Here's a selection of songs that are gaining or doing well on various world and Spotify charts.

Nevada - The Mack [feat. Mark Morrison & Fetty Wap]

Likely top 10 contender, people love a tropical house rework plus it's already top 50 on UK Spotify.

LP - Lost On You

#1 hit in Bulgaria and France and making a few other European top 40s. This sounds like a huge hit in the waiting if it ever gets pushed, could be next year's Lukas Graham.

Starley - Call On Me (Ryan Riback Remix)

Doing reasonably well on Spotify at the moment so should be a chart contender by next year.

MiC LOWRY - Oh Lord

Big sample of 80s classic 'In The Air Tonight' so should easily become a hit.

James Hersey - Miss You

Nice pop/chill-dance song. Can't see it being very big but it's bubbling under on Spotify.

STILL waiting for this to do something (yeah I concede it's never gonna take off here)

Posted by: Dannoween 30th October 2016, 03:44 PM

That moment passed ages ago I think. What a missed opportunity sad.gif

I love this time of the year - the start of the year is always the most fun time for the charts because new artists break through and you never know what's going to get to #1 dance.gif Will make some predix later

Posted by: Bjork 30th October 2016, 04:29 PM

wonder if that Broccoli song will ever be a hit in the UK?

Posted by: Count Snakula💀 30th October 2016, 04:36 PM

I can see Just Say by KDA and Tinashe being the festive/new year dance hit...it is starting to pick up now on itunes and it is only C list at the minute.

Posted by: The Grim Reaper 30th October 2016, 04:38 PM

Call On Me sounds promising on first listen, I swear it samples another track in places though.

Posted by: Bjork 30th October 2016, 04:39 PM

I'm a big fan of LP, so hope Lost In You is a hit
Despite the weirs stage name, LP is a solo female singer-songwriter, American but I think of Italian origin

There was already a bit of buzz around her with her previous song, Muddy Waters, as it was used in the season finale of
Orange is the New Black, and the song is amazing, sounds a bit like Hozier's Take me to church in parts...

Posted by: ¡Michael Myers! 30th October 2016, 04:42 PM

The only one which sounds huge is the Fetty Wap one tbh.

Million Reasons and AYo will be hits as will new Shakira song in Spain. New Spice Girls too.

Just listened to it, it doesn't sample the or isn't a cover of the Eric Prydz song as I hoped it would be.

Posted by: mr_pmt 30th October 2016, 04:48 PM

How about this? I'd love for this to smash:

Also really hoping to see Tom Zanetti and KDA smash it, KDA would be a welcome surprise as it doesn't remotely sound like a commercial hit.

Posted by: Count Snakula💀 30th October 2016, 04:52 PM

John Gibbons Would I Lie To You is still hanging around too on itunes, so reminiscent of the 80s remixes period that was around about 12 years ago, I hope radio stations can play this and it becomes a hit.

Posted by: Count Snakula💀 30th October 2016, 04:53 PM

The lotti, danG, mdh and Snake collab could be a future hit laugh.gif

The KDA one is a bit like the Stonebridge and Therese ones last decade, Put Em High and Take Me Away, quite 'deep' sounding funky house with jazzy vocals.

It would be great if it was a hit.

Not in melody, but in the atmosphere of the instrumental (Put Em High has whirring sounds like Just Say) and Therese's vocal style is a bit like Tinashe's in Just Say.

But yes it is less commercial sounding than either Put Em High or Take Me Away.

Anticipating that minus 1 from you in the next Buzzrate.

To you it may not sound anything like Stonebridge's 04-05 tracks but to me it does. We have a different opinion but it doesn't mean 'I don't know what I am talking about'.

* Alessia Cara - Scars To Your Beautiful
Easily a hit in the making. Making some waves on Spotify already (No. 56 last week) and I can see it doing better than "Here". It's begging to be a hit what with its' empowering message and catchy chorus. The Luca Schreiner remix is also amazing and could give the song and big boost as well.

* DNCE - Body Moves
Much better than Toothpaste and already showing up on spotify (even if it's only No. 174).

* Maty Noyes - In My Mind
Hasn't appeared on the UK Spotify chart yet but has been in the 80's in the US for a few weeks. Has "hit" written all over it imo.

* Sia - Move Your Body
The Alan Walker remix of this song appeared on Spotify last week and made a relatively big splash in a lot of countries already even though it hasn't appeared on the UK chart yet. I can definitely see this gaining popularity as it's a great remix of what could easily be her next single.

