Regardless of the rift and comments from whoever, violence isn’t the way imo.

Nicki just stood cowering behind her guards laugh.gif laugh.gif

Posted by: NellyEverySundae 8th September 2018, 01:17 PM

I don’t know why Cardi thought that would be appropriate to be honest, she might’ve single-handedly gotten herself black-balled from any future fashion events - This is definitely going to backfire on her.

Once ratchet, always ratchet drama.gif

Apparently it was one of Nicki’s entourage which made a comment about her child when Cardi approached her.

Posted by: SKepner 8th September 2018, 01:22 PM

Whether it was Nicki or someone she was with who made comments, they should have known better as well.

I do agree this will back fire on her though.

So am I the only person who isn’t allowed to mention Cardi in this AF?

Hilarious. In a thread which is a CLEAR discussion about the two this topic is fine. Shoehorning your love for Cardi on a Nicki topic to create drama or unrelated discussion isn’t.

Posted by: Dexton 8th September 2018, 02:04 PM

I literally burst out laughing when I saw this laugh.gif

I read that Nicki said Cardi was a bad mother or something and thats when the shoe came out but idk

Posted by: Jüpiter 8th September 2018, 10:06 PM

Well no doubt everyone (media, twitter etc.) will side with fun 'ratchet' reality star Cardi who just HAPPENS to be younger and paler than Nicki.

'Stood behind her guards cowardly' is one way of putting it, on the other hand you could frame that as Nicki not letting her bait her into getting involved and making the whole thing even worse. You don't get into a physical fight with a crazy person, esp after they'd probably been drinking. Wise of Nicki to keep her distance.

Gotta say I look forward to it coming out what the fight was about.

Tbf as well Cardi's blowing up about being called a bad mother? She needs a thicker skin tbh she's a young mother who used to be a stripper and who's essentially famous for running her mouth and being ratchet, whose babydaddy has multiple kids with multiple other women and she called her kid Kulture with a K. If she doesn't expect any comments about any of that over the next 18 years even if she's an angel and completely changes her ways she needs a reality check.

I think it's really sad Cardi & Nicki had to turn physical. I lived for the first view of the video. But on reflection...wow that's really sad. Why can't two female rappers just get along and celebrate each others success in a heavily male dominated industry?! I do feel like Nicki kinda had it coming though. There's only so much you can continuously trash talk someone before it comes back on you... Hopefully she learns to stfu in the future!

That’s true, but there’s one thing I really strongly believe which is that Cardi needed to say and do nothing and just prove her worth through her money and chart success. That’s the best way to get to Nicki, invalidate the points she makes - fighting is just an embarrassment on both halves.

Posted by: Botchia 9th September 2018, 09:08 PM

I know she shouldn't have let Nicki get to her, but Cardi is hood af and she was going to snap eventually!

What has the name of her kid or Cardi’s background got to do with Nicki though 😂 Cardi shouldn’t have been violent, I think the instagram post on it’s own would’ve been a good statement but I don’t feel sorry for Nicki.

And Nicki trying to seem like this unbothered calm person when this whole era all she’s done is have meltdowns...hun.

I don't see what Cardi's age or skin tone has to do with anything.

I agree with those who have said it's a shame it turned physical, I'd have preferred Cardi took a more dignified stance on the matter, but quite frankly Nicki's attitude towards Cardi has been disgusting. She obviously can't handle the fact that she's not the #1 rapper anymore and making comments about Cardi's kid is HIGHLY inappropriate. Cardi's Instagram post explains it all really:

Ultimately it seems she hit breaking point. Nicki is behaving like a spoilt child who isn't getting her own way.

Posted by: Jüpiter 11th September 2018, 04:27 AM

What Cardi's age and skin tone have to do with it: they shouldn't have anything to do with it.

But the media has a long, looong history (in the US especially) of a hierarchy. Side with white women over black women, white men over white women, and in cases like these, the lighter girl over the darker girl.

This is pretty basic 101 stuff and ironically is similar to the stuff Kim and Missy had to deal with when Nicki first came out. Or look at Iggy as another example. The media jump onside because for some reason a lighter skinned woman is viewed/treated as more palatable or marketable. It's all completely fake. Beyonce would be another example.

