Eighth (!) Tegan and Sara album, 'Love You to Death' is out 3rd June.
Supposedly, the album artwork will be out tomorrow and we'll hear the first single on 8th April. Plus lots of hints on their Instagram 🤓 'Heartthrob' was an absolute beauttt of a record so I'm excited for this. |

This is very exciting! Not overly familiar with their back-catalogue but 'Heartthrob' was a perfect pop album in every way . I'd probably end up naming every song as a highlight, and the singles were all particularly stunning. Just listened to 'I'm Not Your Hero' in anticipation for the new stuff. <3

Oh good, they're coming back! I keep saying it every time they're brought up, but I need to check out their earlier material before Heartthrob, I know small bits of it and it sounds very much up my street, perhaps more so than the pop direction they're in now but then I also loved what was on Heartthrob loads. I'll have to keep an eye out for this.

I cannot wait for this album. Their previous album was absolute perfection and will never get old.

Never really listened to them before (bar the guilty pleasure of Everything Is Awesome) but absolutely loved Boyfriend and U-Turn was also great on first listen!
Will check out more by them, what songs would people say are essential to check out? |

'Boyfriend' and 'U-turn' are good, if nothing particularly special (but then T&S have set sky-high standards for themselves). Both tracks are more straight-up pop than I was expecting, not that that's put me off at all but hopefully they'll grow on me with time and in the context of the album.

Echoing "Closer" and "I Was a Fool" but also recommend "Back in Your Head" from their earlier indie pop days!

Oh that's the sort of pop that I'm into. I'd say that's them delivering again. Also finally a song called 'Boyfriend' that isn't awful

"Boyfriend" video:
The video's ok but I've been obsessed with this song for weeks now. It's got nothing on "Closer" obv but I'm so here for the lyrical perspective of the song. I want to say it's like a queer "Call Your Girlfriend" but that's not exactly right because "Boyfriend" isn't coming from a place of manipulation. I saw it described on another site as basically "I Kissed a Girl" from the perspective of the woman being experimented with and that sounds more accurate. It has all the attendant confusion and frustration and vague hurt of a one-sided relationship. |

Loving this at the moment. Very similar to Heatthrob but that's obviously no bad thing at all!
I don't think it's quite as strong, but still a great album. Dying to Know, 100x and Stop Desire are my current faves ❤️ |