* Jordan Fisher - All About Us
Haven't seen this on any spotify charts yet but it's gotten a lot of airplay in Iceland (and I have no idea where it comes from) but it sounds big already. If pushed properly this could definitely get some traction in the UK but I'm not sure it'll happen.

* Röyksopp - Never Ever
Oh how I wish this would be huge but I really doubt it. LOVE this song and it could easily be huge if done right. This has smash hit written ALL over it, such a banger!

* Mike Posner - In The Arms Of A Stranger
Not on any spotify charts as far as I can see but could definitely be promoted as the follow up to ITAPII, especially with the Brian Kierulf remix which sounds huge. I doubt they'll take this route but they definitely could if they wanted to.

Some of those are just wishful thinking lol but I can genuinely see all of these being hits if pushed properly.

Posted by: Dannoween 31st October 2016, 11:14 AM

I'd really love for the Röyksopp song to do something, but it seems destined to be one of those songs that stays popular on forums and blogs but doesn't get a chance commercially.

Posted by: Rob Goblin 31st October 2016, 11:42 AM

KREAM Ft Clara Mae - Taped Up Heart - top 200 in the global chart so could become big. It sounds like it could do very well imo.
Cobi - Don't You Cry For Me - may be a silly one but if Radio 1 supported this then it could do quite well, although it is basically a clone of Take Me to Church so who knows.
Andy Grammar - Fresh Eyes - although it could hit top 40 this year but it seems to be well on Spotify so who knows (rly hope not though)

These might be ridiculous suggestions mind heehee.gif

Pulling for Alessia Cara to do big things with that track. Her best of the 3 tracks so far!

Posted by: Bjork 31st October 2016, 12:06 PM

agree on Alessa Cara, the track has been 50-ish for a while on Spotify, just needs been made TOTD or a playlisted

Fresh Eyes is a top 30 hit on Spotify cos it's on all the playlists but no one is buying it on itunes

wonder if there's still time for this to be a hit? think it was TOTD but not playlisted...

Posted by: gooddelta 31st October 2016, 12:16 PM

Is Cobi even signed? If he is I assume it's not to a major. It could change I guess but for now Hozier is already filling that gap in the market.

I'm DYING for Move Your Body to smash, either the original or the remix. I'm also hoping that if it's the remix it will encourage others to return to the turn of the century sound that it has.

Would be good to see Raised In The 90s by Majestic smash too but I feel like garage isn't particularly commercially viable for anybody other than Craig David.

Posted by: JosephStyles 31st October 2016, 02:59 PM

Praying the Maty Noyes song gets pushed and becomes big, what a fantastic song, been loving it for months now wub.gif

Posted by: awardinary 31st October 2016, 03:06 PM

It's been almost 10 years since Armand Van Helden has a chart hit in his own right, this screams out to me to be a hit in the making.

Posted by: SevenSeize 31st October 2016, 03:26 PM

Tough to call this early, i don't see many obvious future smashers around at the moment ('The Mack' will probably be big though) but some could spring up over the next month maybe

There's ones i WANT to see breaking through like Rag'n'Bone Man's "Human" (based on its European success it clearly has potential, Radio 1 did already (very briefly) playlist it a while ago so i'm praying it gets another chance!) and of course "Lost On You" <3

What about Ariana Grande - "Greedy"? after Side To Side they're sure to keep milking the album and Greedy seems like the next obvious choice. She's a huge name, always gets good streaming numbers etc.

I'll think of more later on~

I would prefer the remix to do well, as it might encourage a return to euphoric progressive house / eurodance dance hits (which we haven't had since the first two Swedish House Mafia hits).

Posted by: Bjork 31st October 2016, 03:49 PM

is it confirmed that Move Your Body is the new Sia single?

Posted by: Dannoween 31st October 2016, 03:52 PM

I think Move Your Body (Remix) would be a great choice myself, original probably wouldn't do as well as it's been out for longer as part of the original album.

Maybe it can be the new Summertime Sadness....(remix doing better than original)

Posted by: Bjork 31st October 2016, 04:22 PM

what about Dua Lipa's Be The One? Has that ship definitely sailed? Are they going to go for another song or could they try again and re-release it before the album in Feb?
was thinking also about Kiaara - Gold, was a low top 40 hit on Spotify for ages but never went big, but now she's gone very big in the US and is a huge hit, so they might push it again in the UK?