As Nicki has alluded to in her recent work and interviews etc. already certain parts of the media are looking to paint her as the bad guy and would you look at that, she's older than she was when she was more definitively popular. The media love to pit two women against each other especially when you can slam an older woman by uplifting a younger one who can be portrayed as her 'rival' or 'the new her'. Again, look at Gaga-Madonna, or even Britney-Madonna back in the day, or how Mariah Carey was treated at first when she first came out and the media thought she was white.

Essentially a lot of the support Cardi gets from certain corners is due more to these factors and the narrative they can make around it than actually that people agree with her and want to support her for her herself.

As to the issue, did Nicki even say anything? She might have liked a tweet, wow, what a bitch, unforgivable. rolleyes.gif

And since when is calling someone a bad mother sacrilege? She sure didn't come across like a great role model here getting involved in a punch up at a classy event like this. Or starting fights with multiple women her husband cheated on her with.

Posted by: SKepner 11th September 2018, 04:54 AM

I honestly don't think race comes into this at all. Not only are Cardi and Nicki's skin tones very similar anyway, but you only have to look at Nicki's actions to realise why, from the responses on my social media feed at the very least, people are more in favour of Cardi. Nicki is threatening her friends not to collaborate with Cardi, making remarks about Cardi's daughter (which is quite frankly none of her business) and consistently talking shit about Cardi, when Cardi's actually not said anything bad about Nicki until now, when she's hit breaking point? Like I said before, I wish she didn't turn it physical because it didn't need to go that way, but I can understand Cardi snapping.

Age is similarly irrelevant - Cardi is not doing better because she's younger, she's just making music that the public are more interested in. Bed received a lukewarm reception and much of the buzz around Queen is who she's dragging on Barbie Dreams or the 6ix9ine mess (which shows Nicki in a terrible light in another scenario). Cardi's album was critically acclaimed and I Like It has undeniably been one of the biggest hits of the year. The vibe I get is that Nicki's jealous. Perhaps it's an age thing on Nicki's part - a younger female rapper getting two #1s right off the bat - but it certainly isn't within the media.

re. the last paragraph - Cardi shouldn't have turned physical but Nicki should never have commented on Kulture. You don't make remarks about somebody else's kid, it's a low blow and as a parent, you will be highly protective of your kid. It's an understandable reaction even if it was OTT imo.

Not skin tone being mentioned when Nicki’s dyed her skin and called other black women nappy headed hos 😂

Posted by: Liаm 11th September 2018, 06:09 PM

I mean both are incredibly immature, and I'm tired of hearing two grown women fighting and bickering laugh.gif Both sets of fans are very petty on Twitter too, but Nicki is just absolutely ridiculous. She's digging her own hole being so petty and ridiculous and mentioning Cardi at every turn on her Apple Radio show or whatver it is, by being a total idiot over her album and pretty much kamizkazeing her career with it. You can blame 80 other extraneous factors if you want, anything but realise Nicki is in the wrong.... It is true that the industry has these problems, but it's not the reason that Nicki is getting a backlash, her behaviour is.

Posted by: Jüpiter 11th September 2018, 07:45 PM

Nicki has made some mistakes this era but seriously dragging her through the mud because she didn't involve herself in a fight some other girl pulled on her based on hearsay of something she may or may not have done? I'm team Nicki here.

On the other hand you have Cardi who's literally famous for always being raring to have a fight with someone, that was her whole deal on Love & Hip Hop.

Like I said earlier in the thread if she wants to survive in this industry she's got to get herself a thicker skin or she'll end up crossing the wrong person and ending up in serious bother. Better hope she never has beef with Remy or she might end up worse than getting an elbowing!

Has Nicki actually denied anything though? In fact, her response from Queen Radio today: “This is about ‘get this woman some f***ing help.’ This woman is at the best stage in her career and she’s out here throwing bottles and throwing shoes!? Who the f*** is gonna give her a f***ing intervention? You n—as don’t care until someone is dead! You n—as want someone to f***ing die until y’all stop… until y’all stop this bullshit. You put your hands on certain people, you gon’ die. Period!”

Basically she's annoyed that she was on the receiving end of the retaliation from Cardi. Despite quite obviously knowing she started it. Unfortunately, it seems Cardi played right into her hands...

