1. It's a nonevent compared to the dynamic DIL.
2. It's a "wtf" lead single when they literally had top bops in DIL and Blow.
3. It's lacklustre compared to the rest of both Tedder's production discography and self-titled's tracklist.

To be fair DIL was also a lead single technically, I suppose so XO can target pop audiences and DIL the hip hop audience. But even then it doesn’t quite work. A misfire for sure but I suppose both songs still did reasonably well commercially, despite not being huge hits

I did too tbh. I like it but not love it like I used to. I'm not sure if being overused on X Factor has spoilt it slightly.

If my memory serves me right, 'XO' was the lead single ('Blow' was an early option too right? But label was told it was too explicit for radio or something) and DIL only got made a single because it did well on album release.

Partly true although XO and DIL are both listed as lead singles. XO was pushed as a single 3 days after album release and DIL 4 days

Imo it should have been DIL then Blow and skip XO all together

I definitely remember 'XO' being given the single push in the UK first despite 'Drunk In Love' clearly being more popular.

Not a big fan of 'XO' but she has far worse. On the other hand 'Drunk In Love' is her best song soooo

'***Flawless' is too low, an iconic song! (The Chimamanda version that is)

40. Destiny's Child - Soldier (feat. T.I. & Lil Wayne) - 7.09
39. Kelly Rowland - Like This (feat. Eve) - 7.15
38. Beyonce - Broken-Hearted Girl - 7.16
37. Destiny's Child - Emotion - 7.272 (less 11s)
36. Beyonce - Sorry - 7.272 (more 11s)
35. Beyonce - Freedom (feat. Kendrick Lamar) - 7.4
34. Beyonce - Pretty Hurts - 7.5 (absolutely no 10s)
33. Beyonce - Baby Boy (feat. Sean Paul) - 7.5 (less 10s)
32. Beyonce - Irreplaceable - 7.5 (more 10s)
31. Beyonce - Formation - 7.54

Returning to the countdown, we see Beyonce being absolutely slaughtered drama.gif Some great songs are eliminated here. The 1-2-3 punch of losing Sorry, Freedom, AND Formation here leaves us with just All Night left from the Lemonade era. Ironic considering how badly it performed in the Single of the Decade survivor... Also gone are some bops from Kelly and Destiny's Child, Emotion of which I kind of expected to be higher up although Top 40 is probably where I would rank it personally tbh.

30. Beyonce - Best Thing I Never Had - 7.58
29. Beyonce - Love On Top - 7.625
28. Beyonce - All Night - 7.63
27. Destiny's Child - Bug a Boo - 7.66
26. Destiny's Child - Bills, Bills, Bills - 7.708 (less 10s)
25. Destiny's Child - Jumpin', Jumpin' - 7.708 (more 10s)
24. Kelly Rowland - Can't Nobody - 7.75 (less 10s)
23. Beyonce - Halo - 7.75 (more 10s)
22. Beyonce - Partition - 7.875
21. Beyonce - End Of Time - 8

Possibly the biggest shock exit here, out at #23 is Halo. A song I think most people would expect to be Top 5 at least misses out on the Top 20! What's even funnier is the two songs above it are definitely inferior laugh.gif

24. Kelly Rowland - Can't Nobody (less 10s)

Can we take a moment to appreciate how well this forgotten bop has done? heart.gif Also cheer.gif at Lemonade being ousted.

'Halo' very low, indeed. But I don't think I'm too mad about it? I like it, but it's pretty hollow.

Happy to see 'End Of Time' do decently! wub.gif

20. Beyonce - Naughty Girl - 8.041 (less 9s)
The fourth and final single from Dangerously in Love, here is Naughty Girl opening our Top 20. It became her fourth consecutive Top 10 hit in the US and further secured her name in the music industry. I feel this typically gets the least love out of the four singles from this album but I'm glad to be proven wrong with it out-doing both Baby Boy and Me, Myself, and I!

19. Destiny's Child - Independent Women Part I - 8.041 (more 9s)
The soundtrack single for Charlie's Angels released in 2000, imo both this song and the movie are far better than what 2019 gave us! Indepndent Women Part I became a massive worldwide hit and was the first to feature Michelle Williams as the newest member of Destiny's Child.
