Hello and welcome to the BJSC country rate Credit to Klumzee for suggesting on plug it would be good to do something like this and I thought it was a fab idea! We've had rates based on flag, country name so why not the actual music? It's a bit of a mammoth task but as a bit of a late anniversary thing I thought this would be cool. People can help with write-ups etc. in the results so we get a good idea of what makes each country special etc and what people love.

I used the BJSC 100 list apart from people who didnt have many entries or have quit now and didn't want o be in this, bc I felt that represented most of BJSC's history, but on plug a few were suggested that I added and if there's any absolute glaring omissions I can put them in swiftly if suggested, but I don't want to go too far higher as we're already at nearly 100 countries

We all know the usual rate rules, but here tey are for clarity so I don't have to get HostZilla and complain at people
- Rate each country between 0-10, with ONE optional -1 and ONE optional 11. You can use .5 scores but not -0.5 or 10.5.
- Please try and rate a solid amount of them, like 50-75% maybe? Most of them were in BJSC 100 and around it, so you should have a solid base on them. Some of the "classic" ones I chucked in on request you might be less familiar with, so it's fine to just xx them. But there is the pinned songs of thread where you can look at each country with ctrl + f and refresh your memory.
- Rate based on entries, not the person behind it, name or whatever. Like don't be petty -1ing someone because they snubbed you once or tole your potental or fixed a win xx
- PLEASE STICK TO THIS FORMAT. If you don't vote for a country just put xx don't delete it, its just much easier to input like 100 numbers if it's in the right order Commentary is ofc encouraged alongside it.

You have around 2 weeks but we'll see how things go.

Shall do this at some point soon but I can't believe we haven't done this before! It'll be interesting to see if the countries who top the overall points chart/medal table will also do well in here or is there a chance for newer countries to really shine?

The only way I can rate any country is by using my "Points Given" table (taking into account points for nations who didn't make the finals) - sounds like a bit of research needed

It'll force me to confront the horrible possibility that there is a nation who has never had points from Singerpurear

Look, what we're all waiting for is for someone to drop a rate and start up the fights discussion. So I'm gonna drop something that being off work because of the snow has enabled me to do.

Don't feel intimidated by my comments if you're doing them, I did them really rather quickly and didn't put all that much thought into them so that's my excuse if they sound a bit offensive. Made me realise how many nations I go through periods of not caring about their songs before they pull out something amazing every 4 contests or so.

