Thank goodness we know now.

We might not be able to go to the show but at least Darius will be in the UK until March. Once the show settles, he might be able to fit in other things, hopefully.

I read somewhere that Sheridan agreed to do this on the basis that it would transfer to the West End afterwards. I assume that would include Darius!?

I'm glad D has something new going on. Is it just me or does it seem ages since from here to eternity? I hope it does transfer to somewhere else and hopefully I'll be able to get down and see it yahoo.gif

Interesting article about the proposed Funny Girl revival on Broadway which didn't happen.

Interesting because it speaks of some of the requirements for the role of Nicky and says that for Broadway extra1scenes would expand on the breakdown of the marriage.

When D's participation becomes common knowledge, we should at least be spared the sniping about celebrity casting or the more ludicrous GWTW claim that he was the only one who wanted the part.

This time the run was sold out on 17th August. The producers and director could have selected any musical theatre baritone in the world or even any actor who can string a few notes together for Nicky's 2 duets. There's no doubt either that many people would want to work alongside. Sheridan Smith in any part just now.

They chose Darius - enough said.

New broad way world article. They've remembered Gone With The Wind and Guys and Dolls and they've also listed Carmen

This playbill article gives more information about the creative team.

http://m.playbill.com/news/article/full-ca...-factory-367438

I think I'm right in saying this is the first show where Darius has never worked with any member of the cast or creative team before.

I wonder when we'll see any in costume photos.

Maybe since it's sold out, they won't bother with the usual promotional stuff which surrounds a new production. It would be a great pity.

IMO they should at least change that dull brown, nondescript poster to one with Sheridan.

I'm wondering weather they'll do the same as they did with FHTE. Maybe they'll film it for cinema or something like that seen as its only a 6 month run although i did hear that D was in talks with the producers about maybe making it a longer run or having it moved to the west end. We'll just have to wait and see. biggrin.gif

Whatever happens will only happen with Sheridan Smith on board. The director was prepared to ditch the revival if Sheridan had decided not to do it.

This may be worth trying - it's a 'wait list' in case more tickets become available. I'd like to see Darius Campbell in 'Funny Girl' - just hope there are more tickets