Posted by: Dannoween 31st October 2016, 04:50 PM

'Gold' already had its time in the UK, yes it did miss the top 40 but was a reasonably sized hit spending a while in the top 75

58-{48}-56-62-52-55-56-58-58-53-62-73->12

I could see 'Be The One' getting a re-release and impacting the lower end of the top 40 post-album but until then keep the new hits flowing seeing as Europe have already had that song be a hit.

Posted by: 🎃cqmerqn🎃 31st October 2016, 05:18 PM

Posted by: Dannoween 31st October 2016, 05:33 PM

This one just got a music video, perhaps it'll get pushed in the new year. Bigg house tune.

Lushington - You Got Me Baby

Currently #213 on UK iTunes too.

Posted by: Count Snakula💀 31st October 2016, 05:38 PM

Hopefully the Oliver Heldens and Ida Corr - Good Life song can be a hit and start a revival of the mid 00s dance sound (style of production wise its a bit like Borderline by Michael Gray).

I doubt it will be a hit though.

I'd love Lushington to be a hit, what a tune!

I can't see them not going for 'Move Your Body' remix if they pluck another single, they wouldn't get Alan Walker in to remix it for nothing. I'll still be so sad if 'Broken Glass' never sees the light of day. It's just TOO epic.

This time last year, the likes of All My Friends, Light It Up, When The Bassline Drops and Dessert were all being premiered alongside future Spotify hits that were gaining momentum such as Don't. So it's likely some big early 2017 songs have already been premiered, although I can't think of too many. Maybe some like, although all below Tom Zanetti are pretty optimistic:

Tom Zanetti - You Want Me (sounds perfect for winter)
Dave - Wanna Know (Remix feat. Drake)
Donae'o feat. JME & Dizzee Rascal - Black
Young M.A - Ooouu (big American sleeper rap hit)

Dizzee Rascal will be 2017's Craig David figure, playing on people's nostalgia and making commercially viable grime in the same way Craig David did for Garage. Hopefully he won't do his pop-rap stuff instead. Sean Paul will be everywhere for at least a few months, although he's already approaching peak saturation. Look out for the likes of Lady Leshurr and Anderson .Paak next year too, two artists I feel will get a big breakthrough hit.

Anderson .Paak could be the next Weeknd if he choses to go down that route, I wouldn't say he's had a majorly commercial single just yet. As for Lady Leshurr she was only signed this year and 'Where Are You Now' was obviously her first attempt at a chart hit. Artists like Anne-Marie or M.O. didn't breakthrough straight away so it's worth waiting to see what she puts out next.

Oh god memories of Dessert, easily the worst song of 2016 imo.

For nostalgia hopefully one of the bubbling under 00s style funky house records (Would I Lie To You, Just Say, the Heldens Ida Corr collab or Money Maker will be a hit)

We are due some 00s nostalgia so if either Shapeshifters style funky house , trance or eurodance inspired stuff like the Move Your Body track (as someone else said a bit Eiffel 65 reminiscent of their own track Move Your Body for the chorus) it would be very welcome.

In terms of Dizzee and grimepop I dont think there is much yearning to go back to 2009 style grimepop but I may be wrong. Personally I prefer less poppy grime like Where Are You Now.

We have already had a proper grime boom this mid decade from Stormzy and Lethal Bizzle who both made the charts.

As you said Lady Leshurr is becoming popular too, Where Are You Now with Wiley was excellent and should have done better in the charts.

Posted by: Count Snakula💀 31st October 2016, 10:59 PM

Can we actually go back to having more than an average of three new entries a week so we can get more songs making the top 40 and more hits. Is there any chance the chart going to speed up a bit in 2017?

Posted by: Dobbo 31st October 2016, 11:05 PM

I'm afraid they're probably only ever going to get slower at the current rate. We still might get the odd week with a decent chunk of new entries but that'll probably be down to several just sneaking into the top 40 after climbing all the same week rather than a load of new releases all debuting high.

I dont mind whether they debut high or low I just think we need more in the top 40 for the whole year in general than we have had in 2016.

Such a vibrant chart there was in the past if you go on to the Official Chart Archive and go through all the weeks for any year from 2000-2007 or 2009-early 2015....loads of tracks to choose as your favourite top 40 entry of the year and I miss that.