05 #00274E – has some great moments (Data & Picard, Conquest, Look Up, snow, A+E belatedly) but is also often overhyped and underwhelming to my distinct tastes. Too much RnB or uninteresting blogpop that gets high hyped (Ilia Darlin, Infinity Ink, Pale Waves) without having much to it.
09 Aelandor – I’m hesitant to give you a 10 just yet. Difficult country to have in the contest, it’s really fun having you in so we can discuss the contest together but I’m conscious I pretty much always give you points and that’s because you are almost always sending interesting stuff on the indie spectrum. And the addition of an occasional emo thing like No One Really Wins/Welcome Oblivion or emotional like Old Man is golden. Plus an underdog is always fun to root for.
07 Aeroche – I suspect that the actual result of this will be a slightly foregone conclusion and the king of BJSC will take it quite easily. Rating Aeroche fairly though, though I was sceptical back in the day at the Aeroche dominance, these days I mostly take it in my stride. Because about half of the Aeroche inevitable top 10s are proper stunners. Rockin For Myself and Born Ready last year just so recently. And then there’s ones I don’t get in the slightest like Skyline or Zonderling. But there’s some recognition that has to be given for your talent at finding hits, and I’m more on board than I’m not now.
06 Aesthetica – Currently a nation I’m watching with interest, they started so well with their first few entries but faltered a bit, although not as much as their results reflect, I hope you can get better, Asian pal.
00 Ajanaeda - I do not believe I’ve ever been truly excited about an Ajanaeda entry. SOZ.
06 Altyr Muunilinst – For old time’s sake have a six, it used to be that Altyr was one of my favourite nations with an amazing pop entry nearly every month, The Beginning Of The End (the first entry under the AM brand!) exemplifies the sort of retro Altyr I’m talking about. For several years now it’s been a lot more hit and miss, for every genius entry like Ice Cream, Light Of The Seven or Out Of My System, there’s about two or three pop entries I don’t care for at all).
02 Aprogonia – Never really got very into them so not a huge loss from the contest for musical quality.
05 Avalonia – Actually, even though Avalonia don’t have as many entries, much the same as Altyr, for every fantastic orchestral/trance-adjacent entry like Neverafter, I Do or My Indigo there’s a good portion of entries that leave no impact on me at all.
04 Aquafina – There’s one thing I miss about Aquafina from the contest, and that is Lee’s hilarious desperation. Which would probably be gone if they were entering now. Because mostly their entries were absolute trash. May I remind you all that this boy entered Swedish Angels. And it qualified.
08 Azure – A refreshing more punky alternative to Trifoski.
03 Beaverdonia – Sometimes, it really is the quality of one’s entries that we vote on.
06 Bhangra – A rather pleasant nation most of the time and the Eurodance angle that Bhangra sometimes play on is cool. I should have given more to Lullaby.
02 Bignia-Zaragovina – Jahq will side-eye me when I meet him but aside from when they were borrowing from me (Love Is In Bloom), really quite an awful country. Positive stuff like Tryo, Rubblebucket or BoA is drowned out by the sheer volume of things like Jedward, Andra Day and Marcus & Martinus.
03 BuzzJack Mountain – Yet to really prove themselves well and often entering stuff from the poor side of dance but eventually could produce something really good. There’s potential.
06 Bøtanikkä – Interesting country and I like that they’re not afraid to switch it up a little, and has certainly provided me with many good tunes over the years, LP, Linda Teodosiu, Puthe off the top of my head but sometimes I feel that things like Noga Erez or Alma are a bit too much style over substance, it puts me off a little and it’s only occasionally I get drawn to them.
05 Cadelicia – Chases hype a lot, gets burned a lot is my honest assessment of Cadelicia’s entries. I don’t often feel the heart behind them. A bit arsey of me but that’s a convoluted way of saying they’re often feel generic for what they are. And sometimes, like with After Dark or Reunite, I can feel that but mostly it makes it all feel a bit eh. Occasional entries like Perfume or Daler Mendhi break that but not often enough.
07 Caerfyrddia – A missed country, they knew how to write their narrative and enter some interesting pop tunes. Maybe prolonged exposure in the current climate would change that but for now…
06 Cor Lupus – About half generic hype-chasing a la Cadelicia, but there’s plenty of rock and dance hits in there to enjoy. Way Of Life is an especial underrated favourite to mention.
04 Cowtermont – A bit new so there’s plenty of time for you to make up the distance but I don’t feel a Cowtermontian (?) sound that’s distinct from anyone else’s just yet.
07 Cumulonimbia – Always known how to send a unique sounding entry and a fair amount of the time that hits with me. Sometimes I don’t get on board but mostly it’s good stuff like Miserable America or Fantasy or at least interesting, like Surf Solar.
07 D'yermak'er – Strong pop nation, doesn’t do well in the BJSC, great at Indian music on occasion, not exactly my thing but strong for a nation that isn’t exactly my thing.
08 Daehun – Yes, they’re a bit hilariously inept at times and a bit hilariously cheap at times but I do consider Daehun one of the more reliable nations because a K-Pop entry, good or bad will always stand out from the crowd and back in the day it was more likely than not to be good. Plus occasionally something brilliant like Derniere Danse or Love Doesn’t Need To Pretend happens. Shame about their other two winners though.
05 Deandria – An experimental nation whose experiments fail just about as often as they succeed for me.
07 Desbuanda – Underrated and very very strong when they find their calling. Graveyard Whistling, I Was On Your Side, Trees On Fire, just some of the great tunes that they’ve given us, and they definitely have a sound that is warm and enticing.
08 Dobago – A bit trashy but there’s no denying Dobago are one of the more fun nations in the game right now, all that boppy Eurodance is normally one of my go to highlights of a contest.
04 East Rukahavian – On occasion there’s a highlight, Midnight In Monaco, but I think they’re famously unsuccessful for a reason, not enough that’s memorable
08 Eledan – give me more dark industrial shiz or ethereal foreign-language pop Pav
08 Espen - occasionally a bit of an RnB slant which turns me off them for a while but beyond that lies a nation with a bevy of highlights and things like Nordpolen, Aura and Andrea Dahle that have lasted with me for years.
02 Ethanola – Free Tibet was about the only really good thing (and it was incredible) in a legion of failures. Amnesty granted to Gotham and Back Home too.
07 FARC – Hit and miss but more hit than miss, a lot of the time it’s this incredible blog darling that Jake plucked from the crest of the hype wave (Last Dance or Winterbreak), but sometimes it’s something horrendous like Ida Da Silva or just underwhelming like say, Mocki.
10 FSR Rontvia – I’ve rarely not been on the FSR Rontvia train and there are a ton of highlights that they have scattered throughout their repertoire. Far too many to list but even from before I joined there were constant highlights like Blank, Beautiful Small Machines, Sheelah, Chart Music, that have stuck with me to this day, and I’m always impressed by the ability they have to come up with something new on a fairly regular basis. There are songs I’m not so keen on of course, but they’re so rare as a percentage of all Rontvian entries that I think if I don’t give a 10 for them then what will I give a 10 to?
01 Farahtyn – I think they’re the only long-running nation along with Ajanaeda that I’ve never pointed and it’s mostly for a good reason, the worst of Scandi male-pop mostly. I kind of like their winner these days so they can have a point.
09 Fljótavík – Few nations can pull off a longing epic indie sound as well as Fljotavik consistently can. Over many different acts but they’re rarely by an act I’ve heard of and I’m always interested to hear what they have this time, quite a lot of the time it’s a highlight of the contest.
03 Flynnonda – Gonna be a bit rude here, there’s too much simpering dull pop and inept indie bands to get me really excited about Flynnonda most of the time.
06 Greenfroze – Greenfroze vary wildly between amazing Nordic or Asian pop and things that are complete and utter crud and not even in the ironic way I sometimes like. Some of my favourite early entries have been by them though and stuff like Revolver keeps them in my good books on occasion.
06 Harmonica – Harmonica seem super cool when they have good entries (Kaneholler) and not so cool when they have bad entries (some country shet, Road Less Travelled excluded). About above average overall.
07 Helgon – The history of Helgon/Syndare is rather good, they started off very well and then went through pretty distinct dark and golden age periods. Vienna Teng’s so good it’s worth at least a 7 though.
07 Hendinia – Excellent pop senses really make Hendinia an essential to have around. Certainly not on them all the time and I’ve pointed them only three times in the last couple of years but there’s been enough highlights over the years for a 7.
08 Jadakissnia – Concentrated high quality since joining, it’s a rare Jadakissnia entry I don’t feel the urge to point in the final, even if I don’t do so in the semi because as has been noted several times by me, they have that grower factor.
03 Jayrusalem – Always love seeing Jay in the contest, almost never love what he enters.
