Baffling re: Zara Larsson. Ah well, even if they don't support it looks like it should be a hit without them anyway!
Did Danny L Harle go from C list straight to A list?
Radio 1 really annoy me at times, I mean they had no reason to snub 'Stand By You' following the success of 'Fight Song' and I don't see why they would snub 'Lush Life' considering how well it's doing on iTunes and the success of 'Never Forget You'.
Before people ask why they haven't added Rihanna, I think it's probably because they already decided the playlist before knowing she was dropping the single out of nowhere.
Brilliant clearout, though Coldplay have replaced themselves. (With a less annoying song thank god) elated to see Broken Flowers on the A list - please be a hit!
I honestly think Zara is still to come!
Adele, Halsey, Jess, Jonas Blue being added and Little Mix + Taylor + Birdy being moved up
99% sure Zara will be playlisted in upcoming weeks, remember it hasn't been out for 2 weeks yet and it is being treated OA/OS - it is likely the impact date isn't until March as that is when her album is coming out. I'd expect playlisting maybe 2nd week of February.
No Zara
No Selena
Wot
I think there's still time for Fleur East, like I said before we don't know when the intended impact date is.
But then they could base their decision on the album's underperformance.
Not 7 Years?!? It's getting huge by itself but I don't get the logic. Happy for Adele and Coldplay.
'New Americana' it's basically 'Royals' Pt. II but even better for me so should be a big smash with any hope.
^ Danny L Harle - Broken Flowers
YASS
Good to see Coldplay, Adele and Mumford added!
Are they really re-releasing "Rumour Mill"? Not complaining, just confused.
Nice to see Shift K3Y on the A-List, hopefully it means that will go somewhere.
Best playlist update I've seen in a while. All the long-runners dropped, Broken Flowers up to the A-List (the best thing), The 1975 on the rise, and a whole new C-List, that I only know half of. That feels more like the Radio 1 I want to see.
When We Were Young Hopefully this starts to make some progress up iTunes now as a result!
Bonkers that they haven't added Lush Life yet but it is probably just them sticking to impact dates. SURELY?
Lukas Graham obviously should be on there too but their impact date isn't til 12th March
Why the f*** is Love Yourself only up to B-list now? CLUELESS.
I'm not sure who has seen this, but it's been announced today that Radio 1 has a new head of music.

oooh a bit of a welcome clear out this week~
super additions for jess glynne, jonas blue & rudimental
also fantastic to see riton moving on the main playlist
the promotion of danny l harle, dj fresh & shift k3y to the a-list is a most welcome development~
URGH 'zayn' is hardly worthy of a insta-add tho ~ particularly on the day that rihanna drops new material...
Finally we have a more fresh looking A List! Glad to see the major lazer gone aswell and whole new C List!
History
Tbh I'd think of changing the habit of playlist too. For example MAYBE some songs should go A-A-A-B-C etc. So Firstly you massively introduce a song and then it starts to get boring, so it goes down. Or C-B-A-B-C for some releases etc. I think it would be much more flexible with this.
Such as the Adele exclusive for Hello - I'm pretty sure they used to do this, and currently Radio 2 still do it.
I'd prefer songs going C-B-A-B-C, sometimes they continue to play songs but sometimes songs spend weeks on their A list and then aren't played again afterwards which I've always found to be odd.
am I the only one that prefers the current format? They usually tend to play recently removed songs at least a few times a week up to a few weeks after removal, so it doesn't really make much odds. And I think the idea of the playlist is to constantly have new music on all the playlists, and as the C-List usually comprises of all new entries and risers from the INMWT list there wouldn't be as much space for new songs, unless they expanded the playlist size, which I doubt will happen.
Riton, Rudimental, Elf Kid & Kano!
The sample and chorus on Elf Kid's 'Golden Boy' is ridiculously infectious.
Great to see Adele's "When We Were Young" playlisted now and Jess Gylnee/Jonas Blue too.
Absolutely love almost all the new additions this week! Need to listen to Zayn's new material.
Adele, Coldplay, Hozier, Glynne, Jonas Blue, Mumfords (they were charting, um, in April or so last year in my own chart, so I'm pleased to see them now), Riton (YAS), Rudimental (triple YAS), Elf Kid (it IS infectious ).
Excited to see Shift K3Y moved up! I do hope this fact helps him reach a bit higher...
Strange to admit that Frances has gone the same about Major Lazer stuff.
Finally! Sorry in "out" list
Can I just point out that the verses to 'Hymn for the Weekend' and 'New Americana' sound scarily alike?
They're back to back on my Spotify playlist and it takes a moment to realise it's not the same song playing twice.
