I agree
 It could've been so much better as well. The torture scene was just uncalled for and didn't have any tension like Hostel or Saw did. You didn't care. Shame, as I had fairly high expectations going in. |

Well, my last faves were 'The Conjuring' & 'Sinister'. I have such a soft spot for the 'Paranormal Activity' franchise too (even though this new one is bound to be dreadful
 )But other than those films, I think I agree. Nothing else has come close to scaring me lately. I liked 'It Follows' but it didn't really scare me and I just found it to be quite a tense horror/thriller more than outright horror. |

I agree with all of those suggestions, but I'd stop at Paranormal Activity 1 and throw in The Babadook |
