OMG I'm so jealous. I really wanted tickets, but I'm typically on holiday when she's here.
Blackout!!!!
Devastated I didn't win
I think obviously with everything that has happened to Britney, people really tend to over analyse things like interviews etc...She acted a little coy at times in the carpool karaoke segment...SHES NOT THE SAME etc
But I think with the Glory era she genuinely looks HAPPY and the press has been so more enjoyable than other era's, especially in radio interviews it seems.
I know this isnt relating much to the album but I'm in full on BRITNEY STAN mode. I think for certain people of my age especially grew up with her and seen how she exploded, with my opinion one, if not THEE greatest pop song of all time.
I feel like the reason people over analyse a lot is because they genuinely CARE about Britney for some reason. Its not like with Christina etc, she doesn't seem like just another huge popstar that launched in the light 90s.
You dont really need to read any of that it can be summed up by: TEAM BRITNEY

I've been listening a bit to the album since the release but don't think I've commented on it yet.
It's a pretty solid album although I'm mostly going back to the same tracks. The standouts for me are 'Make Me...', 'Man on the Moon', 'Do You Wanna Come Over?', 'Just Like Me', 'Love Me Down' and 'Liar'.
Yeah I also go back to the same ones, there are clearly songs on the album I dont like and wouldnt listen to again unless I had to
Likely not to be appearing in today's UK Top 40 which is a very drastic fall. In Ireland i see Britney fans tweeting it has falling from number 1 to number 30 on its 2 chart week
How is the album performing in week 2 in the States?
Glory wasn't in the top 40 this week.
I think Britney may have achieved a new UK chart record, i am trying to source if its the first time ever an album has departed the top 40 from Number 2.
Queen of breaking records!!!!!!!!!1
Ouch! It was #41. 2,084 sales
'Just Luv Me' might just be my favorite song of all time. I've never had a song strike me so hard. Like, when people discussed tearing up while listening to a certain song, I never understood it. But now I do, and it's not because of a certain event in my life or something. I can just relate to just wanting a person to love you even as just be a friend without a hidden agenda. I also haven't heard this real pain from her since 'Everytime', 'Out From Under' and 'Perfume' almost seem calculated in comparison to the way I'm hearing her again.
I think it's also reminded me of why I fell in love with her from the very beginning. She tells a story with just her vocal delivery. She doesn't have a strong voice, but on songs like this she blows me away more than any other vocalist. 'Just Luv Me' literally transports me to being 8 years old and listening to her for the first time. Nothing can ever beat BOMT, but this is the closest anything will possibly ever come, she's just so effortless on this sublime ballad It's nostalgic in the fact we are hearing Britney deliver a vocal with no emotional guards. Once in a lifetime kinda song. I hope that makes sense.
(My top 5 hasn't changed since 2007, until today TBH.)
1. Baby One More Time
2. Just Luv Me
3. Gimme More
4. Lucky
5. I'm a Slave 4 U
6. Toxic
7. Everytime
8. Break The Ice
9. (You Drive Me) Crazy
10. Till The World Ends
EDIT: I have changed the lower top ten at least 7 times now. I'm done now. Bye.
I feel the same Tyler. It is very striking and I think that's partly due to how sincere her vocal delivery is.
Edit: Also thanks guys!! I'm so damn excited and can't believe it's so soon.
Adore MOTM for the same exact reasons as well. But, the haunting nature of JLM just kills my soul in the best way possible.
Definitely agree about her delivery of Just Luv Me. I feel the same about "weaker" or rather softer voices, as much as powerhouse vocals like Whitney have my heart, I think it shows a really good pop artist when they can use their vocals in a way that suits their music rather than trying to push their voice and expose their weakness. For example, Selena Gomez is kinda similar to Britney because she has a soft voice that sounds fragile and that really works on Good For You, or Janet Jackson has a sort of sass and attitude to her voice that works really well with songs like What Have You Done For Me Lately. Britney has both of those on this album done to a T They might just be little vocal quirks but it's a big part of why this album sounds better to me.
In some way, she's about level now with Christina's much ridiculed second week dive with Bionic I'd say?