A great track....I hope it becomes a hit.

almost top 50 on UK Spotify now, perhaps a big hit awaits. Reminiscent of some of the recent US rap hits we've been having except Giggs is British.

Giggs - Lock Doh [feat. Donae'o]

I think Lock Doh's time has slightly gone now, judging by the fact it's been removed from R1 and 1Xtra now. It's still very popular though.

I think that violin style backing could be the soundtrack to the year, similar to how the DUN DUN DUN-DUN-DUN DUH drop in 'This Girl' was the soundtrack to a portion of last year. An edit to neaten up that track would equal a HUGE #1.

Violin style backings in popular dance music were the soundtrack to mid 2004 to mid 2006 (largely down to the impact of Lola's Theme, which influenced a lot of dance tracks after it), about time they made a return. dance.gif

Posted video as it wasn't woprking. Production wise this really does sound a bit like some of The Freemasons stuff in the mid - late 00s

This one just got a music video, perhaps it'll get pushed in the new year. Bigg house tune.

Lushington - You Got Me Baby

Currently #213 on UK iTunes too.

I would love you to be correct on this one, even just so that Joss Stone has another top 40 hit to her name.

Who knew Joss Stone's voice would sound so incredible on a dance record?

Posted by: Dancember 3rd December 2016, 05:31 PM

I don't think that song's going anywhere sadly.

Posted by: SevenSeize 3rd December 2016, 05:44 PM

Can i get my crown for mentioning 'Human' earlier *.*

Sage The Gemini's "Now And Later" will surely take off in the new year? itunes/spotify momentum and it sounds huge

along with these:
Machine Gun Kelly - Bad Things (sounds like one of those pop rap hits from 2011-ish, the public love this stuff)
The Weeknd - Party Monster (assuming it's a single at some point)
Sean Paul - No Lie
Robin Schulz & David Guetta - Shed a Light
Burak Yeter - Tuesday (awful version of the ilovemakonnen song but wouldn't be surprised if it crossed over from europe eventually)
anything Little Mix release from their album

Lol I was mainly bumping because I love Joss and was happy it was her, rather than actually thinking it will be a hit.

Speaking of songs that I wish would be a hit but I am doubting, 'Hands Free' would be massive this year if there is any justice. Such a BOP and she reminds me of early Rihanna. Such a star.

Posted by: ML Hammer95 3rd December 2016, 10:50 PM

Now and Later is such a good shout, think that'll be a hit early next year. Sean Paul's song probably will be too although I wonder when the public will tire of Sean-da-Paul saturation (it's become really noticeable the last few months). I imagine a few tracks from The Weeknd's album will stick around like Controlla or that my be wishful thinking!

Naughty Boy's new one I can see stalling outside the Top 40.

I was thinking this Friday night when I was DJing, within 35 minutes of my set Sean Paul had appeared on Little Mix "Hair", Sia "Cheap Thrills", Tory Lanez "Luv" (Remix), Clean Bandit "Rockabye"... and those are just a few of the current tracks featuring him!

Posted by: JosephCarey 4th December 2016, 03:38 PM

This at least has the potential to be a big streaming hit if it gets on the right playlists I think:

Posted by: bah... humbug... 4th December 2016, 04:05 PM

I keep on thinking when the Critics Brits Award is announced, if Rag'N'Bone Man / Human is still top 5 at the time, it could potentially be the first #1 of 2017, if he wins it.

On a separate note, I love the Lost Kings / Emily Warren track on first listen, mind you I think I heard swearing on it, Radio 1 will watering it down somehow.

Posted by: XMAS Rob S~ 4th December 2016, 06:20 PM

I noticed this has been added to Australias Hot Hits recently, if it gains enough momentum it could be a small hit I think with a push (although I'm not sure it will too much but 'Sexual' became a hit and I didn't expect that to happen.

oops just noticed that's been posted laugh.gif re the anne-marie one/

I haven't seen a thread like this yet, apologies if there is one already.

Which songs do we think could do well in the UK next year? I have a couple:

Bebe Rexha - I Got You

Insanely catchy pop song, very radio friendly, hasn't charted anywhere yet but I'm willing it to do well in the new year:

Zak Abel - Unstable

I've been willing this guy to do well for years. I'm hoping 2017 is finally his year. He is insanely talented and his songs are all catchy as hell. His album is out in Feb, I'm hoping he at least gets nominated for Sound of 2017.

