Breakdown of the week
- Saturday: Some information may be posted on social media but it is likely to be missing most streaming data and is unrepresentative.
- Sunday: Official First Look Chart on Radio 1 from 6-7pm. Please do not post spoilers on the forum in advance as this ruins the countdown for any listeners.
- Monday: OCC Top 100 from 5:45pm
- Tuesday: Top 40 update as and when we receive them with requests, this is NOT 100% guaranteed however. The OCC may publish sales flashes of their own accord but likewise, this is not guaranteed. Twitter and social media is your friend for today. Please post any information you find with a source. Do not nag for updates, we will post a top 40 update if we receive one.
- Wednesday: Top 40 update from Music Week from 5:45, and potential top 5 sales but this is not guaranteed.
- Thursday: See Tuesday.

Other notes (please read)
- You may make requests Tuesday to Thursday but outside the top 40, specific positions will not be revealed (unless deemed necessary by a mod).
- Please do not demand a midweek update, one will be posted as and when we receive the information. Patience is a virtue.
- Sales information will be given out as deemed necessary by a moderator, please bear this in mind when making requests. Most requests for sales will be ignored. Any chart requests between No. 41 to 100 will not be answered after Monday's update.
- To keep everyone in the loop of all chart action, please refer to the iTunes and Spotify threads.

It would be nice to see Little Mix have that week at number 1, then Ed or CJ the following week. Wonder who is going to be out with first big release of 2021?

I edit some of the chart pages on wikipedia including the top 10 singles entries, I add chart records sections to them as well and one of the most fascinating ones is that until 2005 no song had ever fallen straight from number 1 out of the top 10. Unless something strange happens when Last Christmas falls off it will have happened 10 times, three times in the same year and twice in the space of a fortnight (You'll Never Walk Alone, Don't Stop Me Eatin' and Last Christmas). The other songs that this has affected are:

Elvis Presley - One Night/I Got Stung (2005)
Elvis Presley - It's Now or Never (2005)
McFly - Baby's Coming Back/Transylvania (2007),
The Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Choir - A Bridge Over You (2015)
Baddiel, Skinner and The Lightning Seeds - Three Lions (2018)
LadBaby - We Built This City (2018)
LadBaby - I Love Sausage Rolls (2019)

Poor McFly remain the only one on that list that had such a fall with 'normal' circumstances (the Elvis ones were limited re-releases, and the rest are either charity songs or in the case of 'Three Lions'/'Last Christmas' specifically tied to an event in the one week leading up to them hitting #1 making them instantly obsolete #1s on announcement).

Yes, although LadBaby is now the only act to spend just 1 week on the singles chart (Top 75) with a number 1 single.

Previously he had held the record jointly with The Lewisham And Greenwich NHS Choir (2 weeks).

Out of the contenders I guess I'd like to see Little Mix get it - although I wouldn't mind Ed getting to #1 this time as it's my fave of his in quite some time.

Harry Belafonte - Mary's Boy Child was actually the first in 1958 (1-12). There have been a few other in the last couple of years - off the top of my head: Senorita (1-11), Take Me Back To London (1-13), River (1-28), You'll Never Walk Alone (1-21) and Ladbaby pt III as already mentioned.

I was actually thinking I'm sure I remembered there being at least one song that dropped out of the top 10 because of ACR hitting as well!

I guess the drop for Harry Belafonte might also be described as 'normal circumstances' (although it is also a Christmas song ofc).

I used to think that “Raving I'm Raving” was an insane* chart run. That'd be quite normal by 2020s standards.

I hope Little Mix get the #1! Fingers crossed Miley/Dua reach a new peak with "Prisoner" too.