Depends. The drop is on the most basic level much more extreme but it's a looooot easier to have extreme position changes in the album chart than it was back when Bionic was released. With sales so low, the albums clump together much more closely than they used to, so % drops mean more and more over time. At 2010 sales levels, the same % drop in sales that Glory had this week would have resulted in a much less sharp drop. Take that into account and it's less mortifying.
No matter what, the drop for this would never get the same reaction that Bionic's drop did anyway. Britney failures just aren't worth mocking in a post-'Pretty Girls' world.
Can we censor that low in Britney's career. iamspamspamami. Like that?
God, 2013 - 2015 was the worst time to be a Britney fan. I don't care about how well she charts (ofc I want my fave to do well, but, you get what I'm saying). At least we are getting music that is consistently amazing again. I can deal with flopping because if I'm dancing, I know the musics good. ❤️
I've heard she's going to do a bit of UK promo when she arrives for the Apple Music festival. I'm sure the album will re enter the top 40 then, which won't make it look anywhere near as bad.
Do you know if there will be anymore performances or just interviews?
Record breaking Kween :clap3:
Perhaps the Jonathan Ross show?
Give two to three solid interviews and one killer performance of single #2. Sing it live (JLM is a very capable vocal for her).
Bam.
General public interest renewed.
Return to promotes single #3 early next year. This is a climb, not a plateau Brit!
Mood Ring should leak soon.
Labels on Japanese releases always look so cool. Even makes that artwork truly a piece of art.
Also I love 'Still Glory Still Britney'.
I wish I was Japanese.
Also! Remember you can win a copy of that Japanese edition of 'Glory' by rating the album! See my signature~
Down to #95 in the mids today :/
It will likely lose its top 100 placing now after only 2 weeks.
1. Invitation
2. Make Me… (feat. G-Eazy)
3. Liar
4. Man On The Moon
5. Just Luv Me
6. Change Your Mind (No Seas Cortes)
7. Do You Wanna Come Over?
8. Mood Ring
9. Slumber Party
10. Better
11. Love Me Down
12. Just Like Me
-----Deluxe----
13. Hard To Forget Ya
14. Private Show
15. Clumsy
16. If I’m Dancing
17. Coupure ÉlectriqueWhat You Need
NEW
UP to stabdard
DOWN to deluxe
And I fixed the album.
How can you get rid of WYN??? Omg
Well, 'Private Show' is the worst for me (WYN succeeds where PS fails, imo) but I'm not sure I'd get rid all together! Haha.
LEAVE PRIVATE SHOE ALONE.
LMFAO. f***ing hell, autocorrect.
If we've got to kick a song off to make room for moodring then I agree it should be 'what you need!'
Replace 'Better'. Her vocals sound grating on that, IMO. And I've NEVER said that before.
Better is my favourite at the moment! I actually think it's almost single material. The drop is sensational and is everything Clusmy wants to be.
'Better' is the one track I don't remember how it goes. I think I've listened to it twice.
WYN and PS I can take or leave.
I think it's just very refreshing we all have different favorites. Some songs others dislike, others love. It shows how strong the album is.
Private Shoe hahaha.
'Better' is GREAT. Get rid of Private Shoe, Clumsy, What You Need, Hard to Forget Ya and Just Like Me and I'd be happy.
Better is amazing, single worth
Clumsy and What You Need are the only tracks I would consider slipping.
Skipping ffs.
No. Not single worthy before;
Invitation
Just Luv Me
MOTM
DYWCO
Slumber Party
Love Me Down
Change Your Mind
Liar
If I'm Dancing
I think people need to separate favs from singles. I LOVE Invitation but its not single material. Others arent as good but they make better choices
If I was including faves, Private Shoe and Coupre Electrique would be on the list as well.
But, on the real. I think 'Better' would do great as a single even though it's my least fave. But, besides Invitation I think all those others I listed would be superior singles. Though, I'm not sure about MOTM... Part of me thinks it could do well, the other part is unsure.
Songs I'm unsure of:
Do You Wanna Come Over
Love Me Down
Man On The Moon
Better
Songs I think would be hits:
Slumber Party
Just Luv Me
If I'm Dancing
Liar
Others aren't contenders tbh
Slumber party and just luv me would make great singles imo. Neither of them are my favourites - my favourites are change your mind and man on the moon.
'Private Show' is a disgrace, and I'd kick off 'Hard To Forget Ya'. I do have a bit of a soft spot for 'What You Need', but I can see how it'd be jarring.