02 Jukianie – Aside from their debut which was pleasingly trashy I can’t recall if there was another Jukianie entry I liked.
05 Jupiterdonia – Bit new to tell and certainly potential but nothing really proven yet.
08 Kluminican Republic – Interesting and daring nation, sometimes has a misfire or something forgettable but I like Kluminican entries quite a lot these days, the ability they have to enter anything is highly valued. Lone Digger is enough for a high score but it’s not just that. Pogo, Hendersin, Wave Racer a while back, all excellent.
07 Kopecka – back in the day they were at the forefront of Scandipop and that was great, there were a few less reputable pop songs but mostly I enjoyed myself a Kopecka entry.
05 Kylienips – Kylienips had a bit of a golden age around their winner but there’s too much crap in the lineup to really put them higher.
09 Land of DW – One of my favourite nations of late, can go strong dance or rock or crazy or anything else I really like. Frank gets what I want from BJSC. Most of the time. Some of their tracks that really get latched onto by BJSC are a bit pedestrian. But there’s enough stuff like ID2 or I Tokuni that is awesome and is well worth a 9.
07 Lotunia – Already a nation to watch by their debut and their first couple of entries this year! Looks like they could become a really good nation in the future.
07 Mdice – Missed quite a lot, I imagine all their entries to sound as indie-cool as I Belong In Your Arms (Japanese Version) now. Their crap winners are mostly what drags this down.
06 Medhelnia - great modern indie-pop things like Parade Of Lights are counterbalanced with generic boring pop. This is reflective of about all of my comments.
02 Mezidinia – completely and utterly not my thing
04 Mulgracia – wasn’t much of a fan outside of the occasional generic dance entry that caught my ear or something like Rationale.
08 N DNTN – one of the most interesting nations for some years now, rarely an entry I forget about at all, often from a subgenre that isn’t in BJSC much and Asian entries on occasion are welcome.
07 New Lexico – rather good for a pop nation because of the European slant, has quite a few good foreign language entries in the lineup and most of the time Lex is fairly close to my idea of good pop.
06 Niceland – great with indie-rock and La Louze, less great with other things so far.
06 Numayania – there’s a Numayanian sound that is recognisable and is normally either deep-voiced queer pop or ethereal Scandipop. Actually, both of those are rather nice genres generally and normally I quite like it but the standard pop can sometimes be a bit dull.
06.5 Ojnoj – I think Ojnoj and Ramrynia are very cut from the same cloth, but Ojnoj just don’t have as much natural cheapness about them. Therefore they are slightly better and get my only half-score.
05 Oslol – I’m always amazed at the gap between here and what I hear of PJSC. There are some very interesting Oslol entries, Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence is a great example but quite often they’re less to my taste.
05 PRoJ – I find a lot of PRoJ entries go way over my head and I haven’t found as many highlights as I’d like to from them. However they did enter Superfast Jellyfish once.
04 Palmyra – the odd cute thing like Somewhere Anywhere, not that good on average.
10 Persephonia - one of my favourite countries over multiple years, there are few entries I don’t give the time of day to (Aron Can is the biggest one I can think of that I didn’t really like) and so many highlights from Zola through Shakushain and Cry For Freedom all the way to End Of The Dream. Definitely worth a 10.
08 Pupok - trash but adorable. I find a lot of personality with the pop entries and they’re very willing to explore.
09 Quintessa – finding quite an affinity with Quintessa lately and in truth I pretty much always had it, I was rooting for their entries even back when they used to be ‘rubbish’. Some of my best highlights from recent years have come from Quintessa though. Genesis, Square Hammer, Who You Are, all excellent.
06 Ramrynia – It wouldn’t be the same without Ryan sending a cheap pop entry, over the years there have been a fair few ones I like and by now they should have won, with Alida in particular.
04 Republic Of Adonia – a bit meh which is good to be honest, if it were a country that was letting entries I actually liked go to waste with deduction I’d probably be madder, but most of the time I just don’t really care that much about the Adonian entries. Exceptions happen like last month though.
07 Rolloland – give me all of the progressive rock I love it.
07 République d'Ashton – if I give any less I’m getting banned nah, they are a good nation, I love the commitment to foreign language and there’s a fair chance of some good trash or good pop from somewhere like France or Finland. There’s also a fair chance of some absolutely awful stuff but that’s less often.
05 Sandebörg – I want to like Sandeborg more but there’s a bit too much trash I’m not interested in and poor Eurorejects. Occasionally awesome.
01 Sandénia – jesus no at most of these
02 Scherzland – jesus even more no. Actually, Cady Groves was alright.
08 Singerpurear – super underrated, almost always entering something interesting, switching it up rather regularly and introducing me to Kishi Bashi is well worth a lot.
08 Skall – very uncaring attitude towards success which is great lately, and it produces a lot more interesting entries. I find myself drawn to a lot of Skall entries plus there’s things like September and Azz Klapz in your history. Not this month but that’s an exception.
07 South Danaelanda – premier dance nation and that’s worth a 7. Of course there’s times when I don’t like the style of dance you choose at all but when you enter trance, Eurodance, electro or something else I can like I normally find myself giving you quite a lot.
05 St. Burbia – The modern RnB nation in my mind and a lot of the time I find them a bit not catering to me, but occasionally they can come through with something like All On Me.
07 Suedonia – a bit less reliable than their counterpart in retro crime Singerpurear and not as progressive rock focused as Rolloland but still an enjoyable presence in the contest most of the time.
08 Summericia – love how you’ve found a niche taking from rock and witch house, moves you closer to my alignment of countries and I’m liking Summerician entries more often than not these days.
20 Séyetana
09 Taahino – has a huge number of great entries in their lineup, has faltered a bit from perfect nation that they were but that might be my tastes changing more than anything, there’s few Taahino entries I think are actually bad and most come close or into my votes still.
04 Tartford – love it when Tartford do pull out a banger but that’s quite a rare occurrence.
10 Terra Avium – like a more orchestral and epic Persephonia and it’s a rare contest where I’m not voting for a Terra Avium entry. I think they have a bag of miracles.
04 The Actual Republic of Bellamia – occasionally good for a nation that is most comfortable entering young white boys* strumming lightly on guitars with a tropical house backing.
*minimum hair length – 20cm
05 Thelonia – I find some Thelonia entries that interest me but not all that often. MC BOING wwas the first one in ages.
06 Tinnmark – Some excellent entries, it’s an absolute crime in retrospect that Play My Drum wasn’t a winner, we certainly didn’t need Easy Love in that lineup, and when they tear themselves away from dull pop there’s interesting Norwegian rap and metal in there sometimes. I like how Jerick focuses on his home country, adds a bit of a unique sound to them.
07 Triangoaldonia – any nation that takes from NoCopyrightSounds at least a couple of times gets in my good books, those intriguing instrumentals.
11 Trifoski – amazingly talented at finding songs to please all BJSC comers and there’s so few Trifoski entries I don’t like and I remember so many of them that if I was going to give anyone the 11 I think it has to be them. Just looking through that entry list and I can’t actually find one I don’t like. Maybe Major Happy but that’s just a slight ‘eh’. Considering most countries here are ‘I like a few entries from you but so many are awful or meh and I never listen to them anymore’, that’s really unusual and well worth a top score.
05 Ultraviolenceland – was really quite good at the start but started going into mainstream pop and that put me off a lot as I couldn’t really find any meaning from the songs anymore.
09 Umiiruka - Even though so many Umiiruka entries were failures, I was on board with almost all of them, there was a cool longing to the pop entries, the foreign language entries felt beautifully desperate and there were few I wouldn’t have liked to see do better.
03 United States Of Jack – Not really my thing most of the time. I was surprised how much I liked Bree Runway. Not enough to vote for it but the rest of the list of entries isn’t really my thing at all. Their Fefe Dobson entry aside.
07 Unovia – Like with Hendinia, a load of strong pop entries and I’ve voted for several of them, certainly not always my thing but got me enough times to respect them.
07 Varakë – love myself a bit of Varake now and then, perhaps not as much as some people but they are a well underrated nation. Pr0files should have done so much better.
04 Vülkyria – not so keen on most entries, things like Lushington (the first one, not the second one) are wonderful exceptions
08 What – dat metal swag. Please more. As always whenever mentioning you. 2 10/10 entries and one 8/10 entry is a high number for one of our most elusive nations.
04 Yehesi - not so keen on most entries, things like Dead V are wonderful exceptions, fight me irl
10 Zechonia – Zech come back please, if even once! Excellent nation and what I aspire to be sometimes.

