Radio 1 picking up Taahino's BJSC flops! (Nice to see 'Your Light' on there, good song). Yay for Travis getting a B-List add as well, pretty meh bunch of additions otherwise (the Mahalia and WizKid songs are decent too and Jax/Ella is growing on me slightly but it's been a while now since I last really cared for a Jax Jones song).
First time hearing the Dan + Shay song just now and it doesn't really sound like a country song at all, it just gives me 90s boyband ballad vibes |

I'm like 99% sure I've never even seen the name Jeremy Zucker before but the song that's playlisted has 150 million views on YouTube (for the original solo version) somehow? *_*
He just sounds like a knockoff Charlie Puth to me, meh ~ |

Oh I think they do, they just appreciated that the song was getting too big to ignore. There's no excuse for not A-listing it. It smacks of what they used to do in the 2000s when a song they didn't like was unexpectedly top 3 in the midweeks and they'd panic-add it to the C-list. B List songs sometimes get as many spins as A List songs so they don't have an issues they are t there just to play the number 1 or top 10 singles. |

B List songs don’t get the same number of spins, they get 3 or 4 per day

The week they have maximum impact (now usually if the albums released etc) they usually get similar spins to some of the less played A list tracks! E.g. Joel Corey was played like an A List song for a time in its '9' weeks on the B List recently!

Dance Monkey is becoming the Despacito of 2019 in terms of stalling on the B list.

Dance Monkey is becoming the Despacito of 2019 in terms of stalling on the B list. The difference is when they play Dance Monkey they’re still playing the actual song! Despacito was ruined by Radio 1 because they’d just repeat Bieber’s verse after the chorus to replace Daddy Yankee’s part. |

Despacito was ruined by Radio 1 because they’d just repeat Bieber’s verse after the chorus to replace Daddy Yankee’s part. Radio 2 played that version too so I think either the BBC edited it themselves (more likely) or they were given that edit to make it more ‘radio friendly’ without Daddy Yankee. |
