A quick look at the BWF Calendar - we've got the Badminton World Championships in August this year but there are events as early as the India Open starting on the 11th of this month!

Ah nice to have a thread for other racket sports. I don't ever watch any aside from by chance at the Olympics but badminton is currently the only sport I play regularly and I'm considering going to that annual championship in Birmingham some time.

The Syed Modi International and the Odisha Open have both gone on over the past few weeks - naturally a lot of Indian interest but with some winners from Malaysia and Sri Lanka as well.

Thomas & Uber Cup are underway now!
Just watched Indonesia's men winning 3-2 against Japan last night local time. We return to the Thomas Cup final and will face India to defend our title. One of my favorite match: Meanwhile, South Korea will face China in the Uber Cup final tomorrow at 1pm GMT+7! |

India seem to have done well to reach the Final - seems like it's the first time they've managed to do that in the Thomas Cup! All the best to Indonesia though.

Thanks! Also, congratulations to South Korea for winning the Uber Cup 3-2 against the defending champion China! Felt sorry to Wang Zhi Yi as she had an issue with her right finger during the last game / set of the last match. She didn't deserve to lose in this way. Either way, still a thrilling final. Feel gutted by Indonesia's loss on the Thomas Cup final today. We literally had a chance to win the first 2 matches, but India's mentality is just too high. Gotta say, what a comeback. Congratulations to the Indian men's badminton team for winning their first title on their first ever final. Definitely a well-deserved win.
Anthony Sinisuka Ginting vs Lakshya Sen 21-8, 17-21, 16-21 Mohammad Ahsan/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo vs Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty 21-18, 21-23, 19-21 Jonatan Christie vs Kidambi Srikanth 15-21, 21-23 Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto vs M.R.
