Amazing, looks like an Oscar nomination is a dead cert then. Golden Globes are often similar to Academy Awards.

SAG noms:

Ensemble
Cooper in actor
Gaga in actress
Elliott in supporting actor

INCREDIBLE. 😍 Literally hit every place it could've done *.* Cooper & Gaga were locked but the other two had a slight chance of missing so yassss at all making it <3 (for y'all that don't know, SAG is seen as one of the 3 big Oscar precursors with globes & Baftas)

Posted by: Jordan Lee 27th December 2018, 12:34 AM

Of everything she’s nominated for I hope she gets the Oscar more than anything!

Another golden globe would also be amazing

I’m definitely confident that she’ll add to her Grammys however.

Posted by: davidas 3rd January 2019, 02:37 PM

Only a few days till the Golden Globes! gold.gif

Confident she'll win the award in the 'Best Original Song – Motion Picture' category for Shallow, but reckon she could lose out on the 'Best Actress - Motion Picture Drama' category to Glenn Close sad.gif

Would also be amazing for her to win at least 1 of the 5 Grammys that she's nominated for!

BradGa will present an award at the Globes, yay

Posted by: UltraReputation 4th January 2019, 01:28 AM

Picture and song are near locks I'd say (ATS could upset in song but I can't see it happening). Gaga is next likely to win & shes def the favourite there tho Close or even McCarthy can't be ruled out. I have an awful feeling Cooper is gonna lose actor to Malek, HFPA are supposedly madly in love with bohemian rhapsody ugh. And yeah it'll be Cuaron in director most likely though Cooper or Lee could be a spoiler (I'm shocked to see the latter so low in the odds)

Posted by: davidas 4th January 2019, 10:26 AM

ARGH such good odds!! Would love for ASIB to do as well as these odds suggest!

Roma is super amazing so I hope Cuarón wins the award for Best Director.. I can see ASIB taking 3-4 awards though

Posted by: HausofTove 5th January 2019, 10:23 PM

Nervous for tomorrow! Come through ASIB <3

Posted by: Jαsє 6th January 2019, 08:12 PM

Gaga's shortened to 1/5 for Best Actress. Surely she's got it in the bag ohmy.gif

EDIT - Now 1/9!!!!!!!

ASIB now 1/10 for Best Picture

Shallow now 1/50 for Best Song laugh.gif laugh.gif

Posted by: UltraReputation 7th January 2019, 02:12 AM

Shallow won and Taylor gave Gaga the award!!! We love the queens of pop 😍😍

Posted by: Liаm 7th January 2019, 04:12 AM

Gutted, she lost Actress - Drama to Glenn Close sad.gif That's her out of the Actress race at the Oscars but even being nominated for her first film is incred. Hopefully it makes Song more of a lock then as she's got to be rewarded for something.

Posted by: UltraReputation 7th January 2019, 04:19 AM

And it won nothing but shallow ouch 😭😭😭 worst case scenario ffs sad.gif

Posted by: SKOB 7th January 2019, 05:41 AM

Yaass the second Globe for the queen!

But WTF at Bohemian Rhapsody winning... that was basically a Wikipedia article told in a movie

Posted by: Nick Jonas 7th January 2019, 07:18 AM

Disappointing.

Posted by: Jordan Lee 7th January 2019, 12:10 PM

Are the oscars and globes usually similar in terms of the winners?

Are the oscars and globes usually similar in terms of the winners?

Usually they are but sometimes there's differences!

I'd say song is basically a lock and actress will probs be between Glenn and Olivia now (Gaga is 3rd and still has a tiny chance of winning but it's very unlikely now). Cooper will probs lose actor unless BR backlash really kicks off but picture is still a possibility as I can't see Oscars going for either of the globe picture winners but I'd say Roma is probs the fave for that now.

Posted by: Joe. 7th January 2019, 01:28 PM

In terms of acting, I've seen all the nominated performances and stan glasses off, Glenn gave a much more accomplished performance than Gaga, so I can't be too mad - Gaga was lucky to be nominated given the caliber of acting in the category. (I think Toni should have been there though). It's easy to get caught up in wanting Gaga to win because her being a winner would be great, but giving it to the best should come first.

Really glad she got the Globe for Shallow, should mean the Oscar is on lock?! Though she should have probably beaten Sam Smith though last time as well.