Oh Izzles finally kickstarting the rates *.* and with a fairly in depth one too so hooray. I'm pleased to have obtained a rare 8+ score from you in amongst a lot of brutal reviews Séyetana seemed to particularly appreciate Jadakissnia's 2016 output (with all those growers, pleased to see you mention that haha), hopefully this will be a good year too.

I’ve never sent a song I don’t like tbh. I think I’ve only chased hype once maybe and that was with “Palette” but it was a pretty ‘Cadelicia’ entry anyway. I’d even go as far to say that “Tunak Tunak Tun” was hype chasing considering how meme-y it was!

I’ve sent a wide range of genres, both songs that could do well and songs I expect to bomb. Just because I don’t stick to a signature sound and like to branch out and try new things doesn’t mean I chase hype.

It’s not my fault that since the inclusion of Plug.dj my songs nearly always do well there and never as well in the actual contest, therefore buildings my confidence in my songs.

I actually thought you enjoyed most of entries even in a “it’s ok but not BAD” way but I guess I was mistaken.

If anything Oliver, hype-chasing was referring to how it's easy for you to get hype and then fail which I notice more with you and is a little unfortunate for you so I sympathise! Combined with how I know I must be off a little with you and your music taste between what I know of it outside and what you send to BJSC because I should like your entries more than I do. I was just quickly looking through the entry lists of everyone to get a feel - a 5 in general is something along the lines of about 15% I really like, 40% are enjoyable enough and the remaining half aren't for me, I made my scores fairly harsh. Which is close enough to how it is, I probably noticed things like Feed Me a bit more than Tielsie when I was making the judgement.

One thing I've noticed since I've read your comment is that I rarely send a foreign-language entry (particularly Asian entries which I think has never happened) despite the fact I'm often pointing foreign-language songs! I tried comments, but I'd just be repeating myself and it wouldn't be particularly enthralling to read and Iz summed it up for each country better than I did so the score speaks for itself and I decided to find a choice cut from each country - if you click your country name, you will find a single entry that I've really enjoyed from all of you, spin-offs, chart hits and entries from before my time do count, yeah I cheated a bit but oh well, at least it's consolation prize if you got a low score

As for the scoring itself, it's completely arbitrary but it's ROUGHLY based on how much I've enjoyed your entries and pointed them for the duration of my time in the contest. I tend to like left-field genres so countries that sent that tended to get a higher mark. Don't be put down by a low score, it just means you just haven't fully captivated me as a nation yet, and in most cases, I'm expecting one right back

Yay for M+A's lil cult following despite it flopping in the final (I know Rich and popchartfreak are pretty big fans too), I remember thinking that had absolutely no chance of qualifying after it getting slaughtered on plug.dj with about 8 mehs or something, the worst reaction I can remember for one of my entries so yeah, was definitely surprised when my streak wasn't destroyed three contests in (...just four instead *_*). Italian disco house ftw x

(my fave thing about M+A is that they have a collab with DENA ofc)

Slaying the commentless 7s... until Liam's 7 with a comment arrived *.* and that's a great one to receive! I'd say that I have my signature sounds like dark or synthy stuff, but I do try and switch it up quite a bit to prevent things from becoming stagnant, while trying to put my own stamp on the contest at the same time, so I am very pleased that you have recognised that. 'Scope' is a superb choice also!