Any others??

Machine Gun Kelly, Camila Cabello - Bad Things

Yeah there's a pretty big thread on this created by Dan a few months back.

I'm not gonna predict any cos all the songs I want to do well/cross-over never ever do :/

Posted by: Auld Lang Snake 26th December 2016, 11:34 PM

In terms of trends I am expecting tropical house.to die out early in 2017. I think the end of 2017 may see the return of a genre to the charts we haven't seen in a long time, trance. Probably a deeper form of trance song, made by Alan Walker. I think the nostalgia is there for a return and with Marshmello's Alone becoming big on youtube (which has a trance style buiodup if not drop) the sound, or elekents of the sound of trance could return later this year.

Anyway, there will be a pretty momentous shift in popular dance music this year as tropical house dies and is replaced with another, hopefully more lively genre. It could be like 2013 (rise of deep house)or 2004 (end of eurotrance, resurgence in house) in terms of being such a major year in the shift of dance music types popular in the UK.

I think we're still long overdue drum n bass being a huge trend. There were a few songs around 2011/2012 (e.g. Hot Right Now, Gold Dust) but no mass domination

Posted by: UltraXmasWitch 27th December 2016, 10:41 AM

Of ones already mentioned, wouldn't be shocked to see either Dye My Hair or Make Me (Cry) become hits!

I'll post more later but here's one for now!

Alessia Cara OR Auli'i Cravalho- How Far I'll Go

Not sure which version but can see one of the 'Moana' tracks taking off! It seems to be Alessia bubbling under on Spotify & Auli'i bubbling under on iTunes so will be interesting to see how they both fair after the Christmas tracks/gift card effect etc wears off

Anothes Alessia song - but this sounds like it could be a huge hit in the new year, plus the video is fab.

Drum & Bass has had its moment I think... We had DJ Fresh, Rudimental and Sigma dominating with acts like Matrix & Futurebound and Wilkinson getting chart hits too. Can't see it coming back yet, sounded tired by the start of 2015.

Posted by: Klumzee 27th December 2016, 12:54 PM

I think drum & bass has had it's moment. Sigma has watered it down to mainstream so much that it now features in nearly every BBC montage clip alongside Bittersweet Symphony!

Only really their last single in Sept was chase & status by numbers and it sounded fantastic (better than anything Sigma has ever done) whereas their other stuff has been less commercial - more hip hop and the likes!

Seriously... that is awful sad.gif

Posted by: TMD_24 27th December 2016, 09:04 PM

Here are some which I think are possible hits...

Sage The Gemini - Now & Later

A very catchy song, Sage The Gemini also featured on Flo Rida's GDFR which was a huge party anthem and sadly missed out on being no1.jpg nearly two years ago. With this featured on the Snapchat Filter, I expect a lot of those users will be hopping on to this song quickly!

Chris Brown - Party (feat. Gucci Mane & Usher)

Chris Brown hasn't grabbed the attention of UK people for a while, however he could with this RnB smasher! Why?... Because of two artists who have had great success in 2016, Gucci Mane who found fame on Black Beatles and Usher who made a proper return on his tracks Crash & No Limit. With these two artists onboard this track, surely Chris Brown will be relevant on the charts again?

OneRepublic - Let's Hurt Tonight

This seems like it's the 3rd single from Oh My My and it's a proper emotional one. It's shame that Wherever I Go & Kids never really became big singles and I don't really expect this to either so I'm hoping this at least swallows into the top 40. I haven't disliked a OR song ever and this hasn't changed my mind.

Jax Jones - You Don't Know Me (feat. RAYE)

This song is another fresh start for funky house tunes although I could say that when Crank It (Woah!) was a nutter of a song. House Work never really took off and that's a shame because that was aimed at the hot bod's as well however this certainly is a contention for a top ten place. It helps as well that BBC Sound Of 2017 contender RAYE is featured on vocals like she was on Jonas Blue's By Your Side. With a bit of help from her, Jax Jones could be a name everyone remembers in the future!

Bastille - Blame

Bastille couldn't have had a better year last year with their second studio album Wild World out and two pretty good singles with it, in fact for this album they went more of the silly and British way of doing things hence the album name Wild World. Good Grief went to top ten on iTunes within a week but Send Them Off! didn't have quite the same effect, hopefully this will settle in the top 30 somewhere and it's a great tune again! Certainly wouldn't be surprised to see a fourth single soon.