In terms of the movie, Bohemian Rhapsody winning is just bizarre? Reviews were lukewarm, it just wasn't that great. A Star is Born (Or something else) should easily have beaten it.

Agree with everything here, you're spot on. I'd have loved Gaga to win, but not at the expense of a legitimately better performance just because I love her. And I'd have loved Toni to have been in the mix too. She's so under-recognised for her talent, it's unreal. She's one of the only actors that evokes genuine emotion in me when she's crying on screen. She's just terrific in everything.

I have absolutely no idea what happened with them choosing BoRhap, it's just a ridiculous decision. In no world was it even a very good movie, let alone a "best" movie.

Posted by: SKOB 7th January 2019, 02:25 PM

My friend who's an Oscar expert, told me that no way Bohemian Rhapsody will have a chance there.. However, it's not given that ASIB will either biggrin.gif

Posted by: UltraReputation 7th January 2019, 02:43 PM

Yeah BoRhap has no chance at Oscars to win best picture (but will probs get a nom there now + win actor) as backlash will hopefully start to hit it and HFPA we're obsessed with the film so there was no way it wasn't going to slay yesterday sad.gif I feel Roma's gonna take it but there's so many potential best picture Oscar winners atm (ASIB still can cos HFPA/European critics were much harsher on it than American critics, green book/Bo Rhapsody if they somehow avoid backlash, BlackKklansman or Black Panther winning SAG and then really pushing for the win, the favourite somehow re-entering back into the race)

Posted by: davidas 7th January 2019, 02:53 PM

So sad for Gaga, Bradley and ASIB as a whole... such a disappointing result regardless of the win for Shallow cry.gif

I agree with all of this. I love her but she was probably the weakest in the category... We should just be grateful she even made it this far in her first leading role.

I'm more surprised at Bradley not winning as I do think he's deserving. Rami Malek is a wonderful actor but everything about Bohemian Rhapsody is mediocre.

Posted by: Auld Lang Peen 7th January 2019, 06:05 PM

But she isn't the best actress, let's face it. I'm not surprised it lost out in all categories. I was expecting it. Same for the Oscars

Posted by: Spiceboy 7th January 2019, 06:12 PM

As much as I'd love Gaga to win an Oscar I'd be happy for Glenn Close or Olivia Coleman to win it as they are both fantastic actresses too, especially Glenn Close and it's a scandal they Close hasn't won an Oscar already!

Looks like Shallow has Oscar win in the bag though so Gaga may well be getting her first Oscar! ohmy.gif

Posted by: HausofTove 7th January 2019, 08:32 PM

I'm not even totally disappointed. The film has FAR outdone expectations and the nominations it got alone are incredible. It won an award, and will hopefully get a few more by year end.

Well done to the team and Shallow wub.gif

How many Grammys are people predicting / thinking she’ll win from the 5 nominations?

I can see Shallow definitely getting the best song used for visual media award.

Would love to see her win more than one award though but any wins would be good!

She deserved it so much last year for Million Reasons and the Joanne album so she better not be snubbed again!

Posted by: SKOB 11th January 2019, 08:19 AM

At least one, for Pop Duo & Group.

That’s the one I’m second most confident of after the visual media award.

I’d love her to get record or song of the year but I think she’d get one or the other if any on those ones I think Drake could get that one.

In the pop solo one it’s hard to predict if Joanne will win that one but I wouldn’t be surprised if Ariana got her first Grammy in that category.

Still to have 5 nominations ten years into her career is good going.

I guess ASIB could still get some nominations for the 2020 awards too as the album was released after the cut off date.

Posted by: blacksquare 11th January 2019, 03:23 PM

Do we think she should attend the Grammys or BAFTA? They're on the same night.

Posted by: SKOB 11th January 2019, 03:57 PM

It's a tough decision. Grammys would probably be more important commercially... but she will most likely perform Shallow at the Oscars so...

Posted by: Jordan Lee 11th January 2019, 05:04 PM

Gaga at Grammys
Bradley at BAFTAS would be my guess

Posted by: blacksquare 11th January 2019, 05:21 PM

I think it depends on how seriously she wants to be considered as an actress rather than ‘just’ a musician.