It's just SO Duffy. I'm not here for Duffney.
I can just envision a massive revenge, 'Toxic' style video for 'Liar'. As it skips from scene to scene we see her kicking all her exes to the ground! Then the final bridge would have her fiercely lining them up all gagged and held as hostages etc.. while she's dancing around them with her kids and ending up with Tyler.
I think Better is actually her best chance for a UK hit. It's really generic but Capital loves that kinda thing. I hope she picks a new single in time for the Apple Music Festival! Make Me has peaked, she shouldn't wait too long.
Just Luv Me and Slumber Party are the best choices I would say, although Man On The Moon is my fave. I just noticed Slumber Party was on a Spotify playlist with over 2 million followers! They're being a lot kinder to her than radio
Change Your Mind is AMAZING! YES Joe! Probably the most instant song for me.
The melody during the bridge and middle 8 of Hard to Forget Ya is stunning and very throwback to the Oops era.
Just Luv Me is beautiful and always gets to me.
I mean I love each song for varying reasons so I'd better leave it all for the rate.
I've been making myself listen to 'Better' and it's better than what I gave it credit for. Still one of the weakest for me, but I'd say it's a 6.5/10 instead of a 4/10 like I said before.
I didn't quite get it myself either, but the ad libs and the repetitive bridge do it for me now.
I can see how "Better" can be a good single choice, but I do feel that the tropical pop sound is peaking with the two Bieber features + "Closer", so if they do choose it as a single they have to do it now because it's all about timing. If they release it at around March/April next year, it's gonna be too milked out and generic to get decent call-out scores.
The Vinyl is now available for pre-order on Amazon (UK): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Glory-Deluxe-Version-Britney-Spears/dp/B01LWIJLV6/ref=sr_1_1_twi_lp__3?ie=UTF8&qid=1473880256&sr=8-1&keywords=britney
For £19, it's a hell of a lot cheaper than importing via britneyspears.com. I cancelled my order which was otherwise £34 + £20 delivery + £18 import charge (incl. Royal Mail fee) = £72.
Christ.
^ I've ordered the vinyl! So glad it's been made available here. I couldn't justify the US import for the reasons you have stated.
Now for her previous albums to be issued on Vinyl, please. *dreams of Blackout on vinyl* :')
Interesting to see what is currently most popular on Spotify:
1. Make Me (42.5 million streams)
2. ...Baby One More Time
3. Toxic
4. Slumber Party (2.4 million streams)
5 Do You Wanna Come Over (4.9 streams)
6. Oops!...I Did it again
7. Just Luv Me ( 2.1 million streams)
8. Womanizer
9. Invitation (1.9 million steams)
10. Love Me Down (1.8 million steams)
All potential single moments, in my opinion. Apart from Invitation, which has clearly benefited from being track 1, as much as I like it.
Would totally be happy with that being the singles released:
2. Slumber Party
3. Just Luv Me
4. Do You Wanna Come Over?
Rumour is that Britney wants "Love Me Down" and RCA wants "Slumber Party" or "Just Luv Me"
Go with whatever Britney wants! They should realise this by now!
I like 'Slumber Party', but I'm surprised at how many people want that to be the 2nd single! 'Love Me Down' is definitely the preferred option for me, out of the two!
The problem I have with Slumber Party being 2nd is that is too similar to Ariana's current single "Side To Side" and I feel it would lose the battle.
As for "Just Luv Me" (forgot to add its an RCA choice too), it would be another slow song, and after "Make Me" its not the best choice.
The thing about what Brit/RCA want is just some made up rumour.
I love Love Me Down a lot too, but there's no way it'd work on radio and the GP the way Slumber Party OR Just Luv Me would. As pop fans I think it's important to note that our taste is more complex and open minded than the general public.
I really want DYWCO.
I think at this point I'm just like, release the good songs and forget about the charts. Clearly radio isnt gonna be here for her, might as well make take some risks
Exactly. Let's face facts, the chance of anything doing well is pretty much nil so let's not beat around the bush and just unleash the banger.
Hanging on at #94 this week in the UK...
Slaying that top 100 like a true icon
yass Britney Jean would never
I don't think so, they are promoting her on their social media.
Just Luv Me is a surefire single I think but I don't want it immediately after Make Me, it's too similar sounding, would prefer some variation!
