Neil Diamond Aiming for 18th Top 10 Album

Billboard (October 24th, 2014):

"Pop great Neil Diamond is on course for his 18th top 10 album on the Billboard 200 chart. Industry forecasters suggest the Billboard Icon Award winning-artist's new release, Melody Road, could sell around 75,000 copies in the week ending Oct. 26.

Diamond will likely be blocked from the No. 1 slot by a slightly harder-edged act: Slipknot. The rock band's new studio set, .5: The Gray Chapter, should sell over 100,000 copies and take the pole position (giving them a second No. 1).

After Slipknot and Diamond, look for rappers Logic and T.I. to shift over 65,000 each of their respective new albums. Logic's Under Pressure is his first studio release after a series of mixtapes, while T.I.'s new Paperwork is his ninth studio set.

Other albums possibly heading for the top 10 including Little Big Town's Pain Killer (perhaps 30,000 sold in its first week) and Pentatonix's That's Christmas To Me (30,000)."

It's good to see the longevity of Cheek To Cheek. It is strange to think I was more confident of its success in the UK initially but it's bombed there in comparison to the US.
