 Welcome to Battle of the Canadians - the first artist crossover event in the Shawn Mendes forum! We've handpicked four of the biggest names in music, hailing from Canada like Shawn, to feature in a number of battle rounds to determine who the best of the lot is! Similar to Battle of the Boybands in the One Direction forum, there will be a series of polls where Shawn Mendes, Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen, Avril Lavigne and Drake will battle for your affections. Only one artist can win each round, and an overall winner will be crowned at the end of the event based on how many polls they've won! For Round Two, we're keeping things current by looking back at what our five artists have released this year in 2019 and who has put out the best single, either on their own, with another artist, or a song that they've featured on by another artist! Simply vote for your favourite song of the five in the poll above! YouTube embeds provided below if you'd like to revisit each song before voting. |

Round Two results:
01 Avril Lavigne - Head Above Water | 10 votes; 43.48% 02 Shawn Mendes - If I Can't Have You | 8 votes; 34.78% 03 Carly Rae Jepsen - Now That I Found You | 4 votes; 17.39% 04 Justin Bieber - I Don't Care | 1 vote; 4.35% 05 Drake - No Guidance | 0 votes; 0.00% Finally closing this after the tie was broken ages ago now, oops. 2/2 for Avril though, and she sails to victory in round two with 10 votes for Head Above Water - the lead single from her 2019 album of the same name! Shawn's first release of 2019 gave it a close run throughout the poll though - If I Can't Have You finished with 8 votes in the end, and only 8% behind Avril overall. Carly managed more votes in this round with 4 people thinking she had the best release of 2019, while Justin and Drake flopped a bit with just one vote between them. No surprise, really. Will get Round Three up soon
