QUOTE Former Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies is back with another new drama, and the trailer has just been released.
Years and Years is a six-part series that will follow one family over 15 years, with each episode jumping ahead by a year or two. The series will follow the lives of Daniel (Tovey), Stephen (Kinnear) and Celeste (T'Nia Miller), sisters Rosie (Madeley) and Edith (Hynes), Gran Muriel (Reid) and the family's children as their complex lives converge on one crucial night in 2019. Over the next 15 years, the twists and turns of everyday life are explored as we find out if this ordinary family could ever change the world. |

Thoroughly enjoyed that and was a little on edge with the last 15 mins found it gripping! Also loved them laying over today’s news bulletin to draw us in.

Yeh liked ydays news edition was pretty cool - was boring for the first 45 mins but he last 15 were brillant. Really playing on the populism in today's politics - Emma Thompson is like a Farage figure.

This was incredible as expected *.*
Russell is so brilliant with writing his characters, and I love the dysfunctional family unit he’s created and so intrigued how it will play out. The ending was of course so brilliant but absolutely terrifying. |

I really liked this too, there haven't been enough shows that focus on the NEAR future and I find it really interesting looking at what we can feasibly foresee, and indeed you can very easily see a lot of what was portrayed happening, however dark and depressing it is. Emma Thompson, in particular, was fantastic as the alt-right prototype. I did find I liked the context more interesting than the actual family, but I am still very interested to see where it goes. I'm hoping the ratings improve anyway~

ugh this is SO GOOD
Treads the line between reality/parody/being out there so perfectly that it doesn’t overarch the wrong way |

I’ve just watched the first episode and holy shit this is amazing, everyone needs to watch this. The fact that it’s just SO readable brings me this sense of dread, more so than even black mirror. WATCH THIS

Wow! Sadly, I’d seen some pictures that led to SUSPICIONS but I thought it was going to be the other way round. That family call scene was brutal.
Also, aside from the family scenes, that doctoring of politicians videos is actually one of the most terrifying things becuase it’s essentially happening now - with the actual US PRESIDENT doing it so I can competely envisage it developing with technology to being even more convincing. |

I've watched the first four episodes over the last couple nights and it is indeed brilliant. A lot of it is frighteningly plausible.
