Not quite, Summer of '69 was certified 2x platinum and peaked at #42 as well as Believer! But yes, a huge achievement nonetheless and great to see!

Note: The BPI take into account sales for songs since February 1994 when the current compilers of the OCC took over. That's why songs that were released before 1994 get their own categories as the Platinum certifications don't take into account their original sales. This also means that there are other songs that missed the Top 10 and have sold over 600k, but don't have Platinum certifications as their sales are split between pre- and post-1994.

Really wish that sales pre-94 counted, will it ever happen?

Up by The Saturdays going gold is what they deserve. What About Us must be close to platinum now though...

Shouldn't Summer of '69 be in the pre-1994 category?

Literally shocked that 9-5 wasn't a top 10 hit, let alone wasn't a top 40 hit! ohmy.gif

I know, happy for them! 4 Gold singles now: Up, Ego, Higher and What About Us... wonder if any more are close to joining them or if any are close to Silver.

to be fair, almost all of their singles are now silver. I guess If This Is Love would probably be next? But I wouldn’t expect it soon - What About Us and Higher will go platinum first, maybe Issues or AFU gold too.
