you never forget your first time... Pronouns: he/him Joined: 19 April 2011 Posts: 121,467 User: 13,530	A disappointing Doctor Who figure on first look but with context, it doesn't seem so bad. Pretty consistent with everything else on the night, and with pretty good competition from Emmerdale (in what is traditionally one of its highest rated days of the year, in its normal slot). I'm hoping it gets a good +7 figure!

BuzzJack Idol Joined: 8 December 2010 Posts: 50,917 User: 12,472	Thursday 3rd January BBC 1 19:30 Eastenders - 5.52m (26.7%) - 20:30 Eastenders - 5.14m (23.5%) 21:00 Luther - 4.63m (21.6%) ITV 20:30 The Cruise: Shanghai to Sydney - 2.8m (12.6%) 21:00 Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? - 3.4m (15.5%) Decent figures for Eastenders considering what their ratings have been like recently. 5.52m is their highest since 24th April (5.64m) and the second episode just 400k less is pretty good for an out-of-slot episode.

BuzzJack Idol Joined: 8 December 2010 Posts: 50,917 User: 12,472	Friday 4th January BBC 1 20:00 Eastenders - 5.48m (26.9%) - 21:00 Luther - 4.59m (21.7%) ITV -x- Great retention for Eastenders, particularly for a Friday which typically sees a bit of a drop from the rest of the week. That's the highest Friday figure since 9th March. No episode next Monday and there's an Emmerdale clash next Tuesday, hopefully that won't spoil the momentum for Eastenders too much. The Greatest Dancer makes its debut tonight, what's everyone expecting from the ratings? Faces a head-on clash with The Voice UK which opened last year with 5.64m (with little competition). Let It Shine debuted on Saturday 7th January 2017 and rated 6.25m, for comparison. That too faced little competition (only clashing with The Voice for the last 25 minutes). I think both shows could rate similarly, perhaps low 5 million each.

I Drink Wine Joined: 12 April 2015 Posts: 10,484 User: 21,753	Solid night all round for both sides. Fantastic Beasts was about 1m higher than I thought and BBC was really solid. Michael McIntyre topped the night with 6.15m proving it can hold up without a Strictly lead in!
