It's time for lots of speculation about transfers to begin!
I am expecting there to be very little movement this summer.
Not least because it's likely between when this season and the next season starts there will be a 2-3 week break at most I suspect. I expect there will be the odd 'bigger' transfer, but I'd expect this transfer window to be fairly quiet and the winter one to be a little busier. Just think there is far too much uncertaintly right now for clubs to commit to bigger spending. Though I do think Werner will likely end up at Liverpool.
Paris St-Germain have signed striker Mauro Icardi for 60m euros (£54m) from Inter Milan.
The 27-year-old Argentina international joined PSG in September on a season-long loan with a buy-out option.
Matty Longstaff has been offered a five-year deal worth £30,000 per week by Serie A club Udinese.
Chelsea are in talks to sign RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.
I know I'm gutted we had better win the league this season as we will def fall behind next season ffs. Werner is a great player too and with Chelsea signing the Ajax player Zieyeick as well they could be a force.
Chelsea will be frightening next season at this rate
Attacking wise, they are going to be incredibly scary.
If they manage chillwell, a new goalkeeper, CB and CH then I can see them being title contenders. I can see city struggling hard next season tbh
If City are banned from Europe they'll be massive favourites for the Prem imo with that their only real target and fewer matches.
Interesting to see how Werner adapts to the Prem. If Chelsea could insist that he moves right now before the end of the Bundesliga season that would be perfect. Not that I am at all bias as a Gladbach fan wanting to get rid of Leipzig from our competition for third place and that sweet CL spot.
Inter Milan are waiting to see if Barcelona will meet the £98m release clause for Lautaro Martinez before it expires on July 7.
Juventus have agreed a £72.5m fee with Barcelona to sign Arthur.
Morgan Schneiderlin has joined French side Nice from Everton for an undisclosed fee.
Arthur will fly to Turin tonight and undergo a medical with Juventus tomorrow ahead of a £72.5m switch from Barcelona.
Manchester City have agreed to sell winger Leroy Sane to Bayern Munich.
The Germany international will join the Bundesliga champions for an initial fee of about £44.7m in a deal that could rise to £54.8m.
Leeds United have completed the signing of Wolves winger Helder Costa for a fee understood to be about £16m.
Leicester are planning a £31m swoop for Real Madrid forward Luka Jovic as they search for a new striker partner for Jamie Vardy,
Birmingham City teenager Jude Bellingham has completed a move to German giants Borussia Dortmund which could eventually be worth over £30m.
The 17-year-old midfielder has signed a long-term deal with Dortmund.
Bellingham, who is the Blues' youngest player, will leave the Championship club after their final game of the season on Wednesday.
Overrated.
I can't say I have ever seen him play or know about all the hype, but I can't help but feel lots of people think he will be amazing because of Sancho.
Sounds like a lot of clubs were sniffing around him, but it's an awful lot of money in this climate. Although I guess Dortmund see it as a long term investment knowing if he is half decent some team in the Premier League will buy him at some point.
He must have his head screwed on going to Dortmund the way the coach their players.
I thought he was headed for united but obv not, great player. Birminghams best player in the past 2 seasons as a 16/17 yo!
Everton have had a £25m Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg bid accepted by Southampton.
Brighton apparently close to signing Adam Lallana on a free transfer.
Brighton have signed Adam Lallana from Liverpool on a free transfer.
Bournemouth have accepted a £41M bid from Manchester City for Nathan Ake. It feels like a bit of a strange signing for City to make but I guess for Bournemouth there will be plenty more departures to come.
That's a good signing even at that price tag. Stones obviously isn't cutting the mustard at City so they need a dependable consistent partner for Laporte rather than chopping and changing their CBs all the time. Says a lot that Fernandinho is preferred to both Stones & Otamendi when all are available.
Sancho looks like he is on his way to Utd at £100m.
I will be gutted if this comes off as I like him a lot and he'd be perfect at Liverpool, but no way we could afford that for him unless he one of the front three left. The only thing that fills me with confidence is that he will go to Barcelona/Madrid in 3-4 years time if he performs anywhere near how he is capable.
We will def add to the defence and the full back positions imo!