Since Ariana's Side to Side has become a hit, I've heard quite a few people say that Reggae pop is going to become some kind of trend. Given Slumber Party has been described as a song with a Reggae beat, I think it's probably a really good idea to release this ASAP, if there's going to be a trend, it's always good to be one of the first artists to jump on the wagon, rather than one of the last.
I think 'Love Me Down' would be much more suited, imo.
EITHER, TBH. Just record the video already and release it with a radio premiere in mid October. Do SNL. Confirm the AMA's. Save this era with your best music in almost a decade.
IM SEEING BRITNEY AT APPLE MUSIC fqefwqfwefwqfwqefweqf
so now after a month since this album leaked, my rank would be
1 Make Me...
2 Love Me Down
3 Do You Wanna Come Over?
4 Better
5 Hard to Forget Ya
6 What You Need
7 Slumber Party
8 Change Your Mind (No Seas Cortés)
9 If I'm Dancing
10 Liar
11 Coupure Électrique
12 Mood Ring
13 Just Like Me
14 Clumsy
15 Just Luv Me
16 Private Show
17 Invitation
18 Man on the Moon
bold ones should be singles.
Man On The Moon last?
Just Luv Me @ 15? 👀
Man On The Moon & Just Luv Me are the best thing she's done in her career after BOMT, Gimme More & Lucky.
100/10 moments.
(Ok Everytime too)
(And Break The Ice )
BUT, THAT IS IT.
I just hate vocal effects on my bottom two... JLM is underwhelming
And 'Amnesia'!
Don't even Nick. I can't with your Britney taste and I see you typing. 👋🏻
So close. Lmfao.
I love the simplicity in JLM. Only song I prefer to it is BOMT & GM.
Amnesia is right behind those, fo' sho'.
Man on the moon is the best part about the album! Just luv me is a close second! And invitation is also amazing! How tastes differ. I know man on the moon won't ever become a single. It's going to be my new 'unusual you' which has always been one of my favourite Britney songs.
Britney is performing and being interviewed on Jonathan Ross next week!
Okay, "Just Luv Me" has now completely enveloped my mind... SO LUSH. It's like the best parts of Bieber's "I'll Show You" but amped up to 100.
I cant rank JLM in with the singles since it aint one yet. If I had to rank all of Britney's songs it would be a mess, full of bonus tracks in the top10 Well, my top3 of BTMYH, Lucky and Oops will never change though.
Feel free to say I'm very wrong but Jonathan Ross seems an odd show for Britney promo? Isn't that show the typical "new-ish indie act" promotion vehicle?
Hmm.. I get what you mean, but Madonna performed on there last year iirc. But as a norm, it's definitely more indie-centric. Hey, maybe her NME interview got her the slot
Someone buy me the NME magazine
By the way, Madonna's JR appearance last year did very well for her iTunes performance, with her getting two songs in the Top 50 for the majority of the week. Considering sales are much lower now, you'd imagine Britney could possibly get higher.
Madonna's appearance was a Madonna special too, so if Britney is appearing alongside other guests, there's a better chance of non-fans watching her perform.
#178 in the UK this week, eek! Total of 14k.
002. 10,123
041. 02,084
094. 01,100 (rounded)
178. 00,700 (rounded)
MM is out this week?
Sadly yes
It's ok. Hopefully the album can rebound this week with the promo. Well, more next week, but I hope AMF has a nice boost and she's apparently on Scott Mills tomorrow as well! (Premiere of 2nd single??)
700 copies.
177 on midweek chart
Queen of climbing!!
Glory is up 16 spots on US iTunes to #62
This album is so good...Jesus Britney, give it some justice to it by promoting.
All I wanted was 500k SPS in US and 100k in UK.
EDIT:
Sorry I meant SPS!!!
Can you buy a month long radio deal? That's doesn't seem fair! And I agree - we are seeing loads of promo by Britney this era. We were begging for at least 1 promo performances in the last era.
It's all great promo, but none of it for her new album.
I think it's important to re-establish her brand.. I guess that's what they were trying to do with the Vegas show here last night.
I hope that's the end of the "megamix" performances for a long while and she focuses on promoting Glory now. The 2nd single NEEDS to be out asap
Has Glory left UK albums chart last week?
