BuzzJack Music Forum _ Movies and Theatre _ Bad Animated Movies

Animation is my favourite genre but as I have seen so many, I have seen some really bad animated films.
Here are some of my worst:

Cars/Ratatouille- Both way below par for Pixar and boring with terrible stories
Planes 2: Fire And Rescue- I loved the first one but this was a disaster with terrible dialogue, awful animation and it being more about trucks/fire engines than planes (I swear there was only like 1 or 2 planes in the whole movie)
Top Cat: Terribly animated with one of the worst stories and scripts ever. My 2nd worst movie of all time
Monster house: This is a very well loved animated film but I think it is awful
Over the hedge: I don't know what happened with animation in summer 2006 but here is another example. I have seen this film 4 times really trying to like it but it gets worse and worse and worse with each viewing
Pirates in an adventure with scientists: Surprisingly bad for Aardman and not funny at all
A monster in Paris: the worst movie I have ever seen in my entire life. The singing is painful, the story is weird ,unfunny and a disaster, the 'plot twists' are terrible, the characters are hateable, the 3d was a disaster and it is just diabolical

Will add more to this list in a bit when I look through animated movies that have been released

What animated movies do you hate?

Pirates in an Adventure with Scientists is a great laugh I thought. We watched it over Christmas and then got the DVD.

We also love Ratatouille.

You're right about Top Cat though - what a terrible version of the well-loved cartoon.

I quite liked Over The Hedge. It was oddly endearing...

The Barnyard and A Shark's Tale were two of the worst for me. Even my son thought they were crap when we watched them (and he was very young at the time).

The Wild: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0405469/?ref_=fn_al_tt_2 - This one is pretty awful - a blatant rip off of Madagascar, which isn't even THAT good itself.

Funny story about this movie too. At cineworld in January I was watching 'Foxcatcher', and during the trailers at the start they were showing all the other Oscar trailers, Whiplash, Inherent Vice, etc and then they showed THIS FILM's trailer (even though it came out 7 years ago and flopped).

My guess is whoever was meant to upload/sort the trailers was meant to put in the trailer for Reese Witherspoon's 'Wild' and picked the wrong thing. The whole cinema seemed so confused, it was so out of place.