Manchester City have completed the signing of Valencia winger Ferran Torres for £21m.
Alexis Sanchez has joined Inter Milan permanently from Manchester United on a 3 year deal. I think it's for the best for everyone involved, it seems like he's played better at Inter and we have been better off without him. It's a shame that he didn't bring the form from his Arsenal days with him at United.
His half a million a week contract was quite possibly THE worst decision we made in the last 10 years...
Always makes me laugh that one....
Is Sancho to Man Utd happening anymore? I honestly can't see it unless they stump up the asking price Dortmund want.
Willian has finally gone to Arsenal on a three-year deal.
Liverpool have signed Tsimikas as an extra left-back and the Thiago rumours just do not go away.
Most bizarre link I have seen so far.. Harry Winks to Manchester City
Na, usual Ed Woodward bottlejob probably. Dortmund have been the absolute scourges of our transfer business the past decade or so. Sold us some absolute dross, and stole some of our big targets so unsurprising to see them finding new ways to be problematic.
Yeah it's pretty incompetent negotiating. Worst of all was the Fellaini one, let's just wait an extra few weeks to pay £12M more for absolutely no reason whatsoever.
Is this going to be annual thing an Chelsea player moving to Arsenal???
Bournemouth have accepted an £18.5m bid for goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale from his former club Sheffield United.
Wonder how this will work will the Henderson and de Gea now?
Former Burnley and Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart is set to join Tottenham on a free transfer.
The 33-year-old left Burnley when his contract expired on 30 June.
Hart, then England keeper, fell from favour after Pep Guardiola arrived at City in 2016, with loans to Torino and West Ham before a 2018 move to Burnley.
So he's swapping benches? Least the shampoo promotioner gets to train in a better complex!
David Silva has joined La Liga side Real Sociedad for two seasons.
The Spaniard's 10-year spell at City came to an end after Saturday's Champions League defeat by Lyon.
Chelsea are closing in on a deal for Leicester and England left-back Ben Chilwell.
The 23-year-old has been a target for Blues boss Frank Lampard despite Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers saying in July that Chilwell was not for sale.
But after Leicester finished fifth last season, a Chelsea move would offer Chilwell Champions League football.
The Foxes academy product is working his way back from a foot injury that is not thought to be serious.
His current contract with Leicester runs until 2024.
Chelsea are also interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Kai Havertz.
Chilwell is probably better than Emerson and Alonso (in a back 4). But I also find him really overrated as well. But for an English left back I suppose that is the going price, it was meant to be £80m pre-Covid.
Jeff Hendrick has joined Newcastle United on a four-year deal after leaving Burnley.
The 28-year-old, who has 54 caps for his country, left the Clarets in June and was a free agent.
He was signed by Burnley manager Sean Dyche for a then club-record fee of £10.5m in 2016 but was unable to agree a new contract.
Leicester midfielder James Maddison has signed a new four-year contract with the Premier League club, keeping him at the King Power until 2024.
So was his contract running out this year?
Maddison hit the ground running for Leicester but his form fell off a cliff in 2020.
Tbf he's been injured most of the second half of the season.
Barcelona forward Lionel Messi has apparently asked to leave this summer.
Love the Messi logic - he wants to leave Barcelona to win a couple more Champions Leagues titles, so let's try and engineer a move to Manchester City who have never been to the final
Looks highly likely he is on the move, I suspect he will end up at City.
I'm still shocked. Barca literally paid for his medicine for him to even be a footballer let alone go on to become one of the est ever. I thought that alone would be goodwill enough for him to never leave, never mind all the glory they've experienced together. Seems very kneejerk based on one bad season but I imagine there must be far more to it than what we know.
Didn't he & Pep fall out? Thought that would be the turn-off with City never mind their European failures. I wonder if PSG are more likely, certainly one of the only teams who could even afford him and they've set a precedent with Neymar...
I'll believe Messi leaving Barcelona when I see it.
Chelsea have signed England left-back Ben Chilwell from Leicester on a five-year deal.
Dean Henderson has agreed a new 6-year contract with Manchester United.
