I felt a bit underwhelmed with the finale as everything seemed rather rushed, it felt more like episode 6 or something but at the same time, I think this season has all been about Villanelle character growth and the bridge scene was beautifully acted and showed the change in Villanelle. In the season 2 finale, she was saying to Eve that she was hers and she can’t leave and because she couldn’t control Eve she reacted by shooting her. In the season 3 finale, she gave Eve all the control and offered the opportunity for Eve to choose her, who’s spent the entire season struggling with choices.

The last scene was incredible but like... is that it? laugh.gif The rest of the episode, not a lot happened and it was pretty slow, I feel like pretty much everything outside of the development for Eve and Villanelle was rushed, as if they rushed to tie up all the ends they'd spent all season skirting around before we move onto season 4.

It does set up Villanelle and Eve well for Season 4, in another direction we've not seen yet, but I was disappointed with everything else sad.gif

I don’t think they could have done another cliff hanger as in where somebody gets stabbed or shot, so it’s a cute cliffhanger as in to we are wondering if they get together? I don’t think they will get together as it’s a bit early tbh.

Btw what happened to Villanelle’s wife from season 3 episode 1? laugh.gif

I think Season 4 will probably be the last but I can see that entire season being dramatic left right and centre with Villanelle either being with Eve or dying for Eve

I really enjoyed the Finale, but overall this season was a bit of a miss for me. Don't get me wrong I still enjoyed it but after 2 brillliant seasons this was just pretty average. Really hope they are gonna step it up for Season 4.

I actually really enjoyed the finale. This episode and the Russia episode were definite highlights of an otherwise quite non eventful series.

Hopefully the pace will pick back up in season 4!

The last scene was great, that seemed to set everything up that they're going in a different direction for Season 4 and it was the tender moment between them we've all been asking to see.

Otherwise, a bit patchy overall. Kenny's murder was something we were kind of all expecting anyway (unless there was more to it) and there was no real shocks, even the death was an obvious baddie and it was pretty darn obvious where Carolyn's pistol would go. Agreed about Geraldine as well, what a waste of casting that was! Maybe she was purely there to show Carolyn's lack of emotional connection and response to grief, but I really thought there was more to her than just an overly naive daughter.

I'm interested in this season, but I definitely think it needs to be the last one.

Yeah I was super disappointed with Geraldine, I know we would have called it if she did end up double crossing Carolyn and being a baddie but it would have been much more interesting. I did really enjoy Carolyn's arc exploring her lack of emotions but to waste a potentially really good character on just being a plot device for that was disappointing for sure.

I do think Season 4 needs to be the end, I want a really dramatic ending for them too, I feel like they might have a small arc of them giving it a go then something will happen to tear them apart and I can so imagine Villanelle dying for Eve as the ending.

As much as I love it I’d say Season 4 should be the last one too, although I have a feeling it’ll be better than this season. The reason is that 3 and 4 were commissioned at the same time and possibly the reason for some of the...tedium this season is that the story arc had to be stretched out over two seasons, and next time will be more exciting? I hope anyway laugh.gif

Season 1 (10/10)
Season 2 (9/10) - underrated af
Season 3 (6.5/10)

I really enjoyed the final episode too - but that was largely because the cast were actually together and we got the chemistry back that is such a strong aspect of the show. Lots of parts of it made me howl.

Disappointed that the Welsh girl died, she was neither here nor there in terms of a character so her dying at that point was a bit meh. I'd rather have seen her develop in Series 4 to become a real match for Villanelle as we haven't really seen her threatened so far. That Kenny reveal was such an anticlimax though!!! I wish they'd have gone with my idea! laugh.gif Geraldine was just so pointless in the end and kinda annoying as a character if she didn't have anything more to reveal.

I can't tell you how much I hope they do go down the path of series 4 being Eve and Villanelle together. They are just too golden on screen together for them to part ways yet again.

Carolyn has been my icon this series.

Her lack of emotion / feelings and the way Fiona Shaw delivers her lines especially in her scenes with her daughter Geraldine have me in absolute stitches laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

I really hope we see more of those two in S4! Gemma Whelan was a great addition to this series.

Carolyn has definitely been the star of the series for me. Some great development there and some perfect comedy moments. Just a shame the daughter ended up being a non-event but at least it gave us more of Carolyn.

I liked the final episode as, like dandy* said, it benefited from the cast being together. They REALLY need to have Eve & Villainelle together for the fourth series because that gives justification again to Eve's character and helps give the show a new dynamic. It can't keep relying on the chance meetings as it becomes less effective each time. I kinda think, whilst it can be a strength, the whole new showrunner for each series is also a negative as it means things are left dangling at the end of the series where they can go one way or another.

The abysmal part of the episode was the Kenny reveal. like he JUST remembered he had the camera set up?? what convenient timing for it to be the final episode x

I don't think I've ever seen a dynamic between the two leads in a series change so drastically in just 3 seasons! This show is one of the best currently on air for sure. I just need season 4 already and I'm super curious to see what direction they will choose since Villanelle doesn't want to be an assassin anymore. I think it should be the final one because we will have seen everything and beyond that some things are bound to become redundant and reused.

This was Carolyn's season.

I was hooked by the first two episodes, but this season lost me with every episode. It was on its way to becoming my favourite with Kenny dying, but they didn't fulfil that to the full potential and I really thought it was going to be the sister that killed him, in jealously.

I too loved season 2 way more than the first, even though the first is epic too but I found this season so average, which isn't something Killing Eve was before. I hope they bring out the big guns next season, because this is the best thing on tv at the moment.

The last season was heart-breaking but yeah I was left with way more questions than answers. I think the pace and casual tone of it all felt off.

I wish it was the sister who killed him tbh it would’ve been a better twist than what we got but I hope we see Geraldine in the next series because she was hilarious laugh.gif

I think she could play a vengeful daughter very well!

I've finally caught up with series 3 laugh.gif and loved it - back to its bonkers best. Jodie Comer really is superb but, as others have said, that means she is bound to go on to bigger things.
