Dexton's Top 20 (26/09/2017) (Week 20)

A new number one! dance.gif



As predicted last week by BridgeCow, Marshmello's Silence featuring Khalid has climbed up to the top spot, knocking both Portugal. The Man (1-2) and Avicii (2-3) down in this weeks chart. The highest new entry this week comes in at #4 and it is Hailee Steinfeld & Alesso's Let Me Go featuring Florida Georgia Line & Watt), the first entry on the chart for all four of these artists. Lorde's Homemade Dynamite featuring Khalid, SZA, & Post Malone climbs to #5 (12-5) this week, becoming Lorde's second Top 10 hit and Khalid's third Top 5 hit.

Dua Lipa's New Rules leaves the Top 5 for the first time since it debuted on my chart at #3, a whopping 10 weeks ago. Dua managed to hold on to each position in the Top 5 at least once. Fear not, she's still within the Top 10 and won't be freefalling anytime soon.

Aside from Hailee Steinfeld & Alesso, new entries this week also come from Alan Walker's The Spectre at #10 and ALMA & French Montana's Phases at #20. Both Alma and French Montana have previously scored Top 10 hits on my chart before (Martin Solveig's All Stars featuring Alma peaked at #7, French Montana's Unforgettable featuring Swae Lee peaked at #3) so keep a sharp eye on this dance.gif

Other notable climbs this week come from Lauv's I Like Me Better (9-6), Zayn's Dusk Till Dawn featuring Sia (11-9), and U2 & Kygo's You're The Best Thing About Me (17-13). Also this week we see The Killer's Run For Cover climb back into the Top 10 (20-7) after the release of their latest album, Wonderful Wonderful. The impacts of this album on my personal chart can further be seen in former #1 The Man re-entering at #11 after dropping out just two weeks ago, and Rut entering at #16.

Wonderful Wonderful is a wonderful album which has inspired me to begin my own album chart. And so this week marks the first installment of my Personal Album Chart, with The Killer's Wonderful Wonderful debuting at #1 and Kygo's EP Stargazing at #5.

I would love for Lorde to get herself another hit wub.gif Green Light deserved much better, same for Perfect Places

The Man is definitely a standout song in Wonderful Wonderful and a brilliant comeback single. For me, it's already up there with classics like All These Things That I've Done & Mr Brightside heart.gif

I'm really enjoying the new album actually. I didn't know what to expect after The Man and Run For Cover. I adored both singles but I wasn't sure at all where the album was going with it, but I'm happy with where it went! I've listened through quite a few times now through the week and Rut is my favourite album track, despite not being much of a fan at first laugh.gif

Nice to see you liking U2 x Kygo biggrin.gif I much prefer Kygo's remix to the original, but that might just be because I heard the remix first laugh.gif

The Spectre is really growing on me, expect a big climb next week wub.gif I much prefer Phases to Chasing Highs from ALMA so far, All Stars is good too but not the best from Martin Solveig.

Havana's chart run is looking very bizarre isn't it? laugh.gif

Let Me Go is decent, I think it'll grow on me but it's not as good as Starving
Yay at Homemade Dynamite making your top 5! cheer.gif absolutely love it
Really liking the Duke Dumont remix of The Man, makes me appreciate the song so much more
Phases is a good new entry, but it's nowhere near as great as Chasing Highs, hoping it can grow on me tho