She’s clearly not going to win Best Actress at BAFTA but appearing there with her acting peers says a lot. I wonder how many Grammy wins they’re expecting as she’s unlikely to perform Shallow anywhere but the Oscars.

Posted by: Jordan Lee 11th January 2019, 05:45 PM

Are the Grammy awards she’s nominated for part of the televised awards?

I imagine record and song of the year are but the others I don’t know.

I can’t see her performing at the Grammys. If she did I’d love her to do Always Remember Us This Way or I’ll Never Love again.

Posted by: Spiceboy 13th January 2019, 02:04 AM

She should be performing at one of them really, shifting those record sales. I think she will do Grammy's she is a musician before being an actress afterall. Also Bradley will be representing the movie at the BAFTA's so she should represent the soundtrack at the Grammy's.

Think she is far more likely to win a Grammy than a BAFTA too, pretty sure Olivia has that one wrapped up.

Posted by: SKOB 13th January 2019, 08:48 AM

She has performed at the Grammys for 3 years in a row so that'd basically be the same old, her singing and playing piano. Go to BAFTAs and save Shallow for Oscars (it's a movie song after all) would be good decision too.

Oh I didn't realise that she was nominated for the BAFTA for Shallow! Yeah I imagine she will win that, in that case if I was her I'd be going to the BAFTA's as she has won Grammy's but never a BAFTA.

Posted by: UltraReputation 13th January 2019, 12:41 PM

There's no original song category at BAFTA's but they have an original music category instead of score which ASIB is nominated for and I'm pretty sure Gaga/Bradley win that if it wins that category

Posted by: SKOB 13th January 2019, 02:47 PM

Also, Oscars will definitely boost the soundtrack more as the competition for getting the boost is minimal compared to Grammys where only the song is nominated and other albums will get bigger boost.

It’s a shame the BRITS and Oscars air same week. I thought the album could return to #1 again in the UK after oscars. I can still see it clearing around 20K again that week though.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate that this woman has performed at the last five consecutive Grammy Award ceremonies? Add to that two performances from 2010 and 2011 and she's performed at 7 out of 10 ceremonies this decade!

Her performance was vocally insane *.* I wasn't sure on what she was actually doing during the performance but she was clearly living her fantasy. The awards for Shallow (and Joanne!) were so deserved, I still can't believe she lost out in that category to Shape of You last year so I do kind of feel she was being rewarded for that with this win, not to take away from Joanne's own deserved success. Her speeches with Alicia Keys and Michelle Obama and her winning speech were both really lovely, I'm so pleased to see that she's still so appreciative of the success that she receives

Posted by: SKOB 11th February 2019, 06:04 PM

Preach!

Posted by: HausofTove 11th February 2019, 10:07 PM

I liked the performance! She was so into it all and unashamedly herself so I can't fault it. Loved the band too, giving it their all.

Posted by: Theonix 12th February 2019, 11:27 AM

Okay I just found out that Gaga is the first and only woman to win the BAFTA for Best Film Music mellow.gif The award has been handed out annually since 1968, as if it's taken that long for a female to finally win...

Posted by: Jordan Lee 12th February 2019, 11:59 AM

She’s winning life right now and I’m so so happy.

I knew she would turn everything around back in 2014 when it was cool to talk s*it on her.

She deserved all those awards on Sunday. The BAFTA win is so special.

First time she’s won a Grammy since the Cheek to Cheek album to so to win 2 for ASIB and 1 for Joanne was so well deserved and long overdue. The last time she won 3 Grammys in one night was in 2011 the night she performed Born This Way!

It’s also amazing how every single one of her Grammy performances are so different she never does the same thing twice.

I'm also pissed off she didn't get Top Collaboration or Billboard 200 noms, but what can you do!? sad.gif

Yeah this is such a letdown, considering that Cardi B got like what 56173658268 noms.

Expected as much tbh! Oh well ~

This year alone she's won 3 x Grammys, a BAFTA, a Golden Globe and an Oscar, so those awards don't really matter!

Literally this! Any extra awards now are a bonus, she's exhausted all the main ones laugh.gif

Two more awards. Last night's MTV Movie Awards saw Shallow winning 'Best Musical Moment' and Gaga winning 'Best Performance in a Movie' for her role as Ally cheer.gif
