Paris Hilton - Nothing In This World (Only # 55 in UK) This is probably the biggest for me! WHAT A POP GEM!One of the most well known songs never to chart? It was from an album released late in 2005 but pushed as a single in most territories in 2006. I don't think it ever got a CD release here to be fair, so coudn't chart, but it was played a lot on the music channels. Definitely one of those that everyone knows but would probably be shocked to learn it never charted! Carrie deserved to be pushed as an artist here. We never gave Country a proper chance really.Icelandic girlband's second hit, only reached No.64 after their debut had got to No.29. It was a double a-side with a cover of Sweet Dreams, and also got to No.1 in Iceland. LOOOOVE that Nylon song. 'Losing A Friend' is gorgeous, but this deserved to go top 40 too Stacie Orrico's #22 flop should've been a top 10 hit. YES! Great song. --- I have a couple... This got to #17, but I really thought it would be a LOT bigger (and honestly, a couple of years later and I really believe it would have been!) Keisha White - The Weakness in Me Also the follow up to that, 'Don't Mistake Me', is GLORIOUS and deserved to reach the top 40 (#48). A ridiculously under appreciated, British talent! We failed her, badly! She was responsible for the Tracy Beaker theme too, iirc. Another one that went top 20... but deserved way better than it got. Maria Lawson - Sleepwalking Just gorgeous. The strings |

Prince dropped a new album in 2006, won some more Grammy's to his name and also performed at the Brits that year but both singles missed the top 40 with this one coming close outside at 43! ('Fury' peaked at #60).

A bit late, but here are some flops from the first quarter of 2006 that I enjiyed that nobody has yet mentioned;
Alex Parks - Honesty [Peaked at #56 in January 2006] In 2003 she won the second series of the BBC Television programme Fame Academy immediately followed by the release of her first album entitled Introduction, which went double platinum in the United Kingdom and gold in several other European countries. In 2005 she released her second album, Honesty, but was subsequently dropped by her record label in February 2006. Nickelback – Far Away [Peaked at #40 in February 2006] Having already had Top 10 hits with How You Remind Me, Too Bad and Someday, Nickelback missed the chance to enjoy a hit with this single from 2006. Mark Ronson feat. Alex Greenwald – Just [Peaked at #48 in March 2006] Alex Greenwald of Phantom Planet would achieve a Top 40 hit with this re-release in 2007, and yes it is a cover of a Radiohead single, but it was not to be a Top 40 hit in 2006. |

Love Just and Far Away! Never understood why the latter didn’t do as well as some of their singles from before and after.

Some flops from the second quarter of 2006 that nobody has yet mentioned;
Nizlopi – Girls [Peaked at #91 in April 2006] Following on from their 2005 #1 hit JCB Song, one hit wonders Nizlopi narrowly made the official chart with this contemporary single in the Spring of 2006. Big Brovaz – Hangin’ Around [Peaked at #57 in May 2006] The last charting single by Big Brovaz proved to be a flop, and not long after Booty Luv were formed from the band’s breakup. Santana feat. Sean Paul & Joss Stone – Cry Baby Cry [Peaked at #71 in May 2006] American guitarist Carlos Santana teamed up with Sean Paul and Joss Stone to make this song in 2006 but it failed to light up the charts at the time. Corinne Bailey Rae – Trouble Sleeping [Peaked at #40 in June 2006] A short lived charting career for promising singer Corinne Bailey Rae ended with a #40 flop in June 2006. Sadly she never rose to prominence again afterwards. |

Moving on to the third quarter of 2006, here are some flops that nobody has yet mentioned;
Death Cab For Cutie – I Will Follow You Into The Dark [Peaked at #66 in July 2006] Used in popular media including TV shows Scrubs and 90210, this song became quite a popular one despite its low chart peak. The Shapeshifters feat. Chic – Sensitivity [Peaked at #40 in August 2006] Having achieved a major UK #1 single back in 2004, and a Top 10 single in 2005, and a Top 20 single a few months before in 2006, it was highly expected that this single with Chic would peak high, but it didn’t. Katie Melua – It’s Only Pain [Peaked at #41 in September 2006] Few of Katie’s singles are that memorable to the average chart follower, this was one from her second studio album, Piece By Piece. |

And finally the fourth quarter of 2006, here are some flops that nobody has yet mentioned;
Gina G – Tonight’s The Night [Peaked at #57 in October 2006] 90’s pop sensation Gina G has a flop to mention from 2006. This uptempo dancepop song failed to reach the heights that Ooh Aah... Just A Little Bit, I Belong To You and Fresh did but still sounded good. Rogue Traders – Watching You [Peaked at #33 in October 2006] Whilst this song did in fact reach inside the Top 40, it quickly fell out of the Top 100 altogether in the two weeks to follow. Another fun follow-up single that deserved more from another former Neighbours star. No other singles charted after this one. Tiësto feat. Maxi Jazz – Dance4Life [Peaked at #67 in November 2006] Maxi Jazz, best known for his work with Faithless, teamed up with DJ Tiësto for this piece in 2006, but it failed to get close to the Top 40 upon release. |

Rogue Traders entire album was so good, they deserved to be more than a one hit wonder!
'Way To Go' should've been massive too. |

Why does 'Watching You' sound similar to 'My Sharona' at times
Vaguely remember that though and it was a good follow up! |

Despite being a really good album 'Crazy Itch Radio' just wasn't a commercial success for Basement Jaxx. The lead single Hush Boy scraped the Top 30 and then the follow up limped in at #42. That being said, Take Me Back to Your House still remains one of my favourite singles from them so it's perfect to post here. Martina from Dragonette and dancing bears, what's not to love in the video?

This was a massive flop for Liberty X in summer '06. All their previous singles managed a top 20 peak so this missing the top 40 altogether was terrible news for them. It is pretty crap compared to their earlier hits so no wonder it bombed.

In fairness, that was a single released from their third album which itself had just bombed (and that was arguably worse news for them). I think by the time 'X' was released they were pretty much toast, but that single was definitely the final nail.

I'm really not sure why Liberty X nosedived from their second album so much. Song 4 Lovers was pretty decent but then Night to Remember and X were absolute trash Fair play to them lasting as long as they did though
