Thursday? Oh no! Maybe Kylie is hoping for a top 40 entry when both Disco album and Say Somethng physical is released the same week, which worked very well with Dancing. It won't be easy to enter top 40. The Rolling Stones released "Living In A Ghost Town" both on CD and Vinyl a few weeks ago and it "only" reached no 61 with more than 6000 sales. How could Kylie do better with just a vinyl release?

(Somewhat looking forward to hearing the song, I'm here for more disco infused music x) |

I wish they could just release it on Friday, together with a music video and a few thousand physicals. That'd probably even get her top 40.
Either way, I am pumped for this! |

Looks like she doesn't want to clash with Little Mix so brought it forward.
All Kylie fans wait until Thursday midnight to download lol and stream instead all day tomorrow Or even better don't release as an instant grat and just release in different time zones throughout Thursday. She really could do with all those Itunes download sales in the first week lol. This post has been edited by SmileyKylie: 22nd July 2020, 10:01 AM |

I can't get over the mixed reception towards the album cover on other areas of the internet yet a generally positive reception for the single cover. :')

I dont get that as the album cover is far better than the single cover in my opinion.

Can someone clarify, is it out midnight Thursday? And the first radio play is Thursday daytime? Or is the first radio play with Zoe Ball also midnight? Thanks

I assume it'll be out everywhere after the first play on the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on Thursday morning. I think that's what happened last time.

That's what happened with NYC and STFM but they both had Friday 8.30am releases.... Not Thursday 8.30am....
What I mean by Little Mix is I think they release on Friday and are on Zoe Ball I think so it takes a bit away from Kylie and there is space on Thursday for a phone call. Who knows.... How long will we wait for the video? Remixes? Will we have it around for a few weeks before we see all this. I think the big question is..... How good is it? And how crossover is it? |

8.30 Friday morning release would be a good option.
Kylie will need 8000 sales to make the Top 50 where Dancing made its debut. This post has been edited by pippa: 22nd July 2020, 12:56 PM |

Hopefully she can so it but as we know streaming is going to be a huge issue for her. The label need to buy as much spotify support as they can.

I am honestly SO excited for the release, I've been thinking about it all day! And I think we also shouldn't worry too much about sales or chart positions anymore, Kylie is an icon who has been in the business for almost 40 years now and with streaming we just know she is never going have smash hit single again. Let's just enjoy the music, I am sure the album will chart well and the tour (hopefully next year, but who knows with covid) will sell well as well. That's what matters at the moment for her.

Yup she will need 10,000 to head near top 40. Problem is she will probsbly get 3000 of them on Thursday and not in the new chart week lol. A bit like Time bomb. But hey can they can still slow burn it with drip feeds of video, remixes, new 99p bundles, maybe physicals a la Dancing

I know her days of chart glory in the singles are over but there is something about getting a top 40 hit and i think both Kylie and label if dancing is anything to go by are very happy to get a top 40 and its their aim, they really showed that when they discussed dancing finally making the top 40. I know chart position and sales are less important for her now and god knows she has had so many hits she is has nothing to prove. Dancing going top 40 at the time gave me the same feeling as when she used to get number 1 singles, i was so so happy the week it finally went to number 38.

I am also still very happy Dancing managed that (sad to think a few years ago we would be gutted if the lead single missed top 5 and now we are happy with #38 ), but I just don't want to be too disappointed when Say Something fails to crack top 40 and there is a high chance it won't. |

Ya the mindsight of we perceive successful has def changed over the years, some kind of bliss going to number 22 on its debut week seemed like an utter disaster as did word is out peaking at number 16, and now a top 40 is great, i was also the same with stop me from falling i really happy wit made as high as 52. I dont have high hopes of say something going top 40 but i would love it to happen.
