Ant will also appear in some pre-recorded segments. I think it's sensible for ITV to not take the "erase him from the face of the planet completely and never utter his name again" approach that some commentators seem to be demanding.

Tonight's show was just as brilliant as always, Dec is a natural and a professional through and through. He carried the show so well on his own and while Ant was missed, he's proved he is more than capable as a presenter on his own merits, particularly given the circumstances too. Bravo!

It's a shame to lose the show for a year, but I completely understand. Unlike BGT & IAC, SNT is really their show, and should be presented by both of them.

Obviously it's a shame but I'd much rather see Ant focus on his recovery than worry about rushing back to work.

It’s good the show is taking a year out, it’ll give it a break and it’ll feel fresher when it comes back. I hope itv use the opportunity to try something new.
