUND 5:- Oasis - Time Flies....1994 - 2009 Survivor

Posted by: gavindeejay 3rd February 2020, 03:33 PM

Time Flies....1994 - 2009 was the second Greatest Hits compilation from Oasis. 'Stop The Clocks' came out in 2006 as the first Greatest Hits album, but only featured 18 tracks which were chosen by Noel Gallagher and came about at the end of their record contract with Sony. Time Flies...1994-2009 got released on the 14th June 2010 containing all 27 singles the band had released between 1994 and 2009 including 'Whatever and 'Lord Don't Slow Me Down' which had never appeared on any previous Oasis studio album. 'Sunday Morning Call' is not listed on the official tracklisting, but appears as a hidden track on the end of Disc 2 making it track 14, so I've decided to allow it in the rate.

21. The Shock Of The Lightning - 25%

Released as the lead single from the bands final studio album 'Dig Out Your Soul' which peaked at Number 3 in the UK singles chart in September 2008 becoming the bands first lead single since 'Supersonic' not to reach Number in the UK and their first lead not to go Silver. This now leaves 'I'm Outta Time' as the only track left in the rate from 'Dig Out Your Soul'.

20. Go Let It Out - 20%

Released as the first track from the bands 2000 album 'Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants', peaking at Number 1 in the UK singles charts. This now means all 3 singles from Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants' have now been eliminated from the rate already as we get into the Top 20. ohmy.gif

The chart so far...

27. Who Feels Love? - 26.83%
26. Lord Don't Slow Me Down - 21.95%
25. Sunday Morning Call - 18.75%
24. Falling Down - 10.94% in the original thread and 47.06% in the tiebreak thread.
23. She Is Love - 21.43%
22. Lyla - 19.05%]
21. The Shock Of The Lightning - 25.00%
20. Go Let It Out - 20.00%

Now we're into the Top 20, it's time for you to choose your least favourite from the poll above. I'll give you until Thursday to do this smile.gif

It's either All Around the World or Let There Be Love. I'm not sure which to go for at the moment.

It's for 'Let There Be Love'!

Never sure what to vote for as they have such a brillant back catalog and my mind changes each day. Like I just fell right back in love with 'The Shock Of The Lightening' again after listening to the clip when it was voted out.