James Arthur - Safe Inside

James Arthur's comeback year was certainly the one he wanted. A no1.jpg single and a fantastic album to go with it, so it's time to release another single from it. He has another version of Let Me Love The Lonely coming with Nicole Scherzinger on the way but before that we get Safe Inside which seems to be an easy top 40 song for him, the question is whether he can get R1 support and book a couple of live TV performances to push it up even further.

Galantis - Pillow Fight

We are in a era where dance and happy songs go very well together and do you know who is responsible for that??.. Galantis! They have seemed to quickly move on from Love On Me and go with their old style of building the tune and making it sound magic with Pillow Fight but for me it's not their best effort and probably won't hit as well as their other singles but still easily for a top 40 place.

Sigala & Digital Farm Animals - Only One

If you are a fan of Galantis then you really should be a fan of Sigala! This is their 5th single released from them and they have teamed up with Millionaire Boy's Digital Farm Animals for this one. It's a bit like combining Galantis & Sigala for this one with the robotic voices but as usual the Sigala vibes are still there! Easy top 20 for me and I bet radio stations will be quick to get behind this one. All I'm waiting for now is a bloody album!!!

I'll have another bunch of future hits soon!

Posted by: awardinary™ 27th December 2016, 09:14 PM

Definitely want Jax Jones, Galantis and Sigala all to do well.

Would be a nice addition to see Bastille get an early 2017 hit too.

Posted by: Dobbo 27th December 2016, 09:50 PM

I can't see the Sigala track doing anything, flopped badly like the Robin Schulz one.

Galantis won't either it's too close to Love On Me, should have waited longer (or actually released something better kink.gif)

Now & Later could be huge! Will have to check out that Bastille track as well.

Posted by: Danta Claus 27th December 2016, 10:45 PM

I think the Jax Jones one could be a minor top 40 hit like 'Trouble' or 'Crank It'.

Not heard Sage The Gemini yet but that'll probably be big judging by its Spotify performance.

I'm not sure if the Galantis song is meant to be a commercial single, either way can't see it smashing.

Sigala will probably be a flop too sadly.

Posted by: Auld Lang Snake 27th December 2016, 11:05 PM

I would really like to see more stuff like Love On Me, certainly that was the closest thing we have had to that weird but fun mid to late 00s retro sounding eurodance trend I rather enjoyed even if it was cheesy (Uniting Nations, Sunblock, Cahill, Star Pilots etc). And after a long time with minimal tropical house and future bass, we need sonething more lively in dance music.

Galantis' new song, Pillow Talk isn't great though, a progressive house song nowhere near as good as Runaway in terms of climax, which falls rather flat in Pillow Talk.

I think we need nothing short of a major shift in popular dance music to more lively, less minimal styles to replace the tired sounding tropical house, future bass and minimal styles at the minute. I think that will happen later in 2017.

Posted by: Dobbo 27th December 2016, 11:13 PM

I never really liked Sigma apart from Nobody To Love and Cry, as I don't really like drum and bass and orchestral music mixed. Sigma is so watered down for drum and bass too now, I agree.

Posted by: Danta Claus 27th December 2016, 11:26 PM

I loved Sigma at first but their new stuff is far too watered down, we do not need stuff like 'Cry' or 'Find Me' no thank u.

Yes I mean Pillow Fight.

I think when Disclosure started to become popular a lot of dance music that made the charts since has been serious and minimal (deep house, tropical house and future bass). There have been quite a few exceptions I know, particularly big room house in 2014 which I enjoyed a lot more than the serious deep house of the time.

This year, future bass and tropical house's popularity have mean many dance tracks have been serious and minimal. We do need some less minimal, less serious dance music and I think we need a major shift in popular dance music in 2017. Hopefully the pitched vocal effects and the annoying sound effect drops will go too.

Now we have America driving dance music trends too now along with Europe and other places , the future of dance music and its trends will be interesting.

I actually liked Cry as it was uplifting and disco influenced. We had that period around that time when I was getting excited laugh.gif because uplifting disco infuenced dance looked like it was coming back with Tears and Give Me Your Love becoming hits too.

In terms of Find Me, Birdy's vocal in it, particularly in the verses would sound better on another genre of dance music, trance, the home of haunting vocal styles (like Maire Brennan on Saltwater).