Honestly though if we're comparing their wrongdoings, all we have to do is look at Nicki collaborating with and actively supporting a paedophile.

On Queen Radio Nicki admitted she would ‘NEVER talk about someone’s child’ but I’m pretty sure she was caught liking posts bashing Cardi’s parenting after the whole instagram story where she let Offset put his hands up her skirt.

Cardi was also liking posts bashing Nicki apparently too so it comes back to them both just being incredibly stupid.

You can criticize someone as a parent without criticizing their kid. Tbh I think it's being a little precious to act like parents are above criticism. Especially when the person in question is someone like Cardi who seems to always have messiness attached to her.

Can you honestly say if someone like that was your colleague you'd never make any shady remarks?

Idk I guess I'm just not so easily offended. This might be a where you're from thing too.

Why is Nicki even criticising anything regarding Cardi's parenthood though? It's none of her business and she clearly knows nothing about Cardi's home life considering how little interest she has in her. It's not Nicki's job to critique Cardi's parenting skills based on how "messy" she is.

Posted by: Jüpiter 12th September 2018, 08:03 PM

Why does anyone criticize anyone? Why do we have opinions and write them on a forum when it's not our place to have any opinions about other people? thinking.gif hithead.gif

Way I see it, what's done is done and in my book it really wasn't a serious thing in the first place anyway. Fine for others to have different opinions though.

Must say I look forward to skipping forward ten years and seeing what fights Cardi's getting into with the new kids on the block or anyone she deems a threat :')

People on forums commenting on how much they like the new Rita Ora song is not remotely the same as making a remark about the parenting skills of someone you've already made it clear you dislike. There are some things you should keep to yourself, it was obvious Nicki was trying to stir the pot with such comments.

It's quite interesting to see you suggesting Cardi would start a fight with anyone she deems a threat, when Nicki's been getting into spats with the vast majority of notable female rappers since she debuted.

Posted by: Jüpiter 12th September 2018, 09:07 PM

You must not have seen Love & Hip Hop to have the impression of Cardi you have. Cardi was literally all about starting fights. And she was great TV! but let's not delude ourselves here.

Anyway there's beef and there's coming at someone physically so you have to be restrained and kicked out. One is part of the game, one is part of a more dangerous game.

Have to say I've heard a lot about 'the comments' Nicki made but not seen any receipts anywhere outside of what Cardi thinks she saw or heard via a rumour.

That’s my main view on the whole thing.
It’s one thing releasing a diss track or making comments on someone, but it’s a completely different thing to physically go for them...it’s all part of the rap game, I’m sure Nicki never ended to have an actual fight with her. It’s so embarrassing to watch and like Nicki said on her radio show, at an event like that as well 🤡

Neither of them are in the right but I find it hard to be on Cardi’s side after seeing the footage.

But there's also having beef cause you did each other wrong and there's beef because one of them is an insecure 35 year old woman who can't stand to not be on top of the rapgame anymore.

Homegirl has been called out by many, is always beefing with everyone. From Cardi to Travis Scott to lil' Kim to Stormi and whoever dares to block her from a #1 in any way the next time.

Exactly; plenty of people talk and sing about other people in their music without it turning physical. That doesn't make it acceptable but shows a level of maturity not getting violent and rising above. People on Twitter saying Nicki was "cowering" behind security etc need to look at it if they were in the position - would you just stand there and let someone attack you? laugh.gif

Posted by: Botchia 13th September 2018, 06:19 PM

Do we actually know what Nicki said about Cardi's parenting yet? That's my only thing. It's all hearsay so it's hard to know who is actually in the right here! Either way, I think they have both come across awfully here. If even Wendy Williams is dragging them both (she's generally very anti-Nicki), then you know it needs to stop...

Posted by: SKepner 13th September 2018, 06:53 PM

Wasn’t it on the video?

Posted by: Jüpiter 14th September 2018, 03:44 AM

Great breakdown from Val tbh

Points she makes include how Cardi is praised for things that people criticize(d) Nicki for and that people are jumping all over the show on Nicki 'provoking' her with no proof or even suggestion whatsoever that she even did that. Besides an accusation from Cardi herself who ofc would have every reason to justify her decision to attack Nicki. Let's not even get into the media reporting this all ways round as 'a fight' or 'getting physical between Nicki and Cardi' when as far as I see Cardi tried to assault Nicki. One-sided.