She was #167 last week and is Top 120 in today's midweeks.
ugh I thought she would be little higher considering she was inside top 40 on itunes.
Glory's had a 100 place leap on Amazon since Loose Women...could it sneak in the top 100 by Friday with newer releases falling?
#113 on Tuesdays midweek...almost inside top 100!!!
Surely it should re-enter the top 100 this week. Get streaming ladies!!
I don't care how this album does. It's a pop masterpiece. Those ignoring it are missing out.
I'm getting annoyed that no 2nd single has been announced yet. Wtf are the label thinking?
I'm starting to wonder if there will even be one?
I'' honestly not sure either
One has been picked and they're working on the video treatment, apparently!
In the poll Billboard has done, "Liar" came in first place as the favorite choice for 2nd single
Apparently it's Slumber Party ft. Tinashe
I can't at Liar winning the poll.... I hope her team know not to listen to the rabid twitter fans.
Liar is good choice for 3rd single tbh. Slumber Party is a must for second one.
Tbh any release would be better than nothing at the moment.
Isnt she back in Vegas soon?
Liar is not single material at all
Slumber Party, Love Me Down, Change Your Mind, Better one of these for next single pls
The other topic reached well over 1,000 posts. So I decided it was enough to actually create a separate topic! Keep all album discussion going in this thread. If you ever want to refer back to the original album discussion thread, then please see the opening post where there is a link!
omg when i read the title I thought Tinashe thing actually is about to happen
I honestly assumed DYWCO was single 2
Utterly unrelated so don't know where to post this but my posting box is covered by pictures of Britney's forehead on the border and if I edit a message, there are just pics of Britney on like the font and size tabs etc while I'm typing!!!!
EDIT: It's finally stopped but I have screenshots of it!)
The album will be re-released this week, replacing the original version of "Slumber Party" with the remix featuring Tinashe.
From http://pulsemusic.proboards.com/post/5914104/thread:
Taking it with a pinch of salt...
What's the point of a full re release?
Currently #69 in the UK and #62 in the US...
I think it's not so much a re-release than it is them just replacing the original song on the digital versions of the album!
For me, both the old & new Glory has just vanished from iTunes lol.
It's #1 on my Top 10 Albums of the Year
http://www.deviouspop.com/deviouspop-top-10-albums-of-2016-5-1.html
Such a great record though?
This album is actually the BEST thing to help you focus and type a whole load of bullshit to finish that essay which is due on Thursday
Japanese original release. Japan tour edition of "Glory" from Britney Spears includes a bonus CD with tracks, reproducing an almost exact set list from her latest tour. Comes with a card featuring album cover artwork (subject to change). *Available for a limited period of time until the end of August.

Much better artwork!! The package feels a tad pointless but nevertheless good to see them making a bit of effort to capitalise on the tour.
Should we do new Glory album rate? I feel like this forum needs some action, and last time DYWCO? won, this time it could be different winner.
Yes!!
waiting for admins respond.
Yes. Go ahead
It'll be nice to see what people rank certain songs now and to give this forum some action!
yaaay i'll open the thread soon
Just read that 'Love Me Down' was scheduled to be the next single after 'Slumber Party', for the Summer (but Glory came to a halt straight after SP). Ughhhhhh.
Also, the Charli XCX song was apparently meant to be for Brit, but ultimately went to Charli!
I can't imagine it in that form on 'Glory'. However, I'm sure they'd have done some tweaks and stuff to make it fit.
I LOVE LMD, the whole album continues to grow every day (still behind itz, blackout and circus ... circus ONLY if amnesia and trouble count.)
BUT WHY THE f*** WAS DYWCO NOT THE FIRST OR AT LEAST SECOND SINGLE. GOD HER TEAM IS LITERALLY USELESS SINCE THE ROLL OUT OF WB AND VEGAS(not bj), how can they be evil and useless?
Do You Wanna Come Over is a BANGER, but it's gay nostali-pop. It'd have never have spent the same amount of time top 100 on Billboard that Make Me did.
3 years since Glory came out!
Such perfect record, still not bored of it!
Same! Such a quality album.
This was something I listened to a lot for like two weeks then didn’t go back too much as a whole.
It was definitely better than Female Fatale and Britney Jean though.
Man on the Moon (Acoustic) sounds so amazing