Here's another bunch of songs that could grab people's attentions:

DJ Snake - The Half (feat. Jeremih, Young Thug & Swizz Beatz)

DJ Snake has had quite the year with stunning tunes such as Middle, Talk and not forgetting Let Me Love You and now next year he is releasing his 4th single from Encore called The Half which features American RnB/hip-hop stars Jeremih, Young Thug & Swizz Beatz. For me it's catchy and pretty dope to listen to although you will have no idea what the singer's are rapping to! It's impacting on January 17th in the US so hopefully we will see in the top 40 by March!

Ariana Grande - Everyday (feat. Future)

Ariana Grande keeps rolling out the singles ahead of her next album next year. Following on from Side By Side, Ariana is pushing for a RnB like song to get another top ten hit and with the help of Future in it. It's certainly going to get the radio support she needs but will get as close as Side By Side did though?

DJ Fresh & Diplo - Bang Bang (feat. R. City, Selah Sue & Craig David)

5 artists, one massive song.... Or will it be? DJ Fresh has teamed up with Diplo on this one and it's called Bang Bang. No, it ain't Jessie, Ariana & Nicki, it's DJ, Diplo, City, Sue, & David on this future clubber. With some big names banging along this can easily beat the unfortunate flop that was How Love Begins and bang it's way into the top 40.

ZAYN & Taylor Swift - I Don't Wanna Live Forever

An unlikely combination.. Taylor Swift has been very quiet in her music life for a couple of years, but 2017 seems like her massive comeback year and it starts of with a song with none other than ZAYN in a song made for Fifty Shades Darker. This song has already peaked at no1.jpg on iTunes but it seemed to quickly wear off, however with the film set to hit our cinema screens on February 10th, don't be surprised to see this shoot up again.

Cashmere Cat - Trust Nobody (feat. Selena Gomez & Tory Lanez)

European DJ Cashmere Cat is one of those people that wants his songs to explode so badly and if he's lucky he could get the wish he granted for. It certainly helps that he's grabbed Selena Gomez & Tory Lanez for this one in this RnB focused song. It's bubbling in the top 100 on Spotify so with a bit of promotion it could get even higher!

Alex Da Kid - Not Easy (feat. X Ambassadors, Elle King & Wiz Khalifa)

Alex Da Kid you say? He ain't a kid, he's a proper man and a very good music producer who made songs from Dr. Dre, Cheryl, Nicki Minaj, Imagine Dragons, B.o.B & Eminem hits. He is defently the future Naughty Boy and this statement couldn't be truer with this hard-hitting, emotional first song that reminds me a kids view on the state of this planet. Watch out Naughty Boy, you have another British producer on your tails!

Posted by: Danta Claus 28th December 2016, 05:32 PM

I'd really love Cashmere Cat to do something, the production on Trust Nobody is so slick heart.gif

Posted by: Dancember 30th December 2016, 10:48 AM

Migos (feat. Lil Uzi Vert) - Bad and Boujee

This'll definitely be big. Already top 20 in the Spotify Global chart, and nearly top 50 in the UK Spotify chart.

WHTKD - Say To Me

This is gaining potential as a future dance hit, got a few million Spotify streams already (and a lot of YouTube views) and high up on Spotify's 'Massive Dance Hits' playlist.

Petit Biscuit - Sunset Lover

I think this could be really big if it gets a vocal remix like Alan Walker's 'Fade' did last year. As it is, it's been big in France where he comes from anyway and in the lower end of the UK Spotify top 200.

Martin Jensen - Solo Dance

This one's gaining a lot on Spotify globally, can't say I'm surprised really it has all the ingredients for a Spotify hit.

State of Sound - Wake Up Where You Are

This also sounds like a Spotify hit, could be one soon. Although there's only so many tropical dance pop songs that can be hits so..

Jon Bellion - All Time Low

Doing well in the US, could perhaps crossover?

Posted by: Mart!n 30th December 2016, 10:59 AM

Martin Jensen and State of Mind very tropical house, really stand out to be hits, the Migos track is just awful that will probably get heavily edited by Radio 1, Petit Biscuit sound like a drowned out version of Wake Me Up, WHTKD it feels like its not going anywhere, Jon Bellion not my thing.

Posted by: Auld Lang Snake 30th December 2016, 12:56 PM

I really like Jon Bellion's All Time Low, reminds a bit of Alan Walker's Faded, even though is not really dance music.
