Cagliari have been cleared of racist chanting towards Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku in a Serie A match.

Chants were aimed at Lukaku as he was about to take a penalty in a 2-1 victory at the Sardegna Arena.

But according to a sports judge acting on behalf of the league, there was not enough evidence for any sanctions.

The Sardinian club were, however, fined 5,000 euros for throwing plastic bottles on to the pitch away at Parma on Sunday.

Kovac has resigned as manager of Bayern München in what can only be described as a jump before I’m pushed situation.

Bundesliga continues to be f***ing mental. Top half of the table has three teams on 17, four teams on 18 then the two Borussias with Dortmund second with 19 and my hometown Mönchengladbach staying on top spot with 22!!

Footballers in the Netherlands' top two divisions will not play during the first minute of their matches this weekend to draw attention to racism.

It comes after the racial abuse of Excelsior's Ahmad Mendes Moreira by Den Bosch fans on Sunday.

While players in the Eredivisie and Eerste Divisie stand still, the message 'Racism? Then we don't play football' will appear on scoreboards.

An extra minute will be added on to injury time in the first-half.

The abuse of Moreira was condemned by many Dutch international footballers including Lyon forward Memphis Depay, while Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum said the incident "really hit me on a personal level".

A Spanish second division match was abandoned at half-time as Rayo Vallecano fans chanted that Albacete forward Roman Zozulya was a Nazi.

The Ukraine international joined Rayo on loan in 2017 but the deal was cancelled hours later after fans turned up to training with a banner saying the town was "not a place for Nazis".
