Apparantly Stolen Car is first single to be lifted off of her 10th album 'Nébuleuses', which will be released before the end of the year. Personally I'm not 100% sure on it. I love the verses but the chorus should've been more spectacular. The production compliments Mylène's voice beautifully though |

The video has been released some time ago. I start to like the song a lot more too, it's been growing. Still I prefer the Seal duet (although that might be contender for favorite song of all time) and the Moby duet. Lead singles rank: 01. Les mots 02. Du temps 03. f*** Them All 04. L'âme-stram-gram 05. A l'ombre 06. Sans contrefaçon 07. Désenchantée 08. Stolen Car 09. XXL 10. Dégénération 11. Oui mais... non 12. Maman a tort Strangely I think the two lead singles from her Singles Collections are my favorites. And I always forget how much I love 'f*** Them All' 'til I hear it again. Really underrated. |

I quite like the song but I don't love it. It's not really the standard of her recent lead singles, though I like that it's just that little bit different for her. Such an odd choice of duet makes me happy, too.
My lead single rank: 1. Dégénération 2. Oui mais... non 3. Sans contrefaçon 4. XXL 5. A l'ombre 6. Désenchantée 7. L'âme-stram-gram 8. Fuck Them All 9. Stolen Car 10. Du temps 11. Maman a tort 12. Les mots I do like 'Fuck Them All' a lot, though I used to much more in the past. It looks like I don't rate it but her lead singles really are very strong, the quality just falls off a little after 'Stolen Car' really (don't hate me Atonement). |

01 Désenchantée (inside my top 100 of all time <3)
02 Dégénération 03 f*** Them All (I agree this is so underrated!) 04 Oui mais... non 05 Sans contrefaçon 06 Maman a tort 07 Du temps 08 A l'ombre 09 XXL 10 L'âme-stram-gram 11 Les mots 12 Stolen Car Really not feeling Stolen Car at all still. I love all of the top 5, and really like the rest down to Les mots which is just good, it's alright but I never really go back to it unless it's mentioned and I think "oh haven't heard that in ages". |

Maybe this thread can be changed into an 'Interstellaires' (the album) one?
At first I was very disappointed and thought this was just as bad as 'Bleu noir' (by far my least favorite Mylène album and the only other album without Laurent Boutonnat), but it is really growing now. The fan response is also very positive which I didn't expect. People are just tired of the Boutonnat sound I guess. I never really like it when she sings in English but I can't help but fall for the 'I Want You to Want Me' cover. It's so fragile. My other favorites are 'À rebours' and 'Pas d'access'. I was listening to 'Nous souviendrons nous' (closer from the 'L'autre' album) today and 'Un jour ou l'autre' seems like a throwback to it. From 'Nous souviendrons nous': ''Aux vies qui s'abaissent à voir la mienne (to lives that stoop to notice mine) Je sais (I know) Qu'il me faudra prendre congé d'elles (that I will have to take my leave of them) Un jour ou l'autre (one day or another) I hope this does not mean it's the end though. |

I quite liked the album but I'm really waiting for her to release an album where I take more from it than individual songs. I love her so much but listening to a Mylene album as an album continues to feel really difficult. All that said, it probably has more good individual songs than her most recent albums and it thankfully feels much more organic than Monkey Me ever did.
'City of Love' is absolutely gorgeous so I'm glad it's going to be a single - she could easily get a great run of singles from this album, which would be an improvement on the last. |