Chelsea have completed the signing of Thiago Silva, joining on a one-year contract with the option of a further 12 months.
Crystal Palace have completed the signing of QPR forward Eberechi Eze on a five-year deal for £19.5m.
The highly-rated England Under-21 international started every game and scored 14 goals for QPR in the Championship last season.
Chelsea are like the kid who got nothing for Xmas last year being adopted by millionaires and giving everything they want this time around.
Silva is mega though, he's one of the best modern defenders even at his age. Up there with Pique & Ramos. Talk about a diamond in the rough for that defence!
Not a huge fan of Silva myself but maybe my opinion is tainted by his World Cup performances, he may prove me wrong!
Australia midfielder Aaron Mooy has joined Shanghai SIPG from Brighton for an undisclosed fee.
Mooy, 29, signed for the Seagulls on a three-and-a-half year deal in January having initially joined on loan from Huddersfield Town in August 2019.
He scored two goals in 32 appearances last season to help Brighton to their best Premier League points haul.
Strange they let him go, he's a good player.
Leeds United have signed Spain forward Rodrigo from Valencia for a club record 29m euro (£26m) fee.
Rodrigo, 29, has signed a four-year contract with Marcelo Bielsa's side, who are back in the Premier League after a 16-year absence.
He scored 59 goals in 220 games for Valencia, helping the La Liga club win the Copa del Rey in 2018-19.
Leeds' previous record transfer was former England captain Rio Ferdinand, who cost £18m from West Ham in 2000.
Everton have agreed a £25m deal for Napoli's Brazil midfielder Allan, and are also in talks to bring Real Madrid's James Rodriguez to Goodison Park.
Rodriquez would be a coup for Everton!
Leeds United have also signed Germany defender Robin Koch, 24, from Freiburg for an undisclosed fee.
Matt Doherty has joined Tottenham from Wolves on a four-year contract for a fee in the region £15m.
Manchester United are close to reaching an agreement to sign Donny Van De Beek from Ajax.
Sky Sports News - Everton and Real Madrid could reach agreement for transfer of James Rodriguez in next 48 hours.
Mane linked with a move to Barca for 90m!
I swear we must be the only club who wins the league and gets to two European Cup finals in 3 years winning one of them and still sells their best player....
We are linked with Sarr from Watford as a replacement apparently.
That's one rumour doing the rounds Sarr to Liverpool.
Aston Villa have agreed a fee with Nottingham Forest for full-back Matty Cash.
The fee is understood to £14m rising to a possible £16m with add-ons.
West Brom have agreed a fee with West Ham to sign forward Grady Diangana.
Diangana spent last season on loan at the Hawthorns as West Brom were promoted to the Premier League. The fee could be worth £18m and would break West Brom’s transfer record.
Everton agree fee understood to be £25m with Watford to sign midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure.
Chelsea agreed a deal to sign Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen yesterday, according to Sky in Germany.
The deal is worth £89m.
Wowzers, I know of course they're all gonna need to gel but if Chelsea's new signings all click quickly I don't see why they can't be a real threat even with a dodgy defence and GK. They'll be like Liverpool 13/14!
After all that frenzied press speculation and rumours:
*insert surprised pikachu face meme*
It does make me think though he'll surely be leaving next season which was still unthinkable a few weeks back. Then again, Barca could end up having a good season next year after all.
Suarez off to Juve though!
Messi was never going to leave this year, this is all just to distract from Barcelona being a mess right now. I actually expect Messi to be a one club man and retire there.
Chelsea have signed attacking midfielder Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen on a five-year contract in a deal worth about £71m.
Everton have signed Brazilian midfielder Allan from Napoli on a three-year contract for a fee believed to be around £21.7m.
West Brom have signed Grady Diangana from West Ham for £18m.
And a certain Mr. Noble was NOT best pleased!
No Mr Noble was definitely not impressed with that:
Always enjoyable to see a bit of a crisis at West Ham
I read an article on net spend a few weeks ago and was surprised to see Everton are one of the biggest spenders transfer wise
Wolves have announced the signing of Portugal youth international striker Fabio Silva from Porto for a club-record fee.
The 18-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year deal, reported to be worth some £35million.

