From the director of Cabin Fever, Hostel & The Last Exorcism.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2403021/?ref_=nv_sr_1

Based on The Cannibal Holocaust and is being hyped up to be the Horror event of 2014. His previous films were pretty enjoyable and I look forward to this, about time we got a decent horror that isn't based on supernatural shit or the devil.

Got around to watching this.

Dreadful. I think I have a new worst film of the year.

I agree sad.gif

It could've been so much better as well. The torture scene was just uncalled for and didn't have any tension like Hostel or Saw did. You didn't care. Shame, as I had fairly high expectations going in.

It's like no one knows how to make a decent horror movie anymore. I can't remember the last decent mainstream one.

Well, my last faves were 'The Conjuring' & 'Sinister'. I have such a soft spot for the 'Paranormal Activity' franchise too (even though this new one is bound to be dreadful laugh.gif)

But other than those films, I think I agree. Nothing else has come close to scaring me lately. I liked 'It Follows' but it didn't really scare me and I just found it to be quite a tense horror/thriller more than outright horror.

I agree with all of those suggestions, but I'd stop at Paranormal Activity 1 and throw in The Babadook