09 #00274E ~ I'm dumb for passing on 'Ghost' but at least you saw sense and unleashed that paperclip on us. A standout nation for sure with similar music taste to me!
08 Aelandor ~ almost a 9, a welcome member of the #rockbloc but also deviates from that sound wonderfully. See 'Tides' in particular. A seriously underrated nation who is rocketing up my 'points given' list at the moment... except when they DNQ like last month (with such a good song </3)
10 Aeroche ~ provided me with my EOY #1 in 2016 and introduced me to witch house which is now of course a staple in Jadakissnia *.* I'm not always here for the more 'generic dance' offerings but I love when we are on the same wavelength which seems to still be a decent amount
06 Aesthetica ~ still only voted for you once but a couple of your best entries have DNQed anyway. Definitely a nation who brings something different to the table and is unapologetically themselves even when they DNQ so often. Does K-Pop better than Daehun
05 Ajanaeda ~ started off really strong with 'Best Thing', then had a few entries I didn't care for, then won me back with the stunning 'Xtalk'. Come back!
08 Altyr Muunilinst ~ I stanned Altyr to the high heavens in 2015 with the synth thing they had going on (and Koven), then found myself voting for them less and less, but they've still had a couple of gems since like 'Light Of The Seven' and 'Closer To Life'. Can be really good when they want to be.
05 Aprogonia ~ didn't get to experience enough of this fellow BJSC 74 debutant unfortunately </3 they had a sassy sound going on which wasn't always my cup of tea but they did have a couple of songs worth voting for. Someone has said before that they were like an early St. Burbia and I totally get that.
08 Avalonia ~ love the cinematic stamp that Avalonia have in their sound sometimes, plus 'Mars' and 'I Do I Do' are still standout tunes of life
07 Aquafina ~ Aquafina's sound was very accessible in a good way, not an eye-roll worthy super generic one. They simultaneously provided my EOY #1 in 2015 with Galantis but also one of my least faves of that year with Sigala a nation with 'Important' in their repertoire can't be penalised too much for 'Easy Love' tho
07 Azure ~ a Trifoski protégé for sure, naturally. Hope they'll pop back into the contest more again as they're fabulous when they're on it.
08 Beaverdonia ~ absolutely bonkers which I love them for but they can do 'credible' songs well too. Beaverdam boasts Shimmy shimmy off a cliff, a Greek camel song, Ganjaman, a Bollywood bop and even a winning song, despite the rampant Beaverdoniaism that plagues BJSC.
05 Bhangra ~ kinda fades into the background a bit as a nation for me (unfortunate that you fall after Beaverdonia here), but I have voted for three of your songs so you must be doing something right anyway. Plus you provided early BJSC with Mike Oldfield x2 <3
03 Bignia-Zaragovina ~ our sounds are just worlds apart, it's not uncommon for me to think that a Bignia song is one of the worst in the semi but there was this one time when you really shocked me and sent White Night Ghosts which was nothing like your usual sound and far more up my street. More surprises like that plz x
07 BuzzJack Mountain ~ a very intriguing nation who got off on the wrong foot for me, so glad that you ditched the original songs as they were awful 'Wasting My Life' gave me nightmares. But I love what BJ Mountain has become, the dark stuff like 'Tension' is heavenly and you were absolutely robbed last month, that was a new fave for me.
09 Bøtanikkä ~ you've grown into such an essential nation for me! You do 90s dance like no other and generally bring the bangers, 'Dance Like You Shoot' and 'Spirit Of The Hawk' were both amazing last year. So yeah, have a 9 for being consistently great.
09 Cadelicia ~ a nation I instantly took to with brilliant offerings like 'We Have To Talk' and 'Don't Talk To Me' (lmao *_*), I was worried that your sound was becoming a bit more generic than I was used to (stuff like Jane XØ) but I've had a new wave of big Cadelician love lately with your anniversary entry, 'SHIVA' and 'Flamenco' so you've still got it really <3 you were still impressing me last year as well on the whole actually, it's just that your best stuff was DNQing 'Distante' in particular was robbed
07 Caerfyrddia ~ a nation who have only entered once since I joined, in 100, but I loved that entry and some of your back catalogue sounds up my street (Ólafur Arnalds anyone?! *.*) and I love your country name so have a 7 x
09 Cor Lupus ~ the bond will always be strong after debuting together *.* sonically, you were another nation who got off on the wrong foot for me with the debut, but you quickly flipped my opinion with 'Push' straight after and have just become essential now! I'd say you're the nation with the highest quality DNQs (so many injustices) but I vote for plenty of your finalists as well, you're in the two 18s club after all. This was so close to a 10 and I'm sure would be soon!
08 Cowtermont ~ such a promising new nation, you're on a roll at the moment! Keep this up and you could definitely become a fave in time <3
09 Cumulonimbia ~ has a very 'credible' sound (that comment mainly stems from that BBC remix of course) that often caters to my taste quite well. I was surprised to find that you're 'only' 20th in my points given list but I'm sure you'll get up into that top 10 in no time as the quality is good more often than not.
08 D'yermak'er ~ you went out on SUCH a high with 'Golden Ticket' <3 I feel like that ended the D'yermak'er narrative perfectly, although obviously I'd rather you came back has a good ear for a pop song but also threw a few bhangra bangers into the mix which made you stand out more
03 Daehun ~ I finally voted for Daehun for the first time this year omg!!! More stuff like Haiku Hands please *.* we have little overlap otherwise and your sound was getting quite predictable and stagnant, but moments like 'Haide' and the aforementioned 'Not About You' are definitely a step in the right direction
10 Deandria ~ I have given 100 points to you despite a lot of your best entries DNQing so yeah... *.* definitely one of the members that I'm most musically compatible with. I appreciate the synths, the weird but wonderful moments and how you're consistently so good despite switching up your sound from time to time. The cherry on top of the cake is you providing my EOY #1 2017 with 'Ankara' <3 never leave us again plz
07 Desbuanda ~ your entries go over my head a bit from time to time but then you are also capable of delivering such MOMENTS like 'Matadora', 'Can't Have' and 'Exhumed' <3 you started off this year excellently by receiving a 15 in 101 also. very close to an 8, just a bit more consistency needed for moi.
09 Dobago ~ I loved a bit of Dobago from the word go when 'Johnny G (The Guidetti Song)' got my silver what a guilty pleasure that was! your sound has become a bit more ~serious~ since then but that's no bad thing when you provide gems like 'Don't Be So Shy' and 'The Legend'! I also really appreciate how you deviate from the dancebloc as well which makes you less predictable, it was such a shock to see 'Journey' cropping up in the contest for instance, but very welcomed!

