During the announcement (and the release) of "The Archer" on Instagram live, it was revealed that Taylor was shooting the music video of the next single from Lover.
I'm really pleased that they're not seemingly releasing all the promo tracks they're intending to use as future singles this time.
The Archer is the best song she's released so far this era. ME! is atrocious, and You Need To Clam Down was okay. Nothing beats Delicate yet though.

It has the potential to be one of those real long running like smashes.
Obviously due to the way it’s been released thus far I don’t see it going to #1 or even top 5 but I do think it could be a real long runner with a chart run like Adele’s Set Fire To The Rain or Freya’s Lost Without You.
It’s a perfect album seller too.
Yeah the more I listen to this, the more it has that timeless classic feel, I can't see how this wouldn't be HUGE as a single!

Predicted to debut at number 18 on the Billboard Hot 100. Not bad, all things considered. This had potential to get top 10 if she hadn't waited until the end of the tracking week to release the music video.

It’s a perfect single choice if they want album sales. This is an album seller for sure.
I sort of feel like it might’ve worked more as single 4 in like 3 months time though with The Man being pushed now since it’s doing good on streaming and is more for this time of year.
BUT I can see it being fairly big regardless. It’s got a real sort of timeless feel to it and it’s different to the two singles we’ve heard so far what have been in your face pop, then sassy fighting for a message, this is like more representative of her.
I honestly don’t get the reaction to it on here I really feel this could be big. I can see this selling much more than the eras first two singles and having a longer chart run. Peak wise I still feel it’s gonna be more of a long runner with a lower peak (like not top 5 but between 6-20 maybes).

The original is better obvs but I do really like it! And hopefully this can make Lover a smash cos it deserves to be massive <3 (and there's no chance of the original becoming a hit anymore without a remix </3)
Now we need promotion everywhere for this to become a smash ahh! (Esp considering Tay has done basically every single awards show this year <3). Hopefully she does this at ama's, voice US, some UK promo would be amaze ahh

I think this might struggle here: Radio 1 have just taken it off their playlist and I doubt they will re add it and I’m not sure if Spotify would add it back to Hot Hits either!
It's been off hot hits for ages (the man lasted longer on HH than Lover haha and even that's been off a lil while now) so I'd be disappointed if they didn't re-add it
This remix is rly growing on me!
I like the remix, I prefer the original too because I'm more used to it but I think it's cute as a duet like it's the two lovers singing to each other and Shawn fits really well! I'm glad it's not one of those remixes where it sounds like they just tacked on a random verse or chorus and it feels really rushed.

their voices don't match and Shawn cannot hit the notes, he sounds terrible (and I generally like him)

I can see this getting a new peak thanks to the remix! Maybe not this week but definitely in 3-4 weeks. All this needs is a big UK push on TV. I think this will help the album out too. It was the perfect track to release at this time of year and Shawn is probably the best Male she could’ve collaborated with too as she’s already worked with Ed in the past.

It's already climbed over 200 places to get to number 9 on iTunes 
). But the iTunes climb shows its had a big impact. I felt it would be something what would be the type of song to get a big boost if it managed a big TV slot. Should sell the album too. Am I the only one who thought she was miming or really heavily layered vocals over her quietly singing on Strictly? And the piano didn't seem live either. Weird. Regardless I love the song and hope it keeps rising
