The final group game for Scotland sees them take on Croatia.
The game is live on ITV 4 and STV. Please use this thread for speculation, pre and post match chat on the Croatia v Scotland game. How do you see this going? |

Billy Gilmour has tested positive for Covid and will miss Scotland’s final Group D match with Croatia tomorrow.

Thankfully no one else in the squad has been identified as a close contact that needs to self-isolate.

I can really see Scotland pulling off a huge upset, or what would be deemed a huge upset anyway. Croatia are not a team to be feared.

the issue is that in order to qualify really scotland need to win 2-0, i can see this being an attacking game too because croatia will need to win 2-0 to make sure they have a better goal difference than most teams in third place.
So far Switzerland -1 (If Scotland win 1-0 then Switzerland will finish above as they've scored more) |

My thinking is 4 points will almost certainly be enough to qualify. In Group B I believe Denmark will beat Russia and Belgium will beat Finland to leave 3rd place (and 2nd in fact) on 3 points. In Group C Ukraine v Austria could be a draw but if one wins then that's another team on 3 points. Group E it's very plausible Spain & Sweden will win then in Group F Portugal could easily lose to France leaving them also on 3 points. 4 points seems almost guaranteed to progress so GD shouldn't be a factor.

Yeah that’s been my thinking I think a win against Croatia should be enough regardless of by how many goals. It’s a big ask but Croatia aren’t as good as they used to be a lot of their players are ageing. Modric has played the last 2 full games and he’s 36 so bound to be tiring, not sure if they’ll rest him.

So far Switzerland -1 (If Scotland win 1-0 then Switzerland will finish above as they've scored more) See, I suspect it will be the opposite, neither Croatia or Scotland are known for their wild attacking displays. Both teams know they need the win first and foremost, 4 points should be enough, therefore I expect it will be a really cagey game to start with as there is so much at stake for both teams and it is imperative not to lose. Steve Clarke is from the Jose Mourinho school of through, which is keep it tight for 60-65 minutes and then go for it. I'd be shocked if that wasn't the plan from Scotland. |

Croatia have been very disappointing so far and Scotland have home advantage and can be quite fast on the break so I think its possible Scotland could win 1-0 but they have to defend well.

Yep been confirmed the winner will go through so it’s almost like a knockout game in itself. Cmon Scotland!