When you're good, you're great.
08 Eledan ~ A nation that definitely needs to stick around more as your sound is very interesting and up my street when you do enter! '$ORO' remains a masterpiece.
10 Espen ~ one of my absolute faves <3 one of those rare nations that has at least 2 18s from me and I find myself voting for your entries almost all of the time, our music taste is very similar. Not afraid to take a risk either which makes Espen as a nation even more appealing. One of these days you'll win this!!
07 Ethanola ~ I was one of those dirty 'Mutter' stans it was quite amusing how much you trolled plug with that and DJ Marfox :') but yeah, you were sending a lot of good quality dance music for me and 'I'll Wait For You' was a very welcome switch-up too <3
07 FARC ~ a nation I was initially all over with stuff like 'Air It All Out' and 'Save Me', FARC is VERY good with the bangers. But there's been a little too much blogpop that hasn't really captured me much for me to stan more. Can't believe I haven't voted for you since Morgxn hopefully that'll change soon.
09 FSR Rontvia ~ a longstanding nation who still has it *.* I really appreciate how open-minded you are with your entries with the constant switching up, I find that a lot of them appeal to me as well which is a bonus <3 'Illumbarada' and '7even' were seriously stunning for starters. Then you just unleash something like Tina Guo on us *.* amazing.
02 Farahtyn ~ not my cup of tea at all unfortunately, like Bignia I feel like I've ranked Farahtyn quite low for each entry but there hasn't been a White Night Ghosts moment to counteract that. You haven't really entered that much since I joined tbf so I still need to get to know your sound a bit better.
09 Fljótavík ~ Radio 2 FLJ era aside () the quality of a lot of your output in the contest is wondrous, I've given you quite a lot of big points in the past and your peak is definitely UNKLE thus far <3 our music taste is quite similar anyway so it makes sense that it would extend to the contest. Just need to get into your 2018 entries more now.
07 Flynnonda ~ like Desbuanda, a lot of stuff goes over my head BUT you are very capable of providing moments also, Tame Impala and SPELLES were both magnificent I find myself rooting for Flynnonda because I know they're capable of stuff like that but often have a hard time catching a break as your sound can be quite subtle a lot of the time.
01 Greenfroze ~ I have still not voted for a single Greenfroze entry which is pretty tragic! Our taste is just worlds apart and some of your entries can be quite offensive to the ears, like 'Your Make-up Is Terrible' buuuut I've given you a point for 'Don't Wait Up' as that was 16th for me at the time and I would've voted for it now, more like that!
06 Harmonica ~ another country who I don't point very much because my taste often doesn't favour the pop/country-type stuff you send, but you switch it up from time to time so effectively, I loved both Sleigh Bells and Kaneholler for instance!
07 Helgon ~ a really cool nation who needs to come back permanently! 'In The Flames' was absolutely flawless.
07 Hendinia ~ one of my favourite pophoe nations, you have so many entries that are infectiously fun from 'House Of Cards' to 'Friday Night', even I cannot deny them <3 you also surprise me from time to time, like being into witch house! 05 Jukianie ~ a sassy Aprogonia/St. Burbia-esque nation who need to enter more as I don't have thaaaat much to judge you on! 'Work' was a tune though.