I start to think there's elements of 'angry black woman' stereotype to this story too. Nicki speaks passionately on her radio show and people come back saying she's mad and crazy? Just for raising her voice? Okay then... This in a week with the Serena Williams thing too does not paint a pretty picture.

Posted by: *Tim 14th September 2018, 06:26 AM

Her whole QUEEN radio show was dedeicated to Cardi though. If she really was as unfazed as y'all claim she was she woulda adressed it and moved on. But what did she do? She called in the woman that may or may not have faked Cardi calling her kid a monkey 3 years ago....

There is a likelihood that could happen. There has been more serious feuds (albeit Cardi's violence) in the past which have been resolved so never say never. You'd think once Nicki realises what a misfire the majority of this era has been she'll come round.

Just fyi more tea including receipts of the offending tweet

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4-QInaMkEM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NesgkyJWxTg (tweet at 25.23)

"The message she is sending as a mother to a baby girl by supporting a rapist is unsettling & uncomfortable to me". This was a tweet by a randomer in response to Cardi tweeting support to Kodak Black who is just out of jail after time inside for rape. Nicki liked this tweet.

I don't know about you guys but Cardi taking this to be a slur on her parenting just because it mentions that Cardi IS the mother of a child...??? What a low blow from Nick. unsure.gif

Video also includes receipts; audio of Cardi saying that nothing is off limits when it comes to things people can criticize other people about and that you should be able to come at people who have kids, Cardi calling black people monkeys and roaches and Cardi making fun of a mother's dead child.

Posted by: Andrew. 16th September 2018, 07:57 PM

Half those are fake! And Kodak Black was accused of rape but that’s not what he was imprisoned for, not that what he’s done is okay of course but... This ‘tea’ though 👀

Anyone seen the latest rants from Cardi B regarding Nicki Minaj and somehow Little Mix getting involved?

Posted by: MoanļngM˙rtle 1st November 2018, 07:35 PM

I try not to raise that name in here :') but as far as I can see it's she who will not be named once again throwing a fit and being ignorant.

You were physically violent at a classy event and then expected a group whose target audience tends younger to work with you? Their PR department would've hard vetoed that after that altercation. Now TMZ saying Cardi will have charges brought against her for her part in another violent altercation.

Once again what is her beef with Nicki. She's new on the scene, why compare the two? Do we compare Camila Cabello to Britney? Dua Lipa to Gaga? Not until they earn that comparison. Even someone like Selena or Demi is not being considered A List yet. So she had a #1, so did Iggy Azalea right out the gate. Yeah, she was lucky to release I Like It and get another, big on trend, but whoever released that would've been a hit. And same for Girls Like You. Lucky since she doesn't even write her own stuff anyway, just shows up and reads off the cue. Once again, lucky lucky but then that can go away just like that as soon as her label start to see her as a liability.

Tbh half of what people stan Miss B for on the one hand is things with the other they slam Azealia Banks for...

Posted by: T Boy 1st November 2018, 08:21 PM

It’s a bit odd, if those assumptions of why LM wouldn’t work with Cardi are even remotely true, it doesn’t explain why their management would be any happier with them associating with someone who supported a known peadofile who revenge porned a 13 year old. Not to mention that she also participated in this physical altercation whether she started it or not.

Posted by: M˙rtleSnow 1st November 2018, 09:11 PM

She didn't participate in it. All sides agree on that whether they call her smart or cowardly for backing off and letting her bodyguards deal with it.

Yes, she has made some questionable choices this year but she isn't herself a felon is I guess the thinking. (I mean, who knows, I'm not her manager and I don't work in that industry, just hypothesis of how I'd deal with a known risk in my own business) Also she is a MUCH bigger name draw and connection for them to have. And they seem to be fans of her.

Miss B can't even pretend to be a fan of LM and act hurt or put out that they wouldn't want to work with her, just waving them about as a trophy. Quite rude.

Also maybe they just don't like her on a personal level, that was definitely the sense sent by their first tweet before management got on their case with something more professionally-phrased.
