There's very little chance she'll have much more success than Vanessa's had. But I am just hoping the music is better, we should at least get an EP from her and I'm just praying that it's something good.

Mollie is a far more known name and when you compare twitter, facebook, instragram followers Mollie's quite clearly managed to gather an impressive following. I'm guessing if radio are going to back anyone within the group it would be Mollie, it wouldn't surprise me if Capital did end up supporting any single released by her and unlike Vanessa, Mollie has a major label deal. |

As major as Island are, they couldn't even get any radio support for Leona Lewis, who had previously been a global superstar. Happy to be proved wrong but I don't think anything is certain, especially as radio were so reluctant to support any of the Saturdays' material when they were ending.

Surely it depends on the material though? I don't blame any radio station for not playlisting 'Fire Under My Feet' it's not exactly the song that stations like Capital would provide a couple of spins to unless it was a smash. It all depends on the material that Mollie provides! Capital still have The Saturdays under their artists on the website and despite 'What Are You Waiting For' bombing they were happy to support them on everything else. |

There's no way this will be a success, especially when Aston Merrigold & Nathan Sykes haven't done great.

I don't know any anyone can Base mollies success Iver songs that haven't been heard yet let alone released and compare that to other artists lack of success. I've never been a big fan of Mollie but if she can bring the tunes I will be on board. She has every bit of a chance of pulling off a hit but everyone should reserve judgement until we've at least heard a snippet if her material.

Because once an artist has a profile for themselves, the media and the public aren't going to look at them in the same way as a brand new artist. In this case, the Saturdays weren't exactly the biggest girl band and there's a distinct lack of hype in any solo music. Compare that to JLS and The Wanted who were both bigger, and there was more demand for solo music, yet they both haven't done amazing at all. Then also take into account that Mollie is quite a weak singer, I don't think there's a recipe for success there unless she has a MASSIVE single which I very much doubt is going to happen.
Vanessa may not have been on a proper label (?), and she may be the least popular Saturday, but the fact that her songs only made a five minute appearance in the Top 1500 shows the lack of demand for solo music. |

Like I said, I'd love to be proved wrong, a successful Mollie campaign would even help with a Saturdays comeback (if it ever happened)
I just feel like so many amazing songs are snubbed by the radio, quality really doesn't automatically equate to success. Unless you're a brand new artist, radio looks at your profile rather than anything. |

Also I can see Mollies music being FAR more commercial than Nathan Sykes and Aston! I've got a good feeling about Mollie doing well, pull through queen!

exactly. Mollie sounds like she is going for commercial music, and I can see someone like Capital supporting her. I severely doubt Radio 1 will, but if Capital were to, she could have some pretty decent success, hopefully enough to get the rest of the album. She is the weakest vocally, but she does know how to play to her strengths, and to be fair, in songs like Disco Love, where she sticks to what she's good at, she's the shining star of the track, so on her own, I see the music being real good. But we'll see. Imma not worry yet either

The way the last few months have shaped up I definitely see Vanessa being the Nadine of the group, Mollie the Nicola and Rochelle as the Sarah, if we are making comparisons of course. If Nicola Roberts had a label backing her and released one album and three singles, I don't see why we wouldn't get at least two singles from Mollie realistically.

I will not stand for the Una shade.
I don't think Aston or Nathan are good indicators because their material has been awful. And are they even on major labels? Also I don't think there was much demand for Aston or Nathan solo material as JLS and The Wanted were flopping just as badly as the Sats near the end if not worse. |