10 Kluminican Republic ~ you had flashes of brilliance in the past (like 'Lone Digger') but you absolutely came into your own last year, I was in awe of how many times you popped up in my EOY countdown RÜFÜS, Burial, Smile.dk... yes yes yes!! Spot on with the 'credible' choices and also guilty pleasures. Plz come back x
06 Kopecka ~ a nation who has only entered once since I joined but I've voted for a few of your songs in Re:LOADED so your back catalogue is clearly pulling me in a bit!
07 Kylienips ~ I'm still sad that you're no longer with us in the contest, you weren't the most consistent nation ever in terms of getting high points from me, but you had amazing moments like 'Sorry' and generally quite a likeable sound.
08 Land of DW ~ gave you high points for Art vs. Science and then there was an almighty drought for ages, but I've been loving your sound over the past two years now (synths and spookiness was particularly a treat for the ears with Austra and Eivør), looking forward to Land of DW 106!
08 Lotunia ~ such an exciting nation already, you snatched my first 18 of the year with the out-of-this-world quality of 'Bánh Trôi Nước' and have accumulated quite a few more points since then, could definitely be one of my favourites in time if this is anything to go by
07 Mdice ~ a nation that was around way before my time, but I've dipped into old contests before and liked what I saw, an Aeroche/Aquafina type nation - successful with a very accessible sound, but not in a bad way at all
08 Medhelnia ~ so glad that you've returned! we have quite a bit of musical crossover (you do have both a witch house entry and synthy ones in your back catalogue for starters) and I find myself excited to find out what you've sent, so you're definitely ticking the boxes and exciting me musically
06 Mezidinia ~ quite an underdog nation, but Jadakissnia love a charity case entry and I've provided quite a few points to your DNQs over the past couple of years
07 Mulgracia ~ veered into formulaic dance a bit too much but could really surprise us from time to time with stuff like Rationale and Cobi. A nation who I miss for sure!
10 N DNTN ~ please come back!! An incredibly interesting nation who is still in my top 10 despite being absent as of late. Love your music taste, especially when you send weird but wonderful stuff like 'One Foot In The Grave' and 'Dry'! Brrrrrr snap
06 New Lexico ~ a pophoe nation who I'm warming to more as of late - 'Better Sit Down Boy' was infectious, 'Hero' was a stunner and 'Word Of Mouth' is stuck in my head on a weekly basis. Keep up the goods.
04 Niceland ~ a nation who I'm yet to vote for as your sound has been quite generic for me in the past, but I feel like your entries are definitely improving as of late ('We Are The West Indies' is far from generic plus 'Broken Love' and 'La Louze' weren't far off) so it can only be a matter of time before I break that barrier.
03 Numayania ~ wasn't really feeling either of your 74 or 75 entries, but your 100 one was a pleasant surprise iirc so I'm here for the slight improvement.
05 Ojnoj ~ I am often pretty indifferent to your entries, but Leon Else was a gem and your recent choice of AQ was such a surprise so I'm intrigued to see what Ojnoj continue to provide, I'm sure the only way is up with these flashes of potential.
07 Oslol ~ Like Altyr, I was such an Oslol stan at the beginning with Findlay and Hopium receiving my 12s in their respective semis but then I found myself cooling down a bit, I have voted for you a few more times but not quite in the same double-figure kinda way. Plus hell no at the screechfests of Elle King and Miss Li hope I can stan something again in the future.

03 Palmyra ~ king of sending songs that seem misguided but then actually qualify. Yet to properly get anything since you returned but holding out hope.
11 Persephonia ~ couldn't be anyone else, I am still yet to snub a single Persephonian finalist my musical twin for sure who is always inspired, exciting, standing out from the crowd and just taking all my points left, right and centre. Although having said that, I am actually yet to give you a medal position this year (ermagerd) but a 12 was close enough and I'm sure one of them can never be toooo far away. Some proper BJSC faves in your back catalogue, 'Cry For Freedom' has cemented itself as my favourite winner and stuff like 'Waves', 'Thelema' (which deserved so much more) and 'Habib Galbi' (all receiving 18s from me ) are all such BJSC classiques in Jadakissnia. Keep up the brilliant work x
08 Pupok ~ a nation who initially sent pretty safe pop like 'Dancing With The Devil' and 'Better Off' (interwoven with the gem that was 'Slow Dancing' ofc ) but then suddenly exploded in 2016! Your entries were pretty polarising for me during that time, I have already made my feelings clear on 'Wimbledon' and 'Daddy Says No' enough x but stuff like 'Tequila', 'So You Think You Can f*** With Me Do Ya' and 'Give Love A Try' were genius. You topped everything else with 'Mutant Brain' tho, so insane and brill!! Perhaps veering back to a more safe poppy sound lately like the earlier days again but I'm sure another Pupok gem can't be too far around the corner
10 Quintessa ~ I have given you double-figure points on SO many occasions now! There was of course the glory days of late 2015 with Avec Sans and Mirror Talk but you've quietly been racking up further smashes for me like 'Y Ddawns', 'Gypsy' and 'Heaven'... and that's not even touching ground on this year yet, where I've already given you a 13 and an 11 some months I don't get stuff you send (like 'Devil') but I know I'll eventually keep rushing back for more, so many classy faves mentioned here and then 'Gypsy' is such a guilty pleasure, electro-swing should never die.
06 Ramrynia ~ cheap ermagerd!!!1 Should be a 0 for Tich alone but I'd be lying if I said that I hadn't enjoyed quite a few of your entries over the years, you can be really fun with stuff like Level 3 and then you hit me out of nowhere with the very powerful 'White Water', a nation who I can definitely appreciate on occasion even if on paper they shouldn't really be my cup of tea.
08 Republic Of Adonia ~ you can be really intriguing Mathikins, I love your darker side musically with stuff like Lorn and JUTRO, hell yeah!! Don't rly get the K-Pop stuff if I'm honest but generally I'm intrigued for an Adonia entry, now you just need to vote on time more
08 Rolloland ~ one of my favourite newer nations for sure! 'Routine' was an absolute stunner and 'Bullets' catered to my trip-hop loving side just perfectly. You definitely offer something a bit different to the contest with your epic long songs and I'm here for it.
06 République d'Ashton ~ a nation who is REALLY coming into their own lately, I've definitely been here for 2018 Ashton! The points drought was ridiculous between 'I'll Wait For You' and 'Attitudeproblem' so I'm glad that happened and that I've voted for you more since then. Keep up the good work as of late ~

