David Guetta - Listen (8) (CR-2-5-8-10) Commentary After 15 Christmas No.1s led by female singers, the men are in charge this year in a battle between Take That and Mark Ronson with Bruno Mars. The latter reigns supreme as the glorious Uptown Funk climbs a place to the top just in time for Christmas, knocking These Days down to No.2 - not that it should be too worried with an impressive 10 weeks in the top five so far, including three at No.1! Mark of course has previously scored a brace of top ten hits here, with Stop Me (#2), Oh My God (#10), You're All I Need To Get By (#9) and Bang Bang Bang (#8) while Bruno has scored previous top ten hits with Just The Way You Are (#4) and Locked Out Of Heaven (#6). Madonna bags her first top three hit since Celebration as the utterly glorious demo Rebel Heart moves up another place to No.3 while South African singer Nádine, who unexpectedly topped the 2012 Christmas chart with I Will Be Strong, almost pulls the trick again, scoring two simultaneous festive top five hits. The poptastic Juvenile dips a place to No.4 while the Afrikaans anthem Skildery jumps to a new peak of No.5! Take That ease to a third week atop the album chart with III, much more of a grower than previous albums but the more I listen, the more I love, hence some of the tracks filtering into my singles chart this week. The Veronicas move back up to No.2 with The Veronicas while Carrie Underwood dips a place to No.3 with Greatest Hits: Decade #1. Taylor Swift's 1989 sticks at No.4 while the incredible Bombs Away by Sheppard claims a 22nd week in the top five, something not seen since the days of Delta dominance a decade ago! What do you think of the new lead from Madonna (Living for Love?). Quite like the Philip George song. I sadly rather like the winners single by Ben, how have the other winners done for you? I've enjoyed following your chart again this year, you've had some great #1 singles (and albums).. Sheppard, Mark Ronson, Veronicas, Clean Bandit, Helene etc. Any chance you can update your #1s thread when you get a moment?

Thanks Simon, I'm not sure it'll be a permanent thing due to time constraints but I felt like I needed a seperate thread for my Xmas chart at least! I like Living For Love, although I've only listened once so far so time will tell which way it goes for me I guess. The Philip George song is slowly growing on me, although these 90s inspired songs tend to go either way for me. I think Ben's single is really good, very powerful version of the song! The only other winners to chart inside my top 20 were Leona Lewis (#1), Little Mix (#3) and Sam Bailey (#4). At least the last few have been good by and large I suppose. Glad you've enjoyed it! Yes I will update it now while I think about it All of those will feature in my EOY chart too.