West Brom have completed the signing of ex-Chelsea defender Branslav Ivanovic on a one-year contract.
Bale back to Spurs.. this is one crazy summer
Spurs going full Mourinho.
Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign midfielder Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich for at least £20m, plus £5m in add-ons, on a four-year contract.
What I wanna know is why on earth they're paying more than twice Alcantara's price for Jota? Decent squad player yes but 45M?? f***ing hell, at least Shaqiri cost peanuts...
Thiago is a 29 yo so there’s no by back value on him whereas Jota is 23 so he can improve and be sold when he’s say 27!
It’s a fairly typical Liverpool signing in that as you say Roon You coulda said exactly the same about Mane in 2016 and now look, there’s luck involved but it’s possible. Thiago whereas is a non-typical Liverpool signing in that he’s ready made and in his prime and wants to join because of Kloop and we are one of the best teams at the minute.
Aston Villa have signed forward Bertrand Traore from Lyon in a deal worth £17m.
Leeds have signed a Spanish guy called Diego Llorente. People seem to be happy about it.
Other transfers from the last few days:

The Croatian midfielder played 43 times for the Baggies during their Championship promotion season in 2019/20, before surfing back into the Premier League to the Hawthorns for the new campaign.
Manchester City have announced the signing of Ruben Dias from Benfica on a six-year-deal.

It's north even worth it anymore. Everyone who we've paid over the odds for has flopped anyway.

Sheffield United have agreed a club record deal to sign Liverpool's England Under-21 forward Rhian Brewster.
The £23.5m deal includes a buy-back option for three years and the Reds will get 15% of any sell-on fee.
I knew that one was gonna happen eventually!
Tottenham have announced the signing of striker Carlos Vinicius on a season-long loan from Benfica.
Edinson Cavani is due to fly into England on Sunday to join Manchester United.
They won’t mind if he scores 20 goals this season but seems a strange signing by United, a bit like they feel they need a big name. He’s a quality player tho, in a big fan.
But like a Van Gaal era signing though/
Falcao- Rock Me Cavani with the B-Side being 'Do It Like A Falcao at United'???
Or are United going to get a Zlatan-esque performance from Cavani??
Don't think it's the forward area we need reinforcements for!
My thought was that it reeks of a Zlatan 2.0 type of signing to try and distract the fickle twitter plastics from continuing to tear lumps out of the owners and the board.
If he’s as good off the pitch as Zlatan was then it’s a priceless gift for Tony, Rashy & Mason. If he’s not then it’s literally just Woodward trying to go “loooooooook I got you a STAR” in the hopes that we don’t see that he got utterly outmanoeuvred and outclassed by Dortmund simply saying “our price is 120m€ you pay it or we keep Sancho. The choice is yours” over and over for the entire summer.
This Porto winger coming on a free next year coz Woodward is arguing over a couple of mil. Here’s an idea just pay f***ing Porto and take it out of the money the glazers were gonna leech from the club this year anyway.
I remain unconvinced by him. If he gives us some insider info to grind PSG into dust and make Neymar and Di Maria cry again I will buy a shirt with his name on the back of it.
Looks like Telles is coming after all. Will see if Woodward gets Sancho but I’m extremely doubtful. Consequences of not having football people run the club and owners that see the club as their personal ATM
Wolves have completed the signing of French youngster Rayan Ait-Nouri on an initial season-long loan deal.
Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Alex Telles from Porto.
Roma have completed the signing of Chris Smalling on a three-year deal. The deal is worth £18m.
All the done deals on Transfer Deadline Day:
https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12085915/summer-transfer-window-2020-done-deals-in-october
Man Utd's transfer dealings bar Telles have been weird. Speaks of panicking to rush through deals for targets to appease fans for signings.
100% what it is. The toxicity they’re feeling will only leave when the glazers, Woodward and Judge do
I agree there’s only 4 games gone I’m sure there will be ups and downs as we go.
Said Benrahma is undergoing a medical at West Ham ahead of his move from Brentford.
Benrahma has agreed personal terms on a five-year contract ahead of a potential £30m move to the London Stadium.
Pretty gutting that