05 Scherzland ~ I was liking the Scherzland comeback (especially the graphics *.*) so it's a shame you've dipped out again! Black Saint was a tune, I'm sure you could've delivered some more goods.
09 Singerpurear ~ I was obsessed with your nation back in 2015, of course Jadaphonia started the 'Love Mera Mera Hit Hit' to qualify campaign and it was such a moment when it actually did *.* then you had other standout moments like Sandra and the gorgeous Kishi Bashi song <3 things were a bit more patchy after that but you were definitely getting back in my amazing books with 'Waiting For The Stars' last year and 'Till The Am' this year! I appreciate that you like to stand out from the crowd and also provide us with retro entries!
10 Skall ~ it's impressive that you're not far off my top 10 'points given' list when you DNQ far too often with some of your best entries :/ you bring the bleeps, synths and guilty pleasures like 'Bye Bye Mi Amor' and 'Paris Latino' so basically the ultimate recipe for a favourite country. Keep on taking those risks, one of these days they'll pay off more, well they better do anyway, BJSC doesn't know what it's missing.

10 Summericia ~ Your entries didn't stand out too much for me initially (except KEYS&CAGES which deserved more) but my god, you totally came into your own with CRIM3S onwards!! Your sound started to remind me of my own with stuff like that and Carpenter Brunt (which was ofc a potential of mine), so of course you get a big seal of approval from me, so consistently great as of late! Now you just need to come back x
09 Séyetana ~ another nation who dares to be different, woop woop, we like this. You love your Asian music but you can't really be boxed into that, because you switch it up so much alongside, you had the rap risk by Goodbye Tomorrow for starters that TOTALLY paid off and of course my favourite by you to date is still the eclectic experience that is 'Tanz Mit Mir' *.* I'm always intrigued to find out what you send as we do have our musical crossovers and it's rare that you'll find something generic from Séyetana.
08 Taahino ~ another solid #rockbloc nation like Aelandor who also aren't afraid to switch it up, I loved your experimental era with stuff like 'Human', I wish it had paid off a bit more! 2018 is looking good so far also after how much I took to 'Echo'!
08 Tartford ~ it sucks that 'poor brave Tartford' is actually a thing I got off on the wrong foot with Maria Hazell but you quickly brought the goods with Son Lux and then Cigarettes After Sex x2, can we expect 'Crush' by them any time soon? I also appreciated the sending of Crystal Castles, a very intriguing nation who deserve to catch a break more.
10 Terra Avium ~ my second favourite country for sure <3 So much to fawn over from witchy stuff, synths, beautiful classical moments, post-rock, emotional stuff that packs a punch like 'I've Been Secretly Falling Apart' and 'Pariah', interesting #foreignbloc stuff, solid dance entries... you name it! I have voted for Terra Avium a whopping 18 times since I've joined as we have such a similar taste in music and your entries are incredibly standout.
06 The Actual Republic of Bellamia ~ very Bignia with the twinks and pure pop but more to my taste when you send stuff like Chase Atlantic, Ulrik Munther and Conrad Sewell. One of these days you'll come back and give me one measly point!!

02 Triangoaldonia ~ responsible for possibly the worst BJSC entry ever 'We Are Balloons' and had quite a few generic entries. But there were a couple of good'uns like 'Spirals' for instance so that's gotta be worth something.
10 Trifoski ~ My third favourite country and I'm sure the nation who will be winning this if there are actually results, there's something for everyone really as a Trifoski entry is always different to the last one. There are so many brilliant moments from you that I don't even know where to start. I guess my favourite of yours is 'Sphynx' so a special shoutout to that <3 keep being the weird but wonderful nation fighting the agenda (even tho you do rly well) that we all love forevermore
07 Ultraviolenceland ~ Another pophoe nation that I've definitely taken to on the whole! There are elements of our taste that really don't overlap but there are also definitely areas that we do share, you've had quite a lot of wonderful moments really like Nimmo, Ana Mena, Kinnie Lane, Jaded etc. - definitely here for the foreign pop it seems and your idgaf rebranding lately has been quite something glad you're back!

05 United States Of Jack ~ it's a shame that you've left us again quickly as I was quickly warming to what you were sending, Bree Runway in particular was very topical.
08 Unovia ~ one of my favourite 'pophoe' nations for sure, I had such an amazing introduction to your sound with Courtney Barnett and Grace *.* but since then I've dipped in and out of pointing you, 'Mirage' was a lush ballad, 'Anna Wintour' really stood out from the crowd and not to mention pointing you just last contest with the banging 'Brujeria'! Lots of enjoyable output to be found for sure.
07 Varakë ~ an underdog country that I like to root for. Generally great output, was fab to see you catch a break with 'Visele'
06 Vülkyria ~ I've still somehow never voted for you, what?! I feel like you have a lot of consistent 'near misses' for me that are close to making my votes, one day you'll send something that I'll be all over, I just know it. The potential is definitely there.
08 What ~ an 8 off the back of three entries, that impact. Your first two were both 11/10s though and you quickly found your feet as an eclectic nation with a fab music taste. Gotta say that I was pretty disappointed by the 100 entry though, you to come back again and end on a bang!
